Sepsis one-hour bundle management combined with psychological intervention on negative emotion and sleep quality in patients with sepsis

BACKGROUND Sepsis is a serious infectious disease caused by various systemic inflammatory responses and is ultimately *** usually experience depression and anxiety,which affect their sleep quality and post-traumatic growth *** To investigate the effects of sepsis,a one-hour bundle(H1B)management was combined with psychological intervention in patients with *** This retrospective analysis included 300 patients with sepsis who were admitted to Henan Provincial People’s hospital between June 2022 and June *** to different intervention methods,the participants were divided into a simple group(SG,n=150)and combined group(CG,n=150).H1B management was used in the SG and H1B management combined with psychological intervention was used in the *** changes of negative emotion,sleep quality and post-traumatic growth and prognosis were compared between the two groups before(T0)and after(T1)*** After intervention(T1),the scores of the Hamilton Anxiety scale and Hamilton Depression scale in the CG were significantly lower than those in the SG(Plity,sleep efficiency,daytime dysfunction,sleep disturbance dimension score,and the total score in the CG were significantly lower than those in the SG(Plife,mental changes,relationship with others,personal strength dimension score,and total score of the CG were significantly higher than those of the SG(Plity of the CG were significantly lower than those of the SG(P<0.05).CONCLUSION H1B management combined with psychological intervention can effectively alleviate the negative emotions of patients with sepsis and inc

Otitis media with effusion is one of the most common diseases in children. Its treatment remains controversial. Clinical practice guidelines of OME allow watchful waiting for 3 months before treatment if the child with OME is not at risk for speech/language/or learning problems. Tympanostomy tube insertion is the preferred initial procedure when a child becomes a surgical candidate. Complementary or alternative medicine is not recommended as a treatment for OME. This paper provides a systematic review of management of OME, which we hope will be helpful for clinicians.

Thrombosis and inflammation are primary contributors to the onset and progression of ischemic *** contact-kinin pathway,initiated by plasma kallikrein(PK)and activated factor XII(FXIIa),functions bidirectionally with the coagulation and inflammation cascades,providing a novel target for therapeutic drug development in ischemic *** this study,we identified a bat-derived oligopeptide from Myotis myotis(Borkhausen,1797),designated LE6(Leu-Ser-Glu-Glu-Pro-Glu,702 Da),with considerable potential in stroke therapy due to its effects on the contact kinin ***,LE6 demonstrated significant inhibitory effects on PK and FXIIa,with inhibition constants of 43.97μmol/L and 6.37μmol/L,*** vitro analyses revealed that LE6 prolonged plasma recalcification time and activated partial thromboplastin *** murine models,LE6 effectively inhibited carrageenan-induced mouse tail thrombosis,FeCl3-induced carotid artery thrombosis,and photochemically induced intracerebral ***,LE6 significantly decreased inflammation and stroke injury in transient middle cerebral artery occlusion ***,the low toxicity,hemolytic activity,and bleeding risk of LE6,along with its synthetic simplicity,underscore its clinical *** conclusion,as an inhibitor of FXIIa and PK,LE6 offers potential therapeutic benefits in stroke treatment by mitigating inflammation and preventing thrombus formation.

A growing body of evidence suggests that the gut microbiota contributes to the development of neurodegenerative diseases via the microbiota-gut-brain *** a contributing factor,microbiota dysbiosis always occurs in pathological changes of neurodegenerative diseases,such as Alzheimer’s disease,Parkinson’s disease,and amyotrophic lateral ***-throughput sequencing technology has helped to reveal that the bidirectional communication between the central nervous system and the enteric nervous system is facilitated by the microbiota’s diverse microorganisms,and for both neuroimmune and neuroendocrine ***,we summarize the bioinformatics analysis and wet-biology validation for the gut metagenomics in neurodegenerative diseases,with an emphasis on multi-omics studies and the gut *** pathogen-associated signaling biomarkers for identifying brain disorders and potential therapeutic targets are also ***,we discuss the role of diet,prebiotics,probiotics,postbiotics and exercise interventions in remodeling the microbiome and reducing the symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases.

Synergistic Effects of Glutamine Deprivation and Metformin in Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Objective The metabolic reprogramming of acute myeloid leukemia(AML)cells is a compensatory adaptation to meet energy requirements for rapid *** study aimed to examine the synergistic effects of glutamine deprivation and metformin exposure on AML *** SKM-1 cells(an AML cell line)were subjected to glutamine deprivation and/or treatment with metformin or bis-2-(5-phenylacetamido-1,2,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)ethyl sulfide(BPTES,a glutaminase inhibitor)or *** viability was detected by Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8)assay,and cell apoptosis and reactive oxygen species(ROS)by flow *** blotting was conducted to examine the levels of apoptotic proteins,including cleaved caspase-3 and poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase(PARP).Moreover,the human long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)microarray was used to analyze gene expression after glutamine deprivation,and results were confirmed with quantitative RT-PCR(qRT-PCR).The expression of metallothionein 2A(MT2A)was suppressed using *** growth and apoptosis were further detected by CCK-8 assay and flow cytometry,respectively,in cells with MT2A *** Glutamine deprivation or treatment with BPTES inhibited cell growth and induced apoptosis in SKM-1 *** lncRNA microarray result showed that the expression of MT family genes was significantly upregulated after glutamine ***2A knockdown increased apoptosis,while proliferation was not affected in SKM-1 *** addition,metformin inhibited cell growth and induced apoptosis in SKM-1 *** glutamine deprivation and metformin enhanced the sensitivity of SKM-1 cells to ***,the combination of glutamine deprivation with metformin exhibited synergistic antileukemia effects on SKM-1 *** Targeting glutamine metabolism in combination with metformin is a promising new therapeutic strategy for AML.
