FPGA-based position reconstruction method for neutron beam flux spatial distribution measurement in BNCT

A new measurement method for the spatial distribution of neutron beam flux in boron neutron capture therapy(BNCT)is being developed based on the two-dimensional Micromegas detector.To address the issue of long processing times in traditional offline position reconstruction methods,this paper proposes a field programmable gate array based online position reconstruction method utilizing the micro-time projection chamber principle.This method encapsulates key technical aspects:a self-adaptive serial link technique built upon the dynamical adjustment of the delay chain length,fast sorting,a coordinate-matching technique based on the mapping between signal timestamps and random access memory(RAM)addresses,and a precise start point-merging technique utilizing a circular combined RAM.The performance test of the selfadaptive serial link shows that the bit error rate of the link is better than 10-12 at a confidence level of 99%,ensuring reliable data transmission.The experiment utilizing the readout electronics and Micromegas detector shows a spatial resolution of approximately 1.4 mm,surpassing the current method’s resolution level of 5 mm.The beam experiment confirms that the readout electronics system can obtain the flux spatial distribution of neutron beams online,thus validating the feasibility of the position reconstruction method.The online position reconstruction method avoids traditional methods,such as bubble sorting and traversal searching,simplifies the design of the logic firmware,and reduces the time complexity from O(n2)to O(n).This study contributes to the advancement in measuring neutron beam flux for BNCT.

BACKGROUND This study presents an evaluation of the computed tomography lymphangio-graphy(CTL)features of lymphatic plastic bronchitis(PB)and primary chylotho-rax to improve the diagnostic accuracy for these two diseases.AIM To improve the diagnosis of lymphatic PB or primary chylothorax,a retrospective analysis of the clinical features and CTL characteristics of 71 patients diagnosed with lymphatic PB or primary chylothorax was performed.METHODS The clinical and CTL data of 71 patients(20 with lymphatic PB,41 with primary chylothorax,and 10 with lymphatic PB with primary chylothorax)were collected retrospectively.CTL was performed in all patients.The clinical manifestations,CTL findings,and conventional chest CT findings of the three groups of patients were compared.The chi-square test or Fisher's exact test was used to compare the differences among the three groups.A difference was considered to be statistically significant when Pkening in 12(60.0%),11(26.8%)and 3(30.0%)patients;bronchovascular bundle thickening in 14(70.0%),6(14.6%)and 4(40.0%)patients;localized mediastinal changes in 14(70.0%),14(34.1%),and 7(70.0%)patients;diffuse mediastinal changes in 6(30.0%),5(12.2%),and 3(30.0%)patients;cystic lesions in the axilla in 2(10.0%),6(14.6%),and 2(20.0%)patients;and cystic lesions in the chest wall in 0(0%),2(4.9%),and 2(4.9%)patients.CONCLUSION CTL is well suited to clarify the characteristics of l

Chiral transfer amidst one-dimensional linear polymers and twodimensional network covalent organic frameworks:Striking a fine balance between helicity and crystallinity

The current landscape of chiral covalent organic frameworks(COFs)predominantly centered on constructing asymmetric molecular-scale chirality,often introducing an inherent contradiction to the COF symmetry and limiting diversity.Herein,we overcome these challenges by achieving chiral transfer between one-dimensional(1D)imine linear polymers(LPs)and two-dimensional(2D)networkβ-ketoenamine COFs composed of achiral monomers.We successfully synthesize several 1D imine LPs with mesoscopic helical chirality,comprising achiral C2-symmetric terephthalaldehyde and diamine linkers in a chiral supramolecular transcription system.Leveraging the irreversible tautomerism mechanism within the linker replacement approach,terephthalaldehyde(TPA)units in these helical 1D LPs are substituted with C3-symmetric 1,3,5-triformylphloroglucinol(TP),yielding the corresponding 2D networkβ-ketoenamine COFs.Crystallinity and helicity of the resultantβ-ketoenamine COFs intimately hinge on reaction conditions,including the aldehyde stoichiometry of Tp and TPA,as well as the quantity and concentration of the catalyst employed.Under optimized conditions,the nucleation and growth were precisely governed,achieving a harmonious equilibrium of crystallinity and helicity within the generated 2D networkβ-ketoenamine COFs,even with covalent bond rupture,recombination,and topological transition(from[C2+C2]to[C3+C2]).Impressively,the ground state chirality inherent to helical 1D LPs seamlessly transfers to helical 2D networkβ-ketoenamine COFs.This study not only offers new perspectives on the development of chiral functional COFs,but also provides fresh insights into the precise control of COFs'microscopic morphology.

磁学与拓扑物理是两大较为成熟的学科,二者的结合是新一代磁电子学的需求和基础.磁性拓扑材料是磁序与拓扑物理耦合的重要产物,为新兴的拓扑物理提供了材料载体和调控自由度.磁性外尔半金属实现了时间反演对称破缺下的外尔费米子拓扑物态,通过拓扑增强的贝利曲率产生了一系列新奇的磁/电/热/光效应;而外尔电子与磁序的相互作用也使得拓扑电子物理有望成为磁电子学应用的新原理和驱动力.当前,新物态与新效应的发现是磁性拓扑材料第一阶段的主要任务和特征,而动量空间拓扑电子与实空间磁序的相互作用已经开始进入人们的视野.这两个阶段的深入发展,将为拓扑磁电子学积累必要的物理基础和应用尝试.本文着眼于磁性拓扑材料发展的两个阶段,讲述磁性拓扑材料的提出和实现、均一磁序下的拓扑电子态及新奇物性、局域磁态与拓扑电子的相互作用3个方面,阐述当前领域内的热点内容和发展趋势,并对拓扑磁电子学的未来发展进行了思考和展望,以助力未来拓扑自旋量子器件的快速发展.

Heterogeneity and differential hydrocarbon accumulation model of deep reservoirs in foreland thrust belts: A case study of deep Cretaceous Qingshuihe Formation clastic reservoirs in southern Junggar Basin, NW China

Using the data of drilling, logging, core, experiments and production, the heterogeneity and differential hydrocarbon accumulation model of deep reservoirs in Cretaceous Qingshuihe Formation(K1q) in the western section of the foreland thrust belt in southern Junggar Basin are investigated. The target reservoirs are characterized by superimposition of conglomerates, sandy conglomerates and sandstones, with high content of plastic clasts. The reservoir space is mainly composed of intergranular pores. The reservoirs are overall tight, and the sandy conglomerate has the best physical properties. The coupling of short deep burial period with low paleotemperature gradient and formation overpressure led to the relatively weak diagenetic strength of the reservoirs. Specifically, the sandy conglomerates show relatively low carbonate cementation, low compaction rate and high dissolution porosity. The special stress-strain mechanism of the anticline makes the reservoirs at the top of the anticline turning point more reformed by fractures than those at the limbs, and the formation overpressure makes the fractures in open state. Moreover, the sandy conglomerates have the highest oil saturation. Typical anticline reservoirs are developed in deep part of the thrust belt, but characterized by "big trap with small reservoir". Significantly, the sandy conglomerates at the top of anticline turning point have better quality, lower in-situ stress and higher structural position than those at the limbs,with the internal hydrocarbons most enriched, making them high-yield oil/gas layers. The exponential decline of fractures makes hydrocarbon accumulation difficult in the reservoirs at the limbs. Nonetheless, plane hydrocarbon distribution is more extensive at the gentle limb than the steep limb.

Proteins play a central role in all domains of life,and precise regulation of their activity is essential for understanding the related biological processes and therapeutic functions.Nucleic acid aptamers,the molecular recognition components derived from systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment(SELEX),can specifically identify proteins with antibody-like recognition characteristics and help to regulate their activity.This minireview covers the SELEX-based selection of protein-binding aptamers,membrane protein analytical techniques based on aptamer-mediated target recognition,aptamer-mediated functional regulation of proteins,including membrane receptors and non-membrane proteins(thrombin as a model),as well as the potential challenges and prospects regarding aptamer-mediated protein manipulation,aiming to supply some useful information for researchers in this field.

One-step Eco-friendly Fabrication of Antibacterial Polyester Via On-line Amination Reaction by Melt Coextrusion

The work is dedicated to develop a one-step eco-friendly method to prepare antibacterial polyethylene terephthalate(PET).We report a one-step eco-friendly method to manufacture antibacterial PET via on-line amination reaction by melt coextrusion.Beside evenly mixing of poly(hexamethylene guanidine)(PHMG)and PET in the melt coextrusion procedure,the amination reaction also occurred between PHMG and PET under high temperature(230-270℃).The antibacterial ability of composite PET showed obvious PHMG concentration dependence,and antibacterial activity reached more than 99%when PHMG content was 2.5 wt%.Moreover,LIVE/DEAD fluorescence test further confirmed that the composite PET could kill bacteria quickly and efiectively(within 30 min);while negligible cytotoxicity was observed to HSF and HUVEC cells.Onestep eco-friendly fabrication of composite antibacterial PET was accomplished by on-line melt coextrusion.The composite antibacterial PET has potential use in multiple fields to combat with pathogenic including textiles,packaging materials,decoration materials and biomedical devices,etc.

This prospective multicenter phase II study evaluated the clinical efficacy of neoadjuvant nivolumab-exclusive(N)and nivolumab–chemotherapy(N/C)combinations based on PD-L1 expression.Eligible patients exhibited resectable clinical stage IIA–IIIB(AJCC 8th edition)NSCLC without EGFR/ALK alterations.Patients received either mono-nivolumab(N)or nivolumab+nabpaclitaxel+carboplatin(N/C)for three cycles based on PD-L1 expression.The primary endpoint was the major pathological response(MPR).key secondary endpoints included the pathologic complete response(pCR),objective response rate(ORR),and event-free survival(EFS).Baseline PD-L1 expression and perioperative circulating tumor DNA(ctDNA)status were correlated with pCR and EFS.Fifty-two patients were enrolled,with 46 undergoing surgeries.The MPR was 50.0%(26/52),with 25.0%(13/52)achieving pCR,and 16.7%and 66.7%for patients with PD-L1≥50%in N and N/C groups,respectively.Thirteen(25.0%)patients experienced grade 3 or higher immune-related adverse events during neoadjuvant treatment.Patients with post-neoadjuvant ctDNA negativity was more likely to have pCR(39.1%)compared with those remained positive(6.7%,odds ratio=6.14,95%CI 0.84-Inf,p=0.077).With a median follow-up of 25.1 months,the 18-month EFS rate was 64.8%(95%CI 51.9–81.0%).For patients with ctDNA–vs.ctDNA+,the 18m-EFS rate was 93.8%vs 47.3%(HR,0.15;95%CI 0.04,0.94;p=0.005).Immunochemotherapy may serve as an optimal neoadjuvant treatment even for patients with PD-L1 expression≥50%.ctDNA negativity following neoadjuvant treatment and surgery could help identify superior pathological and survival benefits,which requires further confirmation in a prospective clinical trial(NCT04015778).

Enhanced photothermal dehydration of methanol over W_(18)O_(49)/Au/SAPO-34 catalysts with broadened light absorption

Methanol-to-olefins(MTO)process is one of the most critical pathways to produce low carbon olefins.Typically,the reaction is driven by thermal catalysis,which inevitably needs to consume large amounts of fossil fuel.Developing a new technique to substitute for the fuel burning is urgent for MTO process to improve the industry prospects and sustainability.Herein,we report a novel W_(18)O_(49)/Au/SAPO-34(W/Au/S),a multifunctional photothermal catalyst for the MTO reaction.A high methanol conversion was achieved under xenonum(Xe)lamp irradiation,yielding methyl ether(ME)and ethylene as the main products.The optimized W/Au/S catalysts showed ethylene yield as high as 250μmol in 60 min,which was 2.5 times higher than that of Au/SAPO-34.The physiochemical characterization revealed that the SAPO-34 molecular sieves were surrounded by Au and W_(18)O_(49)nanoparticles,which exhibited a strong localized surface plasmon resonance excitation around 540 nm and light absorption beyond 500 nm.The multifunctional catalysts showed a strong photothermal effect,arising from the broadened light absorption of Au and W_(18)O_(49)nanoparticles,leading to a temperature as high as 250℃on the surface of the catalysts.Mechanism study showed that the superior ethylene selectivity of W/Au/S catalysts was attributed to the moderating acidic sites of W_(18)O_(49)for methanol dehydration to ethylene.This research may provide new insight for designing heterostructures to improve photo-to-chemical conversion performance and is expected to accelerate progress toward the excellent multifunctional photothermal catalysts with broad light absorption for methanol activation and C-C bond formation.
