Comparing Arsenic-Containing Qinghuang Powder and Low-Intensity Chemotherapy in Elderly Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Objective To compare the clinical effect of arsenic-containing Qinghuang Powder(QHP)and low-intensity chemotherapy(LIC)in treatment of elderly acute myeloid leukemia(eAML)patients.Methods Clinical data of 80 eAML patients treated at Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences from January 2015 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed.The treatment scheme was designed by real world study according to patients’preference,and patients were divided into a QHP group(35 cases)and a LIC group(45 cases).The median overall survival(mOS),1-,2-,and 3-year OS rates,and incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups.Results The mOS of 80 patients was 11 months,and the 1-,2-,and 3-year OS rates were 45.51%,17.96%,and 11.05%,respectively.The QHP and LIC groups demonstrated no significant difference in mOS(12 months vs.10 months),1-(48.57%vs.39.65%),2-(11.43%vs.20.04%),and 3-year OS rates(5.71%vs.13.27%,all P>0.05).Moreover,the related factors of mOS demonstrated no significant difference in patients with age>75 years(11 months vs.8 months),secondary AML(11 months vs.8 months),poor genetic prognosis(9 months vs.7 months),Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status score≥(10 months vs.7 months)and hematopoietic stem cell transplant comorbidity index≥4(11 months vs.7 months)between the QHP and LIC groups(all P>0.05).However,the incidence of myelosuppression was significantly lower in the QHP group than that in the LIC group(28.57%vs.73.33%,P<0.01).Conclusions QHP and LIC had similar survival rates in eAML patients,but QHP had a lower myelosuppression incidence.Hence,QHP can be an alternative for eAML patients who do not tolerate LIC.

A sensor scheduling problem was considered for a class of hybrid systems named as the stochastic linear hybrid system (SLHS). An algorithm was proposed to select one (or a group of) sensor at each time from a set of sensors. Then, a hybrid estimation algorithm was designed to compute the estimates of the continuous and discrete states of the SLHS based on the observations from the selected sensors. As the sensor scheduling algorithm is designed such that the Bayesian decision risk is minimized, the true discrete state can be better identified. Moreover, the continuous state estimation performance of the proposed algorithm is better than that of hybrid estimation algorithms using only predetermined sensors. Finally, the algorithms are validated through an illustrative target tracking example.

水利工程施工进度不仅影响工程建设成本,还可能因度汛问题影响工程安全。基于BIM技术和图像识别技术提出了一种虚实结合的闸墩浇筑高度识别方法。利用BIM技术建立闸墩虚拟模型,可得到不同闸墩浇筑高度的虚拟图像数据集;采用改进后的深度学习算法Vision Transformers对闸墩浇筑高度虚拟数据集进行训练学习,得到能够识别闸墩浇筑高度的识别模型;在实验室建立闸墩真实模型,模拟不同闸墩浇筑高度,利用摄像机获取闸墩不同浇筑高度实景图像,再利用经过训练的识别模型对实景图像进行验证。结果表明,所得模型能够精准识别闸墩浇筑高度的实景图像。该方法可推广应用于水利工程主体建筑物的真实施工进度识别,也可为数字孪生水利工程建设提供支撑。

为探究表面活性剂在自热高温微氧(ATMAD)发酵体系中对有机碳源的释放会产生何种影响,选取鼠李糖脂(RL)这一无毒无害且易于获取的典型生物表面活性剂,依托ATMAD发酵体系,展开实验探究.结果表明,投加0.02~0.07g/gTSS鼠李糖脂对反应体系中污泥的溶解,可溶性有机物的释放及挥发性脂肪酸的积累有较为明显的促进作用,相关指标均有明显提高,产酸相关功能菌的丰度也有所增加,当投加量为0.07g/gTSS时,VFA累积浓度最高,为空白组的1.63倍,判断此时为最佳投放浓度;当投加浓度高于0.10g/gTSS时,会对有机碳源的释放产生抑制.在ATMAD体系中添加适量鼠李糖脂对于开发优质外加碳源这一工作具有较高的可行性.

In this paper,by designing a normalized nonmonotone search strategy with the BarzilaiBorwein-type step-size,a novel local minimax method(LMM),which is a globally convergent iterative method,is proposed and analyzed to find multiple(unstable)saddle points of nonconvex functionals in Hilbert spaces.Compared to traditional LMMs with monotone search strategies,this approach,which does not require strict decrease of the objective functional value at each iterative step,is observed to converge faster with less computations.Firstly,based on a normalized iterative scheme coupled with a local peak selection that pulls the iterative point back onto the solution submanifold,by generalizing the Zhang-Hager(ZH)search strategy in the optimization theory to the LMM framework,a kind of normalized ZH-type nonmonotone step-size search strategy is introduced,and then a novel nonmonotone LMM is constructed.Its feasibility and global convergence results are rigorously carried out under the relaxation of the monotonicity for the functional at the iterative sequences.Secondly,in order to speed up the convergence of the nonmonotone LMM,a globally convergent Barzilai-Borwein-type LMM(GBBLMM)is presented by explicitly constructing the Barzilai-Borwein-type step-size as a trial step-size of the normalized ZH-type nonmonotone step-size search strategy in each iteration.Finally,the GBBLMM algorithm is implemented to find multiple unstable solutions of two classes of semilinear elliptic boundary value problems with variational structures:one is the semilinear elliptic equations with the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition and another is the linear elliptic equations with semilinear Neumann boundary conditions.Extensive numerical results indicate that our approach is very effective and speeds up the LMMs significantly.

Objective:To analyze the overall survival(OS)of elderly acute myeloid leukemia(AML)patients treated with oral arsenic-containing Qinghuang Powder(青黄散,QHP)or low-intensity chemotherapy(LIC).Methods:Forty-two elderly AML patients treated with intravenous or subcutaneous LIC(1 month for each course,at least 3 courses)or oral QHP(3 months for each course,at least 2 courses)were retrospectively analyzed from January 2015 to December 2017.The main endpoints of analysis were OS and 1-,2-,3-year OS rates of patients,respectively.And the adverse reactions induding bone marrow suppression,digestive tract discomfort and myocardia injury were observed.Results:Out of 42 elderly AML patients,22 received LIC treatment and 20 received QHP treatment,according to patients'preference.There was no significant difference on OS between LIC and QHP patients(13.0 months vs.13.5 months,P>0.05).There was no significant difference on OS rates between LIC and QHP groups at 1 year(59.1%vs.70.0%),2 years(13.6%vs.15%),and 3 years(4.6%vs.5.0%,all P>0.05).Furthermore,there was no significant difference of OS on prognosis stratification of performance status>2(12 months vs.12 months),age>75 year-old(12.0 months vs.12.5 months),hematopoietic stem cell transplant comorbidity index>2(12 months vs.13 months),poor cytogenetics(12 months vs.8 months),and diagnosis of secondary AML(10 months vs.14 months)between LIC and QHP patients(P>0.05).Conclusion:QHP may be an alternative treatment for elderly AML patients refusing LIC therapy.

Tribological applications of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)are often limited by technological complexity to overcome its poor wear resistance.Here,a PTFE/polyetheretherketone(PEEK)heterolayer(HL)was proposed and evaluated as a new solid lubrication solution.Pin-on-disk tribometry found the lowest friction coefficient(μ)of 0.031 and ultralow wear for the PEEK/HL under typical conditions.The friction coefficient of the HL surpasses those of the state-of-the-art polymeric coatings/composites by at least 200%,and approaches that of highly lubricated interfaces.Mechanistic investigations revealed multi-length physical and chemical heterogeneity of the HL that best facilitates a tribofilm with high subsurface stability and surface instability.The technological simplicity and robustness of the HL’s high lubricity make it a promising new type of solid lubrication toward greater reliability and longevity.

In unit cell simulations,identification of ordered phases in block copolymers(BCPs)is a tedious and time-consuming task,impeding the advancement of more streamlined and potentially automated research workflows.In this study,we propose a scattering-based automated identification strategy(SAIS)for characterization and identification of ordered phases of BCPs based on their computed scattering patterns.Our approach leverages the scattering theory of perfect crystals to efficiently compute the scattering patterns of periodic morphologies in a unit cell.In the first stage of the SAIS,phases are identified by comparing reflection conditions at a sequence of Miller indices.To confirm or refine the identification results of the first stage,the second stage of the SAIS introduces a tailored residual between the test phase and each of the known candidate phases.Furthermore,our strategy incorporates a variance-like criterion to distinguish background species,enabling its extension to multi-species BCP systems.It has been demonstrated that our strategy achieves exceptional accuracy and robustness while requiring minimal computational resources.Additionally,the approach allows for real-time expansion and improvement to the candidate phase library,facilitating the development of automated research workflows for designing specific ordered structures and discovering new ordered phases in BCPs.
