A novel ultrasonic-assisted low-temperature soldering was developed to join AZ31B Mg alloy and 6061 Al alloy with a series of Sn–x Zn solders. The average maximum shear strength of the joints reaches up to 87.5 MPa at soldering temperature of 300 °C under ultrasonic assistance for only 5 s using Sn–20 Zn solder. The fracture path propagates completely in the soldering seam. The results indicate that the microjet generated by ultrasonic pressure in liquid solder could strike and splinter the Mg_2Sn intermetallic compounds into small pieces, which contributes to the enhancement of the joint strength. In addition, the primary Al(Zn) solid solution phase formed during cooling stage could also strengthen the joint due to the prevention of microcracks propagation.

High-performance multiphoton-pumped lasers based on cesium lead halide perovskite nanostructures are promising for nonlinear optics and practical frequency upconversion devices in integrated photonics. However, the performance of such lasers is highly dependent on the quality of the material and cavity, which makes their fabrication challenging. Herein, we demonstrate that cesium lead halide perovskite triangular nanorods fabricated via vapor methods can serve as gain media and effective cavities for multiphoton-pumped lasers. We observed blue-shifts of the lasing modes in the excitation fluence-dependent lasing spectra at increased excitation powers, which fits well with the dynamics of Burstein-Moss shifts caused by the band filling effect. Moreover, efficient multiphoton lasing in CsPbBr3 nanorods can be realized in a wide excitation wavelength range （700-1,400 nm）. The dynamics of multiphoton lasing were investigated by time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy, which indicated that an electron-hole plasma is responsible for the multiphoton-pumped lasing. This work could lead to new opportunities and applications for cesium lead halide perovskite nanostructures in frequency upconversion lasing devices and optical interconnect systems.

Cuticular wax is a natural barrier on terrestrial plant organs,which protects plants from damages caused by a variety of ***,we report the identification and functional characterization of a cuticular-wax-related gene,Zea mays ***-ROLLED LEAF 5(ZmSRL5).The loss-of-function mutant srl5,which was created by a 3,745 bp in-sertion in the first intron that led to the premature tran-script,exhibited abnormal wax crystal morphology and distribution,which,in turn,caused the pleiotropic pheno-types including increased chlorophyll leaching and water loss rate,decreased leaf temperature,sensitivity to drought,as well as semi-rolled mature ***,total wax amounts showed no significant difference between wild type and semi-rolled leaf5(srl5)*** phenotype of srl5 was confirmed through the generation of two allelic mutants using CRISPR/***5 encodes a CASPARIAN-STRIP-MEMBRANE-DOMAIN-LIKE(CASPL)protein located in plasma membrane,and highly expressed in developing *** analysis showed that the expressions of the most wax related genes were not affected or slightly al-tered in *** study,thus,primarily uncovers that ZmSRL5 is required for the structure formation of the cu-ticular wax and could increase the drought tolerance by maintaining the proper cuticular wax structure in maize.

The strong anisotropic electrical properties of one-dimensional(1 D) nanostructure semiconductors,especially the anisotropic carrier transport, have a negative and significant influence on the performance of solar cells if the nanostructures have random orientation. Considering the advantages of nanorod solar cells in carrier transport, we have achieved growth of vertically aligned Sb_(2)Se_(3) nanorod array with highly(hk1) orientation on Cd S substrate, and constructed superstrate nanorod solar cells for the first time. The Sb_(2)Se_(3) nanorod array solar cells exhibit the more efficient and long-range carrier transport in vertical direction. Furthermore, in order to suppress interface recombination, a CuInSe_(2) quantum dots(QDs) sensitizer has been applied to fill the volume between the nanorods completely, thus forming an interpenetrating nanocomposite structure. The CuInSe_(2) QDs can harvest additional light by absorption of visible light and contribute photocurrent. Meantime, the QDs function as a hole transport material and thus reduce the dependence of lateral transport. Consequently, the interpenetrating nanocomposite CuInSe_(2) / Sb_(2)Se_(3) solar cells display a power conversion efficiency of 7.54% with significant enhancements in the short-circuit current density and open-circuit voltage over pure Sb_(2)Se_(3) nanorod cells. This is the highest efficiency for superstrate solar cells based on Sb_(2)Se_(3) nanorod arrays.

The area of East China Sea(ECS)inner shelf is an important sink of suspended particulates from Yangtze River(YR)and materials originated from YR *** this study,the parameters of lignin and alkane biomarkers in surface sediment samples from ECS inner shelf were determined to distinguish the sources and to trace the transport of terrigenous organic matters in the *** dataset showed that total alkanes with carbon numbers from 10 to 38(T-alkanes)were significantly correlated to both TAR(terrigenous/aquatic ratio)and HMW/LMW(the ratio of high molecular weight to low molecular weight alkanes)(r=0.88,P<0.05 for both),indicating that the majority of T-alkanes was predominantly originated from terrestrial sources,and T-alkanes are important constituents of terrestrial organic matters in the study *** area was probably affected by petroleum pollution to a certain degree,as indicated by the values of carbon preference index(CPI),odd-over-even carbon number predominance(OEP)and the ratio of pristane to phytane(Pr/Ph).The values of Pr/n-C_(17) and Ph/n-C_(18) suggested a strong reductive sedimentary condition in the region with no obvious *** content of eight lignin phenols(Σ8)decreased from the coast to the open sea,indicative of riverine input and hydrodynamic transport of terrigenous organic *** degradation parameters presented an increasing trend from the coastline toward the open *** lignin vegetation parameters and alkane index(AI)suggested the predominance of non-woody angiosperms in the YR *** obvious correlation betweenΛ8(Σ8 normalized to 100 mg organic carbon),TAR and HMW/LMW reveals the significantly concurrent input of lignin and alkanes from terrestrial sources.

Atrial fibrillation(AF)is a frequent arrhythmia associated with cardiovascular morbidity and *** extracellular traps(NETs)are DNA fragments with cytoplasm proteins released from neutrophils,which are involved in various cardiovascular *** elucidate the role of NETs in AF,we investigated the effect of NETs on AF progression and the secretion of NETs in *** showed that:NETs induced the autophagic apoptosis of cardiomyocytes,and NETs also led to mitochondrial injury by promoting mitochondrial depolarization and ROS *** tachy-pacing led to the structural loss of cardiomyocytes and provided potent stimuli to induce NETs secretion from *** the meanwhile,increased Ang II in AF facilitated NETs formation through the upregulation of AKT phosphorylation,while it could not directly initiate NETosis as the autophagy was not *** vivo,DNase I was administrated to abrogate NETs formation,and AF-related fibrosis was ameliorated as ***,the duration of the induced AF was *** study addresses the formation mechanism of NETs in AF and demonstrates the lethal effects of NETs on cardiomyocytes through the induction of mitochondrial injury and autophagic cell death,which comprehensively describes the positive feedback comprised of NETs and stimuli secreted by cardiomyocytes that sustains the progression of AF and AF related fibrosis.
