OBJECTIVE: To explore the pharmacodynamic effects and potential mechanisms of Shuangling extract against ulcerative colitis(UC). METHODS: The bioinformatics method was used to predict the active ingredients and action targets of Shuangling extract against UC in mice. And the biological experiments such as serum biochemical indexes and histopathological staining were used to verify the pharmacological effect and mechanism of Shuangling extract against UC in mice. RESULTS: The Shuangling extract reduced the levels of seruminterleukin-1β(IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-N), interleukin-6(IL-6) and other inflammatory factors in UC mice and inhibited the inflammatory response. AKT Serine/threonine Kinase 1 and IL-6 may be the main targets of the anti-UC action of Shuangling extract, and the TNF signaling pathway, Forkhead box O signaling pathway and T-cell receptor signaling pathway may be the main signaling pathways. CONCLUSION: The Shuangling extract could inhibit the inflammatory response induced by UC and regulate intestinal immune function through multiple targets and multiple channels, which provided a new option and theoretical basis for anti-UC.

The dynamic failure behavior of CoCrFeNi High-Entropy Alloy(HEA)under plane biaxial stress was investigated in *** dynamic biaxial tensile tests were conducted using an Electromagnetic Biaxial Split Hopkinson Tensile Bar(EBSHTB)*** comparison,the quasi-static uniaxial and biaxial tensile tests,as well as dynamic uniaxial tensile tests,were per-formed respectively.A cruciform specimen suitable for large plastic deformation was designed and employed in the *** Finite Element Method(FEM)verified that the improved cruciform specimen could satisfy the basic *** feasibility of the proposed specimen was further confirmed through loading ***,the quasi-static and dynamic yield loci of the HEA in the first quadrant of the principal stress space were *** results indicate that the alloy exhibits obvious strain hardening effect and strain rate strengthening effect,the yield locus and plastic work contours can be accurately described by Hill'48 criterion.

Spatiotemporal Evolution of Urban Heat Islands and Optimization of Spatial Network Construction in the Central Urban Area of Fuzhou City, China

Although accelerated urbanization has led to economic prosperity,it has also resulted in urban heat island ***,identifying methods of using limited urban spaces to alleviate heat islands has become an urgent *** this study,we assessed the spatiotemporal evolution of urban heat islands within the central urban area of Fuzhou City,China from 2010 to *** assessment was based on a morphological spatial pattern analysis(MSpA)model and an urban thermal environment spatial network constructed us-ing the minimum cumulative resistance(MCR)*** measures for the spatial network were proposed to provide a theor-etical basis for alleviating urban heat *** results show that the heat island area within the study area gradually increased while that of urban cold island area gradually *** core area was the largest of the urban heat island patch landscape elements with a significant impact on other landscape elements,and represented an important factor underlying urban heat island network *** thermal environment network revealed a total of 197 thermal environment corridors and 93 heat island *** locations were then optimized according to the current land use,which maximized the potential of 1599.83 *** based on current land use led to an increase in climate resilience,with effective measures showing reduction in thermal environment spatial network structure and function,contributing to the mitigation of urban heat *** findings support the use of current land use patterns during urban heat island mitigation measure planning,thus providing an important reference basis for alleviating urban heat island effects.

As an important atmospheric circulation system in the mid-high latitudes of East Asia,the Northeast China cold vortex(NCCV)substantially influences weather and climate in this *** far,systematic assessment on the performance of numerical prediction of the NCCVs has not been carried *** on the Beijing Climate Centre(BCC)and the ECMWF model hindcast and forecast data that participated in the Sub-seasonal to Seasonal(S2S)prediction project,this study systematically examines the performance of both models in simulating and forecasting the NCCVs at the sub-seasonal *** results demonstrate that the two models can effectively capture the seasonal variations in the intensity,active days,and spatial distribution of NCCVs;however,the duration of NCCVs is shorter and the intensity is weaker in the models than in the *** analysis shows that the differences in the intensity and location of the East Asian subtropical westerly jet and the wave train pattern from North Atlantic to East Asia may be responsible for the deficient simulation of NCCV events in the S2S ***,in the deterministic forecasts,BCC and ECMWF provide skillful prediction on the anomalous numbers of NCCV days and intensity at a lead time of 4-5(5-6)pentads,and the skill limit of the ensemble mean is 1-2 pentads longer than that of individual *** the probabilistic forecasts of daily NCCV activities,BCC and ECMWF exhibit a forecasting skill of approximately 7 and 11 days,respectively;both models show seasonal dependency in the simulation performance and forecast skills of NCCV events,with better performance in winter than in *** results from this study provide helpful references for further improvement of the S2S prediction of NCCVs.

With lanthanum(La) in agriculture, medicine, and the chemical industry, La shows accumulation in the body, especially in the bone, because of its similar structure to calcium. Moreover, La has a direct role in bone formation regulating osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Nevertheless, bone formation is complex under the regulation of osteogenesis, osteoclastogenesis, and angiogenesis in the bone microenvironment. It is difficult to comprehensively understand the regulation of bone homeostasis from a single kind of ***, some bone microenvironment-related cells and mouse calvaria culture models were used to study the regulatory effect of La-based compound-lanthanum nitrate(La(NO_(3))_(3)) on bone ***(NO_(3))_(3) has good biological safety, and the osteogenic differentiation is significantly increased under La(NO_(3))_(3) treatment for bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMMSC). In contrast, the differentiation,maturation, and bone erosion ability of osteoclasts are significantly decreased. Meanwhile, the angiogenesis ability of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC) is significantly promoted when treated with La(NO_(3))_(3). Furthermore, bone metabolism and angiogenesis are improved under La(NO_(3))_(3) treatment in the calvaria ex vivo culture model and BMMSC-HUVEC co-culture system. These results suggest that La has the beneficial effect of promoting bone metabolism and improving bone formation in the bone microenvironment.

The AFM probe in tapp.ng mode is a continuous process of energy dissipation,from moving away from to intermittent contact with the sample *** present,studies regarding the energy dissipation mechanism of this continuous process have only been reported sporadically,and there are no systematic explanations or experimental verifications of the energy dissipation mechanism in each stage of the continuous *** quality factors can be used to characterize the energy dissipation in TM-AFM *** this study,the vibration model of the microcantilever beam was established,coupling the vibration and damp.ng effects of the microcantilever *** quality factor of the vibrating microcantilever beam under damp.ng was derived,and the air viscous damp.ng when the probe is away from the sample and the air squeeze film damp.ng when the probe is close to the sample were *** addition,the mechanism of the damp.ng effects of different shapes of probes at different tip–sample distances was *** accuracy of the theoretical simplified model was verified using both experimental and simulation methods.A clearer understanding of the kinetic characteristics and damp.ng mechanism of the TM-AFM was achieved by examining the air damp.ng dissipation mechanism of AFM probes in the tapp.ng mode,which was very important for improving both the quality factor and the imaging quality of the TM-AFM *** study’s research findings also provided theoretical references and experimental methods for the future study of the energy dissipation mechanism of micro-nano-electromechanical systems.

Dynamic analysis of beta oscillations in parkinsonian neural networks with the pedunculopontine nucleus under optogenetic control

Clinical experiments have proven that the pedunculopontine nucleus(ppN)plays a crucial role in the modulation of beta oscillations in parkinson’s disease(pD).Here,we propose a new computational framework by introducing the ppN and related synaptic connections to the classic basal ganglia-thalamo-cortical ***,the improved model can not only simulate the basic saturated and beta activities mentioned in previous studies but also produce the normal alpha rhythm that is much closer to physiological ***,the results show that parkinsonian oscillation activities can be controlled and modulated by the connection strength between the ppN and the globus pallidus internal nucleus(Gpi)and the subthalamic nucleus(STN),supporting the fact that ppN is overinhibited in ***,the internal mechanism underlying these state transitions is further explained from the perspective of ***,both deep brain stimulation(DBS)and optogenetic technology are considered effective in terms of abnormal *** when a low-frequency DBS is added to the ppN,beta oscillations can be suppressed,but it is excited again as the DBS’s frequency gradually increases to a larger *** results coincide with the experimental results that low-frequency stimulation of the ppN is effective,and verify the rationality of the ***,we show that optogenetic stimulation of the globus pallidus external(Gpe)expressing excitatory channelrhodopsin(ChR2)can effectively inhibit beta oscillations,whereas exciting the STN and ppN has a limited *** results are consistent with experimental reports suggesting that the symptoms of pD’s movement disorder can be alleviated under the Gpe-ChR2,but not STN-ChR2,*** the functional role of the ppN and the feasibility of optogenetic stimulation remain to be clinically explored,the results obtained help us understand the mechanisms of beta oscillations in pD.

One key strategy to enhance photocatalytic performance is to improve the transfer and separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers by building optimized ***,novel Bi_(4)O_5Br_(2)/NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti)Z-scheme heterojunctions are fabricated and used as photocatalysts for organic pollutant *** NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti)nanosheets are exfoliated via a self-developed alkali solution stripp.ng approach and then uniformly decorated on Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2).The as-prepared Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2)/NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti)presents more than 90%degradation of various pollutants,outperforming the counterpart individual *** various characterization results suggest that the enhanced degradation rate is due to the more intimate face-to-face interfacial contact of the lamellar Z-scheme heterojunction materials,in which the migration path of carriers from the material's interior to the surface can be reduced,in turn enhancing migration efficiency and separation capability significantly.A possible photocatalytic reaction mechanism is proposed based on the photoelectric behaviors,radical trapp.ng experiments and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry *** work promotes the development of new photocatalytic materials for heterojunctions with face-to-face interfacial contacts,as well as the effective purification of wastewater in environmental remediation.

Corneal neuromas,also termed microneuromas,refer to microscopic,irregula rly-shaped enlargements of terminal subbasal nerve endings at sites of nerve damage or *** formation of corneal neuromas results from damage to corneal nerves,such as following corneal pathology or corneal or intraocular surge ***,denervated areas of sensory nerve fibers become invaded by sprouts of intact sensory nerve fibers,and later injured axons regenerate and new sprouts called neuromas *** recent years,analysis of corneal nerve abnormalities including corneal neuromas which can be identified using in vivo confocal microscopy,a non-invasive imaging technique with microscopic resolution,has been used to evaluate corneal neuropathy and ocular surface *** neuromas have been shown to be associated with clinical symptoms of discomfort and dryness of eyes,and are a promising surrogate biomarker for ocular surface diseases,such as neuropathic corneal pain,dry eye disease,diabetic corneal neuropathy,neurotrophic keratopathy,Sjogren's syndrome,bullous keratopathy,post-refra ctive surgery,and *** this review,we have summarized the current literature on the association between these ocular surface diseases and the presentation of corneal microneuromas,as well as elaborated on their pathogenesis,visualization via in vivo confocal microscopy,and utility in monitoring treatment *** current quantitative analysis on neuromas mainly relies on manual annotation and quantification,which is user-dependent and labor-intensive,future direction includes the development of artificial intelligence software to identify and quantify these potential imaging biomarkers in a more automated and sensitive manner,allowing it to be applied in clinical settings more *** imaging and molecular biomarkers may also help elucidate the associations between corneal neuromas and ocular surface diseases.
