An electroencephalographic(EEG)signature of auditory hallucinations(AHs)is important for facilitating the diagnosis and treatment of AHs in schizophrenia.We recorded EEG from 25 schizophrenia patients with recurrent AHs.During the period of AHs,EEG recordings exhibited significantly elevated beta2-band power in the temporal region,as compared to those recorded in the absence of AHs or during stimulation with verbal sounds.We further generated methamphetamine-treated rhesus monkeys exhibiting psychosis-like behaviors,including repetitive sudden searching actions in the absence of external intrusion,suggesting the occurrence of AHs.Epidural EEG beta2-band power in the temporal region of these monkeys was enhanced immediately after methamphetamine treatment and positively correlated with the frequency of sudden searching actions.Thus,the enhancement of temporal beta2-band oscillations represents a signature for AHs in both patients and a monkey model of psychosis,and this monkey model can be used for developing closed-loop neuromodulation approaches for the treatment of refractory AHs in schizophrenia.

The 28 nm process has a high cost-performance ratio and has gradually become the standard for the field of radiation-hardened devices.However,owing to the minimum physical gate length of only 35 nm,the physical area of a standard 6T SRAM unit is approximately 0.16μm^(2),resulting in a significant enhancement of multi-cell charge-sharing effects.Multiple-cell upsets(MCUs)have become the primary physical mechanism behind single-event upsets(SEUs)in advanced nanometer node devices.The range of ionization track effects increases with higher ion energies,and spacecraft in orbit primarily experience SEUs caused by high-energy ions.However,ground accelerator experiments have mainly obtained low-energy ion irradiation data.Therefore,the impact of ion energy on the SEU cross section,charge collection mechanisms,and MCU patterns and quantities in advanced nanometer devices remains unclear.In this study,based on the experimental platform of the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou,low-and high-energy heavy-ion beams were used to study the SEUs of 28 nm SRAM devices.The influence of ion energy on the charge collection processes of small-sensitive-volume devices,MCU patterns,and upset cross sections was obtained,and the applicable range of the inverse cosine law was clarified.The findings of this study are an important guide for the accurate evaluation of SEUs in advanced nanometer devices and for the development of radiation-hardening techniques.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal medicines(CHMs)combined with chemical drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease(AD).Materials and Methods:Databases were searched to retrieve randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of CHMs combined with tacrine,galantamine,rivastigmine,donepezil,or memantine,following strict inclusion and exclusion criteria.Only research papers published in English,Chinese,and Japanese were considered.The primary outcome was the mini-mental state examination(MMSE)score and the secondary outcomes were AD assessment scale cognitive subscale(ADAS-Cog)score and safety evaluation.Meta-analysis was carried out using Rev Man 5.3 and subgroup analysis was conducted to identify the sources of heterogeneity.Results:A total of 15 RCTs with 1386 participants were included in this study.Only donepezil was used in the retrieved literature.Meta-analyses showed that the combination of CHMs with donepezil led to significant improvement in the MMSE score(Z=9.45;P<0.00001;weighted mean difference[WMD]=2.68,95%confidence interval[CI]:2.12-3.24)and a significant decrease in the ADAS-Cog score(Z=5.53;P<0.00001;WMD=-3.79;95%CI:-5.13--2.44).Safety evaluation demonstrated that these combination treatments relieved adverse events such as insomnia(risk ratio[RR]=0.20,95%CI:0.06-0.68;P=0.01)and hive(RR=0.10;95%CI:0.01-0.73;P=0.02).Conclusions:The combination of CHMs with a chemical drug like donepezil led to significant improvements in patient cognition as well as a better safety profile when compared to the application of a chemical drug alone.

Whole genome SNPs among 8 chicken breeds enable identification of genetic signatures that underlie breed features

Many different chicken breeds are found around the world,their features vary among them,and they are valuable resources.Currently,there is a huge lack of knowledge of the genetic determinants responsible for phenotypic and biochemical properties of these breeds of chickens.Understanding the underlying genetic mechanisms that explain across-breed variation can help breeders develop improved chicken breeds.The whole-genomes of 140 chickens from 7 Shandong native breeds and 20 introduced recessive white chickens from China were re-sequenced.Comparative population genomics based on autosomal single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)revealed geographically based clusters among the chickens.Through genome-wide scans for selective sweeps,we identified thyroid stimulating hormone receptor(TSHR,reproductive traits,circadian rhythm),erythrocyte membrane protein band 4.1 like 1(EPB41L1,body size),and alkylglycerol monooxygenase(AGMO,aggressive behavior),as major candidate breed-specific determining genes in chickens.In addition,we used a machine learning classification model to predict chicken breeds based on the SNPs significantly associated with recourse characteristics,and the prediction accuracy was 92%,which can effectively achieve the breed identification of Laiwu Black chickens.We provide the first comprehensive genomic data of the Shandong indigenous chickens.Our analyses revealed phylogeographic patterns among the Shandong indigenous chickens and candidate genes that potentially contribute to breed-specific traits of the chickens.In addition,we developed a machine learning-based prediction model using SNP data to identify chicken breeds.The genetic basis of indigenous chicken breeds revealed in this study is useful to better understand the mechanisms underlying the resource characteristics of chicken.

Owing to the unique structure,anode-free lithium metal batteries（AFLMBs） have higher energy density and lower production cost than traditional lithium metal batteries（LMBs） or lithium-ion batteries（LIBs）,However,AFLMBs suffer from an inherently finite Li reservoir and exhibit poor cycle stability,low Coulombic efficiency（CE） and severe dendrite growth.In this work,polydiallyl lithium disulfide（PDS-Li） was successfully synthesized and coated on Cu current collector by electrochemical polymerization.The PDS-Li acts as an additional lithium resource to compensate for the irreversible loss of lithium during cycling.In addition,the special structure and lithiophilicity of PDS-Li contribute to lower nucleation overpotential and uniform lithium deposition.When coupled with Li-rich manganese-based（LRM）cathode of Li1.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13O2,the anode-free full cell exhibits significantly improved cycle stability over 100 cycles and capacity retention of 63.3% and 57% after 80 and 100 cycles,respectively.We believe that PDS-Li can be used to ensure stable cycling performance and high-energy-density in AFLMBs.

Anode Catalytic Dependency Behavior on Ionomer Content in Direct CO Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell

In this work,the effect of Nafion ionomer content on the structure and catalytic performance of direct CO polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell(CO-PEMFC)by using Rh-N-C single-atom catalyst as the anode catalyst layers was studied.The ionic plaque and roughness of the anode catalyst layers increase with the increase of Nafion ionomer content.Furthermore,the contact angle measurement results show that the hydrophilicity of the anode catalyst layers also increases with the increase of Nafion ionomer content.However,when the Nafion ionomer content is too low,the binding between microporous layers,catalyst layers and membrane cannot meet the requirement for either electric conductivity or mass transfer.While Nafion ionomer content increased above 30%,the content of water in anode is difficult to control.Therefore,it was found that AN 30(30%Nafion ionomer content of anode)is the best level to effectively extend the three-phase boundary and improve CO-PEMFCs performance.

Knocking down AR promotes osteoblasts to recruit prostate cancer cells by altering exosomal circ-DHPS/miR-214-3p/CCL5 pathway

Tumor-derived exosomes have been shown to play a key role in organ-specific metastasis,and the androgen receptor regulates prostate cancer(PCa)progression.It is unclear whether the androgen receptor regulates the recruitment of prostate cancer cells to the bone microenvironment,even bone metastases,through exosomes.Here,we found that exosomes isolated from PCa cells after knocking down androgen receptor(AR)or enzalutamide treatment can facilitate the migration of prostate cancer cells to osteoblasts.In addition,AR silencing or treatment with the AR antagonist enzalutamide may increase the expression of circular RNA-deoxyhypusine synthase(circ-DHPS)in PCa cells,which can be transported to osteoblasts by exosomes.Circ-DHPS acts as a competitive endogenous RNA(ceRNA)against endogenous miR-214-3p to promote C-C chemokine ligand 5(CCL5)levels in osteoblasts.Increasing the level of CCL5 in osteoblasts could recruit more PCa cells into the bone microenvironment.Thus,blocking the circ-DHPS/miR-214-3p/CCL5 signal may decrease exosome-mediated migration of prostate cancer cells to osteoblasts.

A green efficient photoredox-catalyzed decarboxylative alkynylation of carboxylic acids with alkynyl bromides has been developed.This broadly applicable protocol is presented whereinα-amino,aliphatic andα-oxy acids are converted into useful alkynylation products.The commercially-available organic photocatalyst 4CzIPN is used as the photocatalyst,organic base DBU is utilized as the base,and DMSO serves as solvent.This strategy features mild conditions,is metal-free,and is environmentally friendly.The batch and continuous-flow protocols described were applied to obtain a broader substrate scope of functionalization(more than 50 examples).Furthermore,we demonstrate that the use of microflow technology enhanced and intensified the reaction process,achieving significantly reduced reaction times(i.e.,10 min of residence time).
