Numerical and experimental investigation on hydraulic-electric rock fragmentation of heterogeneous granite

Hydraulic-electric rock fragmentation(HERF)plays a significant role in improving the efficiency of high voltage pulse rock ***,the underlying mechanism of HERF remains *** this study,considering the heterogeneity of the rock,microscopic thermodynamic properties,and shockwave time domain waveforms,based on the shockwave model,digital imaging technology and the discrete element method,the cyclic loading numerical simulations of HERF is achieved by coupling electrical,thermal,and solid mechanics under different formation temperatures,confining pressure,initial peak voltage,electrode bit diameter,and loading ***,the HERF discharge system is conducive to the laboratory experiments with various electrical parameters and the resulting broken pits are numerically reconstructed to obtain the geometric *** results show that,the completely broken area consists of powdery rock *** the pre-broken zone,the mineral cementation of the rock determines the transition of type CⅠcracks to type CⅡand type CⅢ***,the peak pressure of the shockwave increased with initial peak voltage but decreased with electrode bit diameter,while the wave front time ***,increasing well depth,formation temperature and confining pressure augment and inhibit HERF,but once confining pressure surpassed the threshold of 60 MPa for 152.40,215.90,and 228.60 mm electrode bits,and 40 MPa for 309.88 mm electrode bits,HERF is ***,for the same kind of rock,the volume and width of the broken pit increase with higher initial peak voltage and rock fissures will promote ***,the electrode drill bit with a 215.90 mm diameter is more suitable for drilling pink *** research contributes to a better microscopic understanding of HERF and provides valuable insights for electrode bit selection,as well as the optimization of circuit parameters for HERF technology.

Multi-modal image matching is crucial in aerospace applications because it can fully exploit the complementary and valuable information contained in the amount and diversity of remote sensing ***,it remains a challenging task due to significant non-linear radiometric,geometric differences,and noise across different *** improve the performance of heterologous image matching,this paper proposes a normalized self-similarity region descriptor to extract consistent structural *** first construct the pointwise self-similarity region descriptor based on the Euclidean distance between adjacent image blocks to reflect the structural properties of multi-modal ***,a linear normalization approach is used to form Modality Independent Region Descriptor(MIRD),which can effectively distinguish structural features such as points,lines,corners,and flat between multi-modal *** further improve the matching accuracy,the included angle cosine similarity metric is adopted to exploit the directional vector information of multi-dimensional feature *** experimental results show that the proposed MIRD has better matching accuracy and robustness for various multi-modal image matching than the state-of-the-art *** can effectively extract consistent geometric structure features and suppress the influence of SAR speckle noise using non-local neighboring image blocks operation,effectively applied to various multi-modal image matching.

This work aims to investigate the mechanical properties and interfacial characteristics of 6061 Al alloy plates fabricated by hotroll bonding(HRB)based on friction stir *** results showed that ultimate tensile strength and total elongation of the hot-rolled and aged joints increased with the packaging vacuum,and the tensile specimens fractured at the matrix after exceeding 1 ***-equilibrium grain boundaries were formed at the hot-rolled interface,and a large amount of Mg_(2)Si particles were linearly precipitated along the interfacial grain boundaries(IGBs).During subsequent heat treatment,Mg_(2)Si particles dissolved back into the matrix,and Al_(2)O_(3) film remaining at the interface eventually evolved into *** addition,the local IGBs underwent staged elimination during HRB,which facilitated the interface healing due to the fusion of grains at the *** process was achieved by the dissociation,emission,and annihilation of dislocations on the IGBs.

This paper studied the thermal physical properties of foundation materials in the molten salt tank of thermal energy storage system after molten salt leakage by Transient plane source experiment and X-ray computed microtomography simulation *** microstructure,thermal properties and pressure resistance with different particle diameters were *** measured heat conductivities from Transient plane source experiment for three cases are 0.49 W/(m·K),0.48 W/(m·K),and 0.51 W/(m·K),and the porosity is 30.1%,30.7%,and 31.2% *** heat conductivity simulating results of three cases are 0.471 W/(m·K),0.482W/(m·K),and 0.513 W/(m·K).The ratio of difference between the results of simulation and Transient plane source measurement is as low as 1.2%,verifying the reliability of experimental and simulation results to a certain *** with the heat conductivity of 0.097-0.129 W/(m·K) and porosity of 71.6%-78.9% without leaking salt,the porosity is reduced by more than 50% while the heat conductivity increased by 4 to 5 times after molten salt *** significant increase in heat conductivity has a great impact on security operation,structure design,and modeling of the tank foundation for solar power plants.

Shape memory polymers (SMPs) and their composites (SMPCs) are smart materials that can be stably deformed and then return to their original shape under external stimulation, thus having a memory of their shape. Three-dimensional (3D) printing is an advanced technology for fabricating products using a digital software tool. Four-dimensional (4D) printing is a new generation of additive manufacturing technology that combines shape memory materials and 3D printing technology. Currently, 4D-printed SMPs and SMPCs are gaining considerable research attention and are finding use in various fields, including biomedical science. This review introduces SMPs, SMPCs, and 4D printing technologies, highlighting several special 4D-printed structures. It summarizes the recent research progress of 4D-printed SMPs and SMPCs in various fields, with particular emphasis on biomedical applications. Additionally, it presents an overview of the challenges and development prospects of 4D-printed SMPs and SMPCs and provides a preliminary discussion and useful reference for the research and application of 4D-printed SMPs and SMPCs.

Objective To systematically summarize the published literature on the genetic variants associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods Literature from Web of Science,PubMed,and Embase between January 1980 and September 2022 was systematically ***-analyses of the genetic variants were conducted using at least five data *** epidemiologic credibility of the significant associations was graded using the Venice *** Based on literature screening,399 eligible studies were included,comprising 381 candidate gene association,16 genome-wide association,and 2 whole-exome sequencing *** identified 465 genetic variants in 173 genes in candidate gene association studies,and 25 genetic variants in 17 genes were included in the *** meta-analysis identified 11 variants in 10 genes that were significantly associated with NAFLD,with cumulative epidemiological evidence of an association graded as strong for two variants in two genes(HFE,TNF),moderate for four variants in three genes(TM6SF2,GCKR,and ADIPOQ),and weak for five variants in five genes(MBOAT7,PEMT,PNPLA3,LEPR,and MTHFR).Conclusion This study identified six variants in five genes that had moderate to strong evidence of an association with NAFLD,which may help understand the genetic architecture of NAFLD risk.

Using CO_(2)and oxidants for in situ regeneration of permeable reactive barriers for leachate-contaminated groundwater

Groundwater contamination near landfills is commonly caused by leachate leakage,and permeable reactive barriers(PRBs)are widely used for groundwater ***,the deactivation and blockage of the reactive medium in PRBs limit their long-term *** the current study,a new methodology was proposed for the in situ regeneration of PRB to remediate leachate-contaminated ***_(2)coupled with oxidants was applied for the dispersion and regeneration of the fillers;by injecting CO_(2)to disperse the fillers,the permeability of the PRB was increased and the oxidants could flow evenly into the *** results indicate that the optimumfiller proportion was zero-valent iron(ZVI)/zeolites/activated carbon(AC)=3:8:10 and the optimum oxidant proportion was COD/Na_(2)S_(2)O_(8)/H_(2)O_(2)/Fe^(2+)=1:5:6:5;the oxidation system of Fe^(2+)/H_(2)O_(2)/S_(2)O_(8)^(2−)has a high oxidation efficiency and *** average regeneration rate of zeolites was 72.71%,and the average regeneration rate of AC was 68.40%;the permeability of PRB also *** technology is effective for the remediation of landfills in China that have large contaminated areas,an uneven pollutant concentration distribution,and a long pollution *** purification mode of long-term adsorption and short-time in situ oxidation can be applied to the remediation of long-term high-concentration organically polluted groundwater,where pollution sources are difficult to cut off.

Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction(NO_(3)RR)offers a unique rationale for green NH_(3) synthesis,yet the lack of high-efficiency NO_(3)RR catalysts remains a great *** this work,we show that Au nanoclusters anchored on TiO_(2) nanosheets can efficiently catalyze the conversion of NO_(3)RR-to-NH_(3) under ambient conditions,achieving a maximal Faradic efficiency of 91%,a peak yield rate of 1923μg·h^(-1)·mgcat.-1,and high durability over 10 consecutive cycles,all of which are comparable to the recently reported metrics(including transition metal and noble metal-based catalysts)and exceed those of pristine TiO_(2).Moreover,a galvanic Zn-nitrate battery using the catalyst as the cathode was proposed,which shows a power density of 3.62 mW·cm^(-2) and a yield rate of 452μg·h^(-1)·mgcat.-*** simulations further indicate that the atomically dispersed Au clusters can promote the adsorption and activation of NO_(3)-species,and reduce the NO_(3)RR-to-NH_(3) barrier,thus leading to an accelerated cathodic *** work highlights the importance of metal clusters for the NH_(3) electrosynthesis and nitrate removal.

Reservoir computing(RC)is an energy-efficient computational framework with low training cost and high efficiency in processing spatiotemporal *** state-of-the-art fully memristor-based hardware RC system suffers from bottlenecks in the computation efficiencies and accuracy due to the limited temporal tunability in the volatile memristor for the reservoir layer and the nonlinearity in the nonvolatile memristor for the readout ***,integrating different types of memristors brings fabrication and integration *** overcome the challenges,a multifunctional multi-terminal electrolyte-gated transistor(MTEGT)that combines both electrostatic and electrochemical doping mechanisms is proposed in this work,integrating both widely tunable volatile dynamics with high temporal tunable range of 10^(2) and nonvolatile memory properties with high long-term potentiation/long-term depression(LTP/LTD)linearity into a single *** ion-controlled physical RC system fully implemented with only one type of MTEGT is constructed for image recognition using the volatile dynamics for the reservoir and nonvolatility for the readout ***,an ultralow normalized mean square error of 0.002 is achieved in a time series prediction *** is believed that the MTEGT would underlie next-generation neuromorphic computing systems with low hardware costs and high computational performance.
