Changes of China’s Status in the Global System and Its Influencing Factors:A Multiple Contact Networks Perspective

Clarifying China’s position in the global system is an important logical basis for developing national diplomacy.Although much research has been done on China’s development status,most studies have been based on country comparisons or institutional en-vironment.In today’s networked era in which the global economy,trade,personnel,and information are closely connected,studies on China’s global position and its status changes and influencing factors in multiple contact networks are still insufficient.In this study,from the perspective of diverse global contact networks,we constructed economic,cultural,and political influence indices to explore the changes and influencing factors on China’s status in the global system from 2005 to 2018.The results show that during the study period,China’s global influence in the fields of economic ties,cultural exchanges,and political contacts increased significantly,but its influ-ence in the fields of cultural exchanges and political contacts lagged far economic ties.The pattern of China’s economic influence on various economies around the world has shown a transformation from an‘upright pyramid’to an‘inverted pyramid’structure.The proportion of these economies in low-influence zones has decreased from more than 60%in 2005 to less than 20%in 2018.China’s cultural and political influence on various economies around the world has increased significantly;however,for the former,the percentage of high-influence areas is still less than 20%,whereas for the latter the percentage of these economies in medium-and high-influence areas is still less than 50%.Analyses such as a scatter plot matrix show that geographical proximity,economic globalization,close cooperation with developing countries,and a proactive and peaceful foreign policy are important factors in improving China’s status in the diverse global network system.

Deposition of thin TiO_(2)films on fluorophlogopite particle surface by CVD in fluidized bed reactor to prepare silver pearlescent pigments

Two critical parameters:Glossiness and chromaticity space of pearlescent pigments were evaluated based on crystallinity and grain size.Both the roughness and the vertical distance evolution along the surface of deposited TiO_(2)film are affected by the crystallinity.The optimal crystallinity of TiO_(2)was deposited at the temperature of 350℃.The TiCl4 concentration effectively changed the grain size.However,the high flow rate of fluidizing gas and optimal gas–solid ratio(<0.11 m^(3)/(kg h))restricted the change of TiCl_(4)concentrations in fluidized bed reactor.In this case,the grain size of the deposited TiO_(2)film was about 55 nm.Depending on the grain size,the color of pearlescent pigments was adjusted by controlling the film thickness based on TiO_(2)concentration.Finally,the silver pearlescent pigment with high glossiness was prepared by chemical vapor deposition method in a fluidized bed reactor.

Expression Complementary Disentanglement Network for Facial Expression Recognition

Disentangling facial expressions from other disturbing facial attributes in face images is an essential topic for facial expression recognition.Previous methods only care about facial expression disentanglement(FED)itself,ignoring the negative effects of other facial attributes.Due to the annotations on limited facial attributes,it is difficult for existing FED solutions to disentangle all disturbance from the input face.To solve this issue,we propose an expression complementary disentanglement network(ECDNet).ECDNet proposes to finish the FED task during a face reconstruction process,so as to address all facial attributes during disentanglement.Different from traditional reconstruction models,ECDNet reconstructs face images by progressively generating and combining facial appearance and matching geometry.It designs the expression incentive(EIE) and expression inhibition(EIN) mechanisms,inducing the model to characterize the disentangled expression and complementary parts precisely.Facial geometry and appearance,generated in the reconstructed process,are dealt with to represent facial expressions and complementary parts,respectively.The combination of distinctive reconstruction model,EIE,and EIN mechanisms ensures the completeness and exactness of the FED task.Experimental results on RAF-DB,AffectNet,and CAER-S datasets have proven the effectiveness and superiority of ECDNet.

Effect of coral sand on the mechanical properties and hydration mechanism of magnesium potassium phosphate cement mortar

Damaged structures on coral islands have been spalling and cracking due to the dual corrosion of tides and waves.To ensure easy access to aggregate materials,magnesium potassium phosphate cement(MKPC)and coral sand(CS)are mixed to repair damaged structures on coral islands.However,CS is significantly different from land-sourced sand in mineral composition,particle morphology,and strength.This has a substantial impact on the hydration characteristics and macroscopic properties of MKPC mortar.Therefore,in this study we investigated the compressive strength,interfacial mechanical properties,and corrosion resistance of MKPC CS mortar.Changes in the morphology,microstructure,and relative contents of hydration products were revealed by scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive spectrometer(SEM-EDS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The results indicated that the compressive strength increased linearly with the interfacial micro-hardness,and then stabilized after long-term immersion in pure water and Na2SO4 solution,showing excellent corrosion resistance.Compared with MKPC river sand(RS)mortar,the hydration products of CS mortar were an intermediate product 6KPO2·8H2O with a relative content of 3.9%at 1 h and 4.1%at 12 h.The hydration product MgKPO_(4)·6H_(2)O increased rapidly after 7-d curing,with an increased growth rate of 1100%.Our results showed that CS promoted the nucleation and formation of hydration products of MKPC,resulting in better crystallinity,tighter overlapping,and a denser interfacial transition zone.The results of this study provide technical support for applying MKPC mortar as a rapid repair material for damaged structures on coral islands.

Performance Analysis of an Efficient Integration System of Coal-Fired Power Plant,Solar Thermal Energy and CO2 Capture

Coal-fired power plant is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions.The post-combustion capture is a promising method for CO2emission reduction but the high thermal demand is unbearable.To address this issue,solar thermal energy and CO2capture are jointly integrated into the coal-fired power plant in this study.The solar thermal energy is employed to meet the heat requirement of the CO2capture process,thereby avoiding the electricity loss caused by self-driven CO2capture.Furthermore,the heat released from the carbonation reaction of MgO adsorbent is integrated into the steam Rankine cycle.By partially substituting the extracted steam for feedwater heating,the electricity output of the power plant is further increased.According to the results from the developed model,the system could achieve a CO2capture rate of 86.5% and an electricity output enhancement of 9.8% compared to the reference system,which consists of a self-driven CO2capture coal-fired power plant and PV generation unit.The operational strategy is also optimized and the amount of CO2emission reduction on a typical day is increased by 11.06%.This work shows a way to combine fossil fuels and renewable energy for low carbon emissions and efficient power generation.

Unsupervised Video Object Segmentation via Weak User Interaction and Temporal Modulation

In unsupervised video object segmentation(UVOS), the whole video might segment the wrong target due to the lack of initial prior information. Also, in semi-supervised video object segmentation(SVOS), the initial video frame with a fine-grained pixel-level mask is essential to good segmentation accuracy. It is expensive and laborious to provide the accurate pixel-level masks for each training sequence. To address this issue, We present a weak user interactive UVOS approach guided by a simple human-made rectangle annotation in the initial frame. We first interactively draw the region of interest by a rectangle, and then we leverage the mask RCNN(region-based convolutional neural networks) method to generate a set of coarse reference labels for subsequent mask propagations. To establish the temporal correspondence between the coherent frames, we further design two novel temporal modulation modules to enhance the target representations. We compute the earth mover’s distance(EMD)-based similarity between coherent frames to mine the co-occurrent objects in the two images, which is used to modulate the target representation to highlight the foreground target. We design a cross-squeeze temporal modulation module to emphasize the co-occurrent features across frames, which further helps to enhance the foreground target representation. We augment the temporally modulated representations with the original representation and obtain the compositive spatio-temporal information, producing a more accurate video object segmentation(VOS) model. The experimental results on both UVOS and SVOS datasets including Davis2016,FBMS, Youtube-VOS, and Davis2017, show that our method yields favorable accuracy and complexity. Identification of S-RNase genotype and analysis of its origin and evolutionary patterns in Malus plants

Identification of the S genotype of Malus plants will greatly promote the discovery of new genes,the cultivation and production of apple,the breeding of new varieties,and the origin and evolution of self-incompatibility in Malus plants.In this experiment,88 Malus germplasm resources,such as Aihuahong,Xishuhaitang,and Reguanzi,were used as materials.Seven gene-specific primer combinations were used in the genotype identification.PCR amplification using leaf DNA produced a single S-RNase gene fragment in all materials.The results revealed that 70 of the identified materials obtained a complete S-RNase genotype,while only one S-RNase gene was found in 18 of them.Through homology comparison and analysis,13 S-RNase genotypes were obtained:S_(1)S_(2)(Aihuahong,etc.),S_(1)S_(28)(Xixian Haitang,etc.),S_(1)S_(51)(Hebei Pingdinghaitang),S_(1)S_(3)(Xiangyangcun Daguo,etc.),S_(2)S_(3)(Zhaiyehaitang,etc.),S_(3)S_(51)(Xishan 1),S_(3)S_(28)(Huangselihaerde,etc.),S_(2)S_(28)(Honghaitang,etc.),S_(4)S_(28)(Bo 11),S_(7)S_(28)(Jiuquan Shaguo),S_(10)S_e(Dongchengguan 13),S_(10)S_(21)(Dongxiangjiao)and S_(3)S_(51)(Xiongyue Haitang).Simultaneously,the frequency of the S gene in the tested materials was analyzed.The findings revealed that different S genes had varying frequencies in Malus resources,as well as varying frequencies between intraspecific and interspecific.S_(3) had the highest frequency of 68.18%,followed by S_(1)(42.04%).In addition,the phylogenetic tree and origin evolution analysis revealed that the S gene differentiation was completed prior to the formation of various apple species,that cultivated species also evolved new S genes,and that the S_(50) gene is the oldest S allele in Malus plants.The S_(1),S_(29),and S_(33) genes in apple-cultivated species,on the other hand,may have originated in M.sieversii,M.hupehensis,and M.kansuensis,respectively.In addition to M.sieversii,M.kansuensis and M.sikkimensis may have also played a role in the origin and evolution of some Chinese apples.

Automatic Monitoring System for 3-D Deformation of Crustal Fault Based on Laser and Machine Vision

An automatic monitoring method of the 3-D deformation is presented for crustal fault based on laser and machine vision. The laser source and screen are independently set up in the headwall and footwall, the collimated laser beam creates a circular spot on the screen, meanwhile, the industrial camera captures the tiny deformation of the crustal fault by monitoring the change of the spot position. This method significantly reduces the cost of equipment and labor, provides daily sampling to ensure high continuity of data. A prototype of the automatic monitoring system is developed, and a repeatability test indicates that the error of spot jitter can be minimized by consecutive samples. Meanwhile, the environmental correction model is determined to ensure that environmental changes do not disturb the system. Furthermore, the automatic monitoring system has been applied at the deformation monitoring station(KJX02) of China Beishan underground research laboratory, where continuous deformation monitoring is underway.

在野外恶劣环境应用中,可以使用具有灵活性和便捷性的无人机(UAV),通过无线数据传输辅助携带用户任务到边缘服务器。然而,UAV飞行平台难以提供长时间的任务卸载服务,大大限制了其应用前景。本文研究了在移动边缘计算环境中,如何有效整合UAV的任务卸载和充电调度。首先,构建了一个新的应用模型,该模型协同处理UAV的任务卸载调度和自身充电需求,并在UAV辅助任务卸载应用场景中加入了若干个无线充电平台。其次,考虑了用户任务的价值和UAV的充电需求,以在时延敏感和能量约束的条件下优化UAV辅助用户设备进行任务卸载的收益。最后,采用深度强化学习算法,对深度Q网络(DQN)进行调优后形成Fixed DQN算法,以有效处理模型中的大规模状态动作搜索空间问题。本文以UAV仅作为任务载体并考虑其自主充电需求为前提,通过在一个半径为3000 m、含有11个节点的区域验证Fixed DQN算法的可行性;并在不同用户节点数量、充电节点数量及服务时间条件下,通过与蚁群算法、遗传算法和DQN算法的对比实验评估其性能。实验结果表明:本文提出的Fixed DQN算法在所有测试条件下均显著优于蚁群算法、遗传算法和DQN算法,特别是在节点数量增加和服务时间延长的情景中;此外,Fixed DQN算法相对于DQN算法的性能提升突显了深度强化学习在参数调优方面的有效性。研究结果证实了Fixed DQN算法在解决UAV任务卸载和充电调度问题中的高效性和调参策略的重要性。

如何有效地提取和融合不同模态的特征是高光谱图像和激光雷达数据联合分类的关键。近年来,得益于深度学习强大的特征学习能力,其在高光谱图像和激光雷达数据联合分类领域受到了越来越多的关注。然而,现有的深度学习模型大多基于监督学习的模式,分类性能依赖标注样本的数量和质量。为此,本文提出了一种基于模态间匹配学习的联合分类方法,充分利用未标注样本的信息,减少对标注信息的依赖性。具体而言,本文首先通过高光谱图像和激光雷达数据之间的匹配关系和KMeans聚类算法,构造模态匹配标签。然后,利用该标签训练含有多个卷积层的匹配学习网络。该网络由两个并行分支构成,每个分支负责提取单个模态的特征。最后,以该网络为基础,构造高光谱图像和激光雷达数据联合分类模型。该模型的参数由匹配学习网络进行初始化,因而只需要少量标注样本进行微调即可达到理想的分类效果。为了验证本文方法的有效性,在Houston和MUUFL两个常用的高光谱图像和激光雷达数据联合分类数据集上进行了大量的实验。实验结果表明,与已有的分类模型相比,本文方法能够获得更高的分类性能。
