Based on observations on the core and surface sections of Lower Paleozoic carbonate in the Ordos Basin, petrography research and measurements of TOC, TOS , Ro , XRD, and comparative study with dolomite in modern Coorong Lake, it has been revealed that: ( i ) dolomitization may occur in micrite limestone, gypsum-halite and argillaceous sandstone, and it can be divided into three types: sedimentary penecontemporaneous-early diagenesis, late diagenesis of deep burial and catagenesis of uplift period. However, the crystal cell of the second type less than 35μm in size is most closely associated with gas pool; (ii) the highest content of organic matter (OM) is produced in samples from the argillic dolomite which may be formed by argillaceous fluid through gypsum-halite; (iii) in the evolution process from penecontemporaneous dolomite into stoichiometric dolomite, the crystal order of dolomite and the porosity of its host rock tend to increase, which is favorable to the formation of an available migration

EVA plastic film is the key material for V-process. Through decades of research, special EVA film for V-process has been produced. The film has adequate elongation; its maximum is about 800% in longitudinal direction and 750% in transversal direction. The single width of the film is 2.8 m and the double width is 5.6 m, which is the widest sheet film for V-process in China. Sheets with different thickness ranging from the thickest 0.35 mm to the thinnest 0.08 mm can meet different demands in China. The film can be used not only for V-process of iron castings, but also for the manganese steel railway frog, steel rocking support and side frame castings for train and the steel bridge box for engine truck.

Laser Raman spectroscopy of organic matter in coals and sedimentary rocks has been increasingly investigated to assess thermal *** organic matter such as vitrinite and solid bitumen,as well as isolated kerogen are definitely selected for this purpose,but there has been no systematic report on the Raman spectral parameters directly based on mineral-organic aggregations(MOA)in *** this paper,the Raman spectral characteristics and parameters of MOA in two sets of marine shale samples from southern China with either different TOC contents(TOC=0.10–4.59%)or different maturities(BRo=1.71–4.57%)were *** was found that the Raman technique is very sensitive to the organic matter in *** the TOC content of the shales reaches about 0.60%,perfect Raman spectra with D and G bands derived from organic matter in MOAwere obtained,and the Raman parameters of MOA are in good agreement with those of its associated solid bitumen,and can indicate the thermal maturity just like those of solid *** the Raman parameters of MOA is a potential alternative way to estimate maturity levels of high and over mature shales,especially those lower Paleozoic and Precambrian shales that lack macerals suitable for reflectance or Raman measurements.

Natural gas releasing simulation experiments were carried out in laboratory for researching the gas storage capacity in state of high temperature and high pressure and its gas releasing potential in process of temperature decreasing and decompression. The exiting phase state was studied through measuring gas adsorption of coal and PVT phase calculating of natural gas. Gas volume, gas molecular and isotope compositions in process of temperature decreasing and decompression were measured, natural-gas yields released from the Upper Paleozoic coal strata after later Cretaceous (K3) were calculated and the formation of the reservoir was studied combining with the geological background. The results indicate that natural gas stored in coal has still bigger releasing potential after the uplift of Upper Paleozoic strata. There exists a weak gas supply-effluent equilibrium in the reservoir of Ordos Basin, which is another possible evidence that the Upper Paleozoic gas reservoir may be a deep basin gas reservoir.

Study of genetic evolution of oil inclusion and density of surface oil by measurement of fluorescence lifetime of crude oil and oil inclusion

By using fluorescence lifetime image microscope （FLIM） and time-correlated single photon counting （TCSPC） technique, we measured fluorescence lifetime of crude oils with density of 0.9521-0.7606 g/cm3 and multiple petroleum inclusions from Tazhong uplift of Tarim Basin. As indicated by the test results, crude oil density is closely correlated with average fluorescence lifetime following the regression equation Y=-0.0319X＋0.9411, which can thus be used to calculate density of oil inclusions in relation to fluorescence lifetime and density of corresponding surface crude. For type A oil inclusions showing brown-yellow fluorescence from Tazhong 1 well in Tarim Basin, their average fluorescence lifetime was found to be 2.144-2.765 ns, so the density of surface crude corresponding to crude trapping these oil inclusions is 0.852-0.873 g/cm3, indicating that they are matured oil inclusions trapped at earlier stage ofoil formation. For type B oil inclusions with light yellow-white fluorescence, their average fluorescence lifetime was found to be 4.0294.919 ns, so the density of surface crude corresponding to crude trapping these oil inclusions is 0.784-0.812 g/cm3, indicating that they are higher matured oil inclusions trapped at the second stage of oil formation. For type C oil inclusions showing light blue-green fluorescence, their average fluorescence lifetime was found to be 5.0634.168 ns, so the density of surface crude corresponding to crude trapping these oil inclusions is 0.743-0.779 g/cm3, indicating that they are highly-matured light oil inclusions trapped at the third stage of oil formation.

Dating hydrocarbon generation and migration based on bitumen reflectance

On the basis of thermal maturation theories of organic matter in sediments and an improved Harweil’s method, a method for dating hydrocarbon generation and migration by means of bitumen reflectance has been suggested. A few representative boreholes in the Tazhong Area of the Tarim Basin was investigated by this method. The results indicate that the three phases of bitumen from the Tazhong Area formed during Middle and Late Ordovician, Late Cretaceous-Early Tertiary, and Late Tertiary, respectively. This implicates that there were three phases of hydrocarbon generation and migration occurring in this area during geological history. This study provided a new idea for the geological application of geochemical data of bitumen.

Based on the organic geochemical studies on two typical Carlin-type deposits in southwestern Guizhou, as well as the comparison between the two deposits in terms of geological background,igneous rock, paleo-oilfield, lithofacies and paleogeographical and geochemical features, two kinds of Carlin-type deposit were proposed: Lannigou Type and Getang Type. The former includes Lannigou,Banqi and Yata gold deposits. These deposits are hosted by turbidite, geographically situated in the southwest of the mineralized district, and related genetically to paleo-oilfields. The latter includes Getang, Zimudang and Dachang gold (mercury and thallium) deposits, situated geographically in the northwest of the mineralized district where Emeishan basalt commonly occurs. These deposits are associated with reduction of coaly organic matter.

Via investigating typical Palaeozoic and Mesozoic petroleum-bearing basins in China by using thermal maturation theories of organic matter to improve the conventional Karweil’s method, a new method to reconstruct hydrocarbon-generating histories of source rocks has been suggested. This method, combining geological background with geochemical information makes the calculated VRo closer to the measured one. Moreover, it enables us to make clear the hydrocarbon generation trend of source rocks during geological history. The method has the merits of simple calculation and objective presentation, especially suitable to basins whose sedimentation and tectonic movements are complicated.

A method has been suggested which is based on the homogenization temperatures and other data of fluid inclusions from a reservoir rock, with the combination of burial and geothermal history of the hosted rock, to date the gas reservoir formation. On the basis of this, a case study of the Carboniferous-Permian gas pools in the Ordos Basin has been conducted. The results have shown that the reservoir sandstones of the gas pool were filled by gases during 125-150 Ma, earlier in the southern area and later in the northern area, which is consistent with the basin’s geological and geochemical background under which the gas pools formed.
