Proton induced X-ray emission (PIXE) analysis of sources of porcelain body of Ru Guan and Jun Guan porcelains

34 samples of Ru Guan porcelain body and 50 samples of Jun Guan porcelain body (both kinds being in different body colors) were selected with the purpose of finding out the source of raw materials and their classification relationship so as to search for ways of non-destructive discrimination. Proton induced X-ray emission (PIXE) has been applied to these samples to determine their chemical elements. The data of seven major chemical elements collected from these samples were further studied through fuzzy cluster analysis. Results indicate that the origin of raw materials of Jun Guan porcelain body samples is comparatively more concentrated in certain places, while that of Ru Guan porcelain body samples is scattered about. The places of origin of raw materials of the majority of Ru Guan and Jun Guan porcelain body samples have something in common, but some differences still exist. It might be an important way for non-destructive discrimination among Ru Guan and Jun Guan porcelains by combining PIXE with fuzzy cluster analysis.

Hollow core slabs are becoming of increasing interest as the construction industry attempts to minimise the impact of its activities on the environment. By forming voids in the interior of a concrete slab, the amount of concrete used can be reduced without significantly altering the capacity of the structure. In this study, we examined the inner force transfer mechanism of a column-supported cast-in-situ hollow core slab using finite element analysis. Both a hollow core slab and the corresponding solid slab were analysed using ANSYS and the results were compared. The orientation of the tube fillers causes the stiffness of the hollow slab to be orthotropic, potentially changing the distribution of load carried in the two orthogonal directions. Both the cross-section’s moments in the column strip and near the columns in the hollow core slab become larger than that in the solid floor. As well, the cross-section’s stiffness along the tube arrangement direction is larger than that of the radial cross-section, which causes the direction along the hole of the hollow core slab to carry more moment than the radial direction. The conversion factors of the two directions are proposed from the comparison for four typical areas of the hollow core slab, as are the moment distribution coefficients.

The integral equations describing the cascade γ deexcitation processes are provided to calculate the ground state and the isomeric state cross sections in the neutron radiative capture. In the initial conditions, the contributions of the pre-equilibrium and the primary γ transitions after statistical equilibrium are considered simultaneously. The numerical calculations have been done forCo andRh in the neutron incident energy region between 0.1 and 3 MeV. The calculation results are compared with those of the experiments and some simple discussions are presented.

The evaluation of covariance data for 65, 63, NatCu in the energy range from 99.5 keV to 20 MeV was carried out using EXPCOV and SPC code based on the experimental data available. The data can be as a part of the covariance file 33 in the evaluated library in ENDF/B6 format for the corresponding nuclides, and also can be used as the basis of theoretical calculation concerned.

The aim of this paper is to theoretically explain the abnormal protuberances near and above 5.5 MeV in the gamma spectra of the (n,γ) reactions of the nuclei within the nuclear mass regions from 110 to 140 and from 180 to 210, respectively. Supposing that in the primary and cascade gamma de-excitation processes of the compound nucleus, in addition to the giant dipole resonance model, there exist the de-excitation processes of the excited states of ~6He, ~6Li, ~6Be, ~7Li and ~7Be particle cliques, for which the gamma-ray strength function was developed. The (n,γ)reaction cross sections and the gamma energy spectra at the neutron incident energies from 0.01 MeV to 3 MeV forAu were calculated and the results are in better coincidence with the experimental data. Especially for the gamma energy spectra, the abnormal protuberances near and above 5.5 MeV were reproduced very well.

The neutron radiate capture cross sections of natural Zr are calculated in the neutron incident energy region from 0.01 MeV to 20 MeV. In the calculations, photon transmission coefficients of the compound statistical processes are calculated by solving the cascade gamma deexcitation processes of the compound nucleus. The nonstatistical effects of the neutron radiate captures, the radiate captures in the shape elastic scattering channels and the compound elastic scattering channels as well as the direct-semidirect captures are considered carefully in the calculated energy region. The calculated results are in better agreement with the experimental values.

In this paper, the experimental data of the photonuclear reactions for the nuclidesC,N,O,Al andSi were fitted with the Lorentz curves describing the giant dipole resonances of the photonuclear reactions and the giant dipole resonance parameters (GDRP) of these nuclides were extracted. These GDRP were compiled in the sub-library of the giant dipole resonance parameters for γ-ray(GDP). An updated edition GDP-1.1(Version 1.1) has been set up and used in the nuclear model calculation widely.

The infrared divergence response theory is applied to reorientational relaxation process of magnetic clusters in cluster spin glass(CoF2)0.5 (BaF2)0.2 (NaPO3)0.3 to study the behaviour of low temperature ultrasonic absorption in this system . Our calculation results showed that the reorientational relaxation process makes the main contributions to the magnetic part of the ultrasonic absorption for T 4.0 K , the contributions of the internal process inside the clusters must be considered.
