Cardiac fibrosis caused by ventricular remodeling and dysfunction such as post-myocardial infarction(MI)can lead to heart *** N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)methylation has been shown to play a pivotal role in the occurrence and development of many *** investigating the biological function of the m^(6)A reader YTHDF1 in cardiac fibrosis,adeno-associated virus 9 was used to knock down or overexpress the YTHDF1 gene in mouse hearts,and MI surgery in vivo and transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)-activated cardiac fibroblasts in vitro were performed to establish fibrosis *** results demonstrated that silencing YTHDF1 in mouse hearts can significantly restore impaired cardiac function and attenuate myocardial fibrosis,whereas YTHDF1 overexpression could further enhance cardiac dysfunction and aggravate the occurrence of ventricular pathological remodeling and fibrotic ***,zinc finger BED-type containing 6 mediated the transcriptional function of the YTHDF1 gene ***1 augmented AXL translation and activated the TGF-β-Smad2/3 signaling pathway,thereby aggravating the occurrence and development of cardiac dysfunction and myocardial ***,our data indicated that YTHDF1 was involved in activation,proliferation,and migration to participate in cardiac fibrosis in *** results revealed that YTHDF1 could serve as a potential therapeutic target for myocardial fibrosis.

Petrology and geochemistry of clastic sedimentary rocks as evidences for provenance of the Late Palaeozoic Madzaringwe Formation, Tshipise-Pafuri Basin, South Africa

Petrography and geochemistry(major, trace and rare earth elements) of clastic rocks from the Late Palaeozoic Madzaringwe Formation, in the Tshipise-Pafuri Basin, Northern South Africa, have been investigated to understand their provenance. Sandstone petrography and detrital modes indicates that the Late Palaeozoic succession was derived from craton interior and recycled orogen provenance. Sandstones in the Madzaringwe Formation are sub-arkosic to sub-litharenite. The sediments may represent a recycled to craton interior provenance. The geochemical data of major elements show that sandstone and shales have the same source. The study of paleoweathering conditions based on modal composition, chemical index of alteration(CIA) and A-CN-K(Al2O3-Ca O+Na2O-K2O) relationships indicate that probably chemical weathering in the source area and recycling processes have been more important in shale and sandstone rocks. The relatively high CIA values(70–90%) indicates moderate to high weathering conditions of the samples and the paleoclimate of the source area was warm. K2O/Na2 O versus Si O2 and Na2O-Ca O-K2 O tectonic setting discrimination plots, suggest a passive continental margin. In the study of trace elements, triangular Th-Sc-Zr/10 and La-Th-Sc plots both suggest a passive margin setting of the basin. Petrographic and geochemical results of the samples suggest uplifted basement source areas dominated by sedimentary rocks and/or granite-gneiss rocks. The source rocks might have been the recycled pre-Soutpansberg Karoo Supergroup rocks and the metasedimentary rocks of the Soutpansberg Group. Other source rocks may have been the pre-Beit-Bridge basement rocks(granites and gneisses).

Evolution of Apatites in the Diagenesis

Apatites occurring in sedimentary rocks are carbonate fluorapatites (C-F apatites) with differentCO_2 contents. During diagenesis. the CO_2 in the C-F apatites gradually decreased with the increasing strengthof diagenesis. resulting in the systematic changes in refractive index. specific gravity, cell parameters and crystalchemistry of apatites. On the basis of X-ray diffraction and IR spectroscopic analyses, the author proposes twoparameters for determining diagenetic stages. i.e.. the crystallinity index (CR) and sharpness index (SH). Thesetwo parameters serve as new criteria for the determination. which due to the common existence of phosphorousnodules and bands and argillo-crystalline cement in sedimentary rocks, most likely have wide prospects for ap-plication.

Classification and Diagenetic Characteristics of the Cretaceous Sandstones in the Southern Bredasdorp Basin,Offshore South Africa

A systematic petrographic and geochemical studies of 92 representative sandstone samples from exploration wells E-AH1,E-AJ1,E-BA1,E-BB1 and E-D3 in the southern part of the Bredasdorp Basin was undertaken to classify the sandstones as well as unravel the main diagenetic processes and their time *** study shows that the sandstones are largely subarkosic arenite and arkosic litharenite,which have underwent series of diagenetic processes as a result burial,rifting and subsequent *** main diagenetic processes that have affected the reservoir properties of the sandstones are cementation by authigenic clay,carbonate and silica,growth of authigenic glauconite,dissolution of minerals and load *** major diagenetic processes reducing the porosity are calcite cementation in the subarkosic arenite,and compaction and quartz cementation in arkosic *** the other hand,the formation of secondary porosity due to the partial to complete dissolution of early calcite cement,feldspars and minor grain fracturing has improved the reservoir property of the sandstone to some *** clay minerals in the sandstones commonly acts as pore choking cement,which reduces *** general,there is no particular diagenetic process that exclusively controls the type or form of porosity evolution in the sandstones.

Geochemical Evaluation of the Permian Ecca Shale in Eastern Cape Province, South Africa:Implications for Shale Gas Potential

Shale gas has been the exploration focus for future energy supply in South Africa in recent time. Specifically, the Permian black shales of the Prince Albert, Whitehill, Collingham, Ripon and Fort Brown Formations are considered to be most prospective rocks for shale gas exploration. In this study,outcrop and core samples from the Ecca Group were analyzed to assess their total organic carbon(TOC), organic matter type, thermal maturity and hydrocarbon generation potential. These rocks have TOC ranging from 0.11 to 7.35 wt%. The genetic potential values vary from 0.09 to 0.53 mg HC/g,suggesting poor hydrocarbon generative potential. Most of the samples have Hydrogen Index(HI) values of less than 50 mg HC/g TOC, thus suggesting Type-Ⅳ kerogen. Tmax values range from 318℃ to601℃, perhaps indicating immature to over-maturity of the samples. The vitrinite reflectance values range from 2.22% to 3.93%, indicating over-maturity of samples. Binary plots of HI against Oxygen Index(OI), and HI versus Tmax show that the shales are of Type II and mixed Type Ⅱ-Ⅲ *** on the geochemical data, the potential source rocks are inferred as immature to over-matured and having present-day potential to produce gas.

Ischemic heart failure(HF)remains a leading cause of morbidity and *** homeostasis of cardiac function and preventing cardiac remodeling deterioration are critical to halting HF ***-like protein 13(Mettl13)has been shown to regulate protein translation efficiency by acting as a protein lysine methyltransferase,but its role in cardiac pathology remains *** study aims to characterize the roles and mechanisms of Mettl13 in cardiac contractile function and *** found that Mettl13 was downregulated in the failing hearts of mice post-myocardial infarction(MI)and in a cellular model of oxidative ***-specific overexpression of Mettl13 mediated by AAV9-Mettl13 attenuated cardiac contractile dysfunction and fibrosis in response to MI,while silencing of Mettl13 impaired cardiac function in normal ***,Mettl13 overexpression abrogated the reduction in cell shortening,Ca^(2+)transient amplitude and SERCA2a protein levels in the cardiomyocytes of adult mice with ***,knockdown of Mettl13 impaired the contractility of cardiomyocytes,and decreased Ca^(2+)transient amplitude and SERCA2a protein expression in vivo and in ***,Mettl13 impaired the stability of c-Cbl by inducing lysine methylation of c-Cbl,which in turn inhibited ubiquitination-dependent degradation of ***,the inhibitory effects of knocking down Mettl13 on SERCA2a protein expression and Ca^(2+)transients were partially rescued by silencing c-Cbl in H_(2)O_(2)-treated *** conclusion,our study uncovers a novel mechanism that involves the Mettl13/c-Cbl/SERCA2a axis in regulating cardiac contractile function and remodeling,and identifies Mettl13 as a novel therapeutic target for ischemic HF.

利用Dynaform有限元软件对某离合器盖总成传动带的成形回弹过程进行数值模拟,分析了传动带回弹前与回弹后的应力分布,传动带回弹前与回弹后圆角处的最大应力值分别为871.805和339.947 MPa,应力值的减小使得板料发生回弹。研究了弯曲角度、板料厚度及模具间隙对传动带成形高度的影响。结果表明：传动带的成形高度随着弯曲角度及模具间隙的增大而逐渐增加,而随着板料厚度的增加呈现逐渐减小的趋势。此外,设计传动带成形模进行实验验证,成形高度的实验值与模拟值的误差为7.55%~9.18%,吻合性较好。其中模具间隙为1.1t时,成形高度的实验值为4.98 mm,符合产品的设计要求4.9~5.45 mm,且实验值与模拟值的误差为8.84%。
