Potassium-ion batteries(PIBs)by virtue of their strong cost competitiveness and similar electrochemical properties to lithiumion batteries have been deemed to be a promising electrochemical energy storage technology.To promote the application in the commercial market,developing electrode materials with high specifi c capacities,superior cycling stability,and reliable safety is of great importance.Anode materials as an important component of PIBs play a decisive role,among which twodimensional transition metal chalcogenides(2D TMCs)have attracted wide attention owing to their unique material and electrochemical properties.In the 2D TMCs’family,molybdenum chalcogenides as fl agship are the most studied materials and demonstrated the potential as anodes.With the deepening of research on 2D TMCs,another shining member that possesses similar properties to molybdenum chalcogenides,tungsten chalcogenides(WS_(2),WSe_(2),and WTe_(2)),has aroused tremendous attention.Despite many inspiring results,various challenges remain to be further addressed;meanwhile,some results are still unclear and disputed.Herein,this review fi rst introduces their material properties and electrochemical storage mechanisms.Then,we systematically overview the research progress and put forward promoting improvement strategies.Finally,challenges and opportunities that would be future research directions are discussed.

Relationship between Phenotypic Changes of Dendritic Cell Subsets and the Onset of Plateau Phase during Intermittent Interferon Therapy in Patients with CHB

Objective This study aimed to evaluate whether the onset of the plateau phase of slow hepatitis B surface antigen decline in patients with chronic hepatitis B treated with intermittent interferon therapy is related to the frequency of dendritic cell subsets and expression of the costimulatory molecules CD40,CD80,CD83,and CD86.Method This was a cross-sectional study in which patients were divided into a natural history group(namely NH group),a long-term oral nucleoside analogs treatment group(namely NA group),and a plateau-arriving group(namely P group).The percentage of plasmacytoid dendritic cell and myeloid dendritic cell subsets in peripheral blood lymphocytes and monocytes and the mean fluorescence intensity of their surface costimulatory molecules were detected using a flow cytometer.Results In total,143 patients were enrolled(NH group,n=49;NA group,n=47;P group,n=47).The results demonstrated that CD141/CD1c double negative myeloid dendritic cell(DNmDC)/lymphocytes and monocytes(%)in P group(0.041[0.024,0.069])was significantly lower than that in NH group(0.270[0.135,0.407])and NA group(0.273[0.150,0.443]),and CD86 mean fluorescence intensity of DNmDCs in P group(1832.0[1484.0,2793.0])was significantly lower than that in NH group(4316.0[2958.0,5169.0])and NA group(3299.0[2534.0,4371.0]),Adjusted P all<0.001.Conclusion Reduced DNmDCs and impaired maturation may be associated with the onset of the plateau phase during intermittent interferon therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis B.

Background:Risk assessment and treatment stratification for three-vessel coronary disease(TVD)remain challenging.This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of left atrial volume index(LAVI)with the Synergy Between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery(SYNTAX)score II,and its association with the long-term prognosis after three strategies(percutaneous coronary intervention[PCI],coronary artery bypass grafting[CABG],and medical therapy[MT])in patients with TVD.Methods:This study was a post hoc analysis of a large,prospective cohort of patients with TVD in China,that aimed to determine the long-term outcomes after PCI,CABG,or optimal MT alone.A total of 8943 patients with TVD were consecutively enrolled between 2004 and 2011 at Fuwai Hospital.A total of 7818 patients with available baseline LAVI data were included in the study.Baseline,procedural,and follow-up data were collected.The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events(MACCE),which was a composite of all-cause death,myocardial infarction(MI),and stroke.Secondary endpoints included all-cause death,cardiac death,MI,revascularization,and stroke.Long-term outcomes were evaluated among LAVI quartile groups.Results:During a median follow-up of 6.6 years,a higher LAVI was strongly associated with increased risk of MACCE(Q3:hazard ratio[HR]1.20,95%confidence interval[CI]1.06-1.37,P=0.005;Q4:HR 1.85,95%CI 1.64-2.09,P<0.001),all-cause death(Q3:HR 1.41,95%CI 1.17-1.69,P<0.001;Q4:HR 2.54,95%CI 2.16-3.00,P<0.001),and cardiac death(Q3:HR 1.81,95%CI 1.39-2.37,P<0.001;Q4:HR 3.47,95%CI 2.71-4.43,P<0.001).Moreover,LAVI significantly improved discrimination and reclassification of the SYNTAX score II.Notably,there was a significant interaction between LAVI quartiles and treatment strategies for MACCE.CABG was associated with lower risk of MACCE than MT alone,regardless of LAVI quartiles.Among patients in the fourth quartile,PCI was associated with significantly increased risk of cardiac death compared with CABG(HR

Classical and quantum space-to-ground communications necessitate highly sensitive receivers capable of extracting information from modulated photons to extend the communication distance from near-earth orbits to deep space explorations.To achieve gigabit data rates while mitigating strong background noise photons and beam drift in a highly attenuated free-space channel,a comprehensive design of a multi-functional detector is indispensable.In this study,we present an innovative compact multi-pixel superconducting nanowire single-photon detector array that integrates near-unity detection efficiency(91.6%),high photon counting rate(1.61 Gcps),large dynamic range for resolving different photon numbers(1-24),and four-quadrant position sensing function all within one device.Furthermore,we have constructed a communication testbed to validate the advantages offered by such an architecture.Through 8-PPM(pulse position modulation)format communication experiments,we have achieved an impressive maximum data rate of 1.5 Gbps,demonstrating sensitivities surpassing previous benchmarks at respective speeds.By incorporating photon number information into error correction codes,the receiver can tolerate maximum background noise levels equivalent to 0.8 photons/slot at a data rate of 120 Mbps—showcasing a great potential for daylight operation scenarios.Additionally,preliminary beam tracking tests were conducted through open-loop scanning techniques,which revealed clear quantitative dependence indicating sensitivity variations based on beam location.Based on the device characterizations and communication results,we anticipate that this device architecture,along with its corresponding signal processing and coding techniques,will be applicable in future space-to-ground communication tasks.

Investigation on the Novel High-performance Copper/Graphene Composite Conductor for High Power Density Motor

High-performance Cu/Graphene composite wire synergistically strengthened by nano Cr_(3)C_(2) phase was directly synthesized via hot press sintering followed by severe cold plastic deformation, using liquid paraffin and CuCr alloy powder as the raw materials. Since graphene is in situ formed under the catalysis of copper powder during the sintering process, the problem that graphene is easy to agglomerate and difficult to disperse uniformly in the copper matrix has been solved. The nano Cr_(3)C_(2)-particles nailed at the interface favor to improve the interface bonding. The Cu/Graphene composite possesses high electrical conductivity, hardness, and plasticity. The composite wire exhibits high electrical conductivity of 96.93% IACS, great tensile strength of 488MPa, and excellent resistance to softening. Even after annealing at 400℃ for 1 h, the tensile strength can still reach 268 MPa with a conductivity of about 99.14% IACS.The wire's temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR) is largely reduced to 0.0035/℃ due to the complex structure,which leads the wire to present low resistivity at higher temperatures. Such Cu/Graphene composite wire with excellent comprehensive performance has a good application prospect in high-power density motors.

Sequential good lattice point sets for computer experiments

Sequential Latin hypercube designs (SLHDs) have recently received great attention for computer experiments, with much of the research restricted to invariant spaces. The related systematic construction methods are inflexible, and algorithmic methods are ineffective for large designs. For designs in contracting spaces, systematic construction methods have not been investigated yet. This paper proposes a new method for constructing SLHDs via good lattice point sets in various experimental spaces. These designs are called sequential good lattice point (SGLP) sets. Moreover, we provide efficient approaches for identifying the (nearly)optimal SGLP sets under a given criterion. Combining the linear level permutation technique, we obtain a class of asymptotically optimal SLHDs in invariant spaces, where the L1-distance in each stage is either optimal or asymptotically optimal. Numerical results demonstrate that the SGLP set has a better space-filling property than the existing SLHDs in invariant spaces. It is also shown that SGLP sets have less computational complexity and more adaptability.

A novel live attenuated vaccine candidate protects chickens against subtype B avian metapneumovirus

Avian metapneumovirus(aMPV) is a highly contagious pathogen that causes acute upper respiratory tract diseases in chickens and turkeys, resulting in serious economic losses. Subtype B aMPV has recently become the dominant epidemic strain in China. We developed an attenuated aMPV subtype B strain by serial passaging in Vero cells and evaluated its safety and efficacy as a vaccine candidate. The safety test showed that after the 30th passage, the LN16-A strain was fully attenuated, as clinical signs of infection and histological lesions were absent after inoculation.The LN16-A strain did not revert to a virulent strain after five serial passages in chickens. The genomic sequence of LN16-A differed from that of the parent wild-type LN16(wtLN16) strain and had nine amino acid mutations. In chickens, a single immunization with LN16-A induced robust humoral and cellular immune responses, including the abundant production of neutralizing antibodies, CD4^(+) T lymphocytes, and the Th1(IFN-γ) and Th2(IL-4 and IL-6)cytokines. We also confirmed that LN16-A provided 100% protection against subtype B aMPV and significantly reduced viral shedding and turbinate inflammation. Our findings suggest that the LN16-A strain is a promising live attenuated vaccine candidate that can prevent infection with subtype B aMPV.

Laparoscopic left hemihepatectomy guided by indocyanine green fluorescence: A cranial-dorsal approach

BACKGROUND Advancements in laparoscopic technology and a deeper understanding of intra-hepatic anatomy have led to the establishment of more precise laparoscopic hepatectomy(LH)techniques.The indocyanine green(ICG)fluorescence navi-gation technique has emerged as the most effective method for identifying hepatic regions,potentially overcoming the limitations of LH.While laparoscopic left hemihepatectomy(LLH)is a standardized procedure,there is a need for innova-tive strategies to enhance its outcomes.important anatomical markers,surgical skills,and ICG staining methods.METHODS Thirty-seven patients who underwent ICG fluorescence-guided LLH at Qujing Second People's Hospital between January 2019 and February 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.The cranial-dorsal approach was performed which involves dissecting the left hepatic vein cephalad,isolating the Arantius ligament,exposing the middle hepatic vein,and dissecting the parenchyma from the dorsal to the foot in order to complete the anatomical LLH.The surgical methods,as well as intra-and post-surgical data,were recorded and analyzed.Our hospital’s Medical Ethics Committee approved this study(Ethical review:2022-019-01).RESULTS Intraoperative blood loss during LLH was 335.68±99.869 mL and the rates of transfusion and conversion to laparotomy were 13.5%and 0%,respectively.The overall incidence of complications throughout the follow-up(median of 18 months;range 1-36 months)was 21.6%.No mortality or severe complications(level IV)were reported.CONCLUSION LLH has the potential to become a novel,standardized approach that can effectively,safely,and simply expose the middle hepatic vein and meet the requirements of precision surgery.

Berberine alleviates ovarian tissue damage in mice with hepatolenticular degeneration by suppressing ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress

Objective:Hepatolenticular degeneration (HLD) is an autosomal recessive disorder that manifests as multiorgan damage due to impaired copper (Cu) metabolism. Female patients with HLD often experience reproductive impairments. This study investigated the protective effect of berberine against ovarian damage in toxic-milk (TX) mice, a murine model for HLD.Methods:Mice were categorized into control group, HLD TX group (HLD group), penicillamine (Cu chelator)-treated TX group and berberine-treated TX group. Body weight, ovary weight and the number of ovulated eggs were recorded. Follicular morphology and cellular ultrastructure were examined. Total iron, ferrous iron (Fe2+) and trivalent iron (Fe3+) levels, as well as malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione(GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG), were measured in the ovaries. Western blot analysis was used to analyze the expression of proteins related to ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress.Results:Ovarian tissue damage was evident in the HLD group, with a significant increase in ferroptosis and ER stress compared to the control group. This damage was inhibited by treatment with penicillamine,a Cu chelator. Compared with the HLD group, berberine increased the number of ovulations, and improved ovarian morphology and ultrastructure. Further, we found that berberine reduced total iron,Fe2+, MDA and GSSG levels, elevated GSH levels, decreased the expression of the ferroptosis marker protein prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2), and increased glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4)expression. Furthermore, berberine inhibited the expression of ER stress-associated proteins mediated by the protein kinase RNA-like ER kinase (PERK) pathway.Conclusion:Ferroptosis and ER stress are involved in Cu-induced ovarian damage in TX mice. Berberine ameliorates ovarian damage in HLD TX mice by inhibiting ferroptosis and ER stress.

Solid strong base catalysts have received considerable attention in various organic reactions due to their facile separation,neglectable corrosion,and environmental friendliness.Although great progress has been made in the preparation of solid strong base catalysts,it is still challenging to avoid basic sites aggregation on support and active sites loss in reaction system.Here,we report a tandem redox strategy to prepare Na single atoms on graphene,producing a new kind of solid strong base catalyst(Na1/G).The base precursor NaNO_(3)was first reduced to Na2O by graphene(400℃)and successively to single atoms Na anchored on the graphene vacancies(800℃).Owing to the atomically dispersed of basicity,the resultant catalyst presents high activity toward the transesterification of methanol and ethylene carbonate to synthesize dimethyl carbonate(turnover frequency(TOF)value:125.7 h^(−1)),which is much better than the conventional counterpart Na2O/G and various reported solid strong bases(TOF:1.0-90.1 h^(−1)).Furthermore,thanks to the basicity anchored on graphene,the Na1/G catalyst shows excellent durability during cycling.This work may provide a new direction for the development of solid strong base catalysts.
