Improved and excellent CO sensing properties of Cu-doped TiO_2 nanofibers

Cu-doped TiO2 nanofibers with an average diameter of about 80 nm are synthesized through an electrospinning method. Both anatase and rutile crystallographic structures are found in the fibers based on XRD results. Compared with pure TiO2 nanofibers, the Cu-doped TiO2 nanofibers exhibit improved CO sensing properties at 300°C. The sensitivity of Cu-doped TiO2 nanofibers is up to 3 when the sensor is exposed to 5 ppm CO, and the response and recovery times are about 4 and 8 s, respectively. Good selectivity is also observed in our investigations. These results indicate that the Cu-doped TiO2 nanofibers can be used to fabricate high performance CO sensors in practice.

Many plant mltogen-actlvated protein klnases （MAPKs） play an important role In regulating responses to both ablotlc and biotic stresses. The first reported rice MAPK gene BWMK1 Is Induced by both rice blast （Magnaporthe grisea） Infection and mechanical wounding. For further analysis of Its response to other environmental cues and plant hormones, such as jasmonlc acid （JA）, salicylic acid （SA）, and benzothladlazole （BTH）, the promoter of BWMKf was fused with the coding region of the β-glucuronldase （GUS） reporter gene. Two promoter-GUS constructs with a 1.0- and 2.5-kb promoter fragment, respectively, were generated and transformed into the Japonica rice cultIvars TP309 and Zhonghua 11. Expression of GUS was Induced in the transgenic lines by cold, drought, dark, and JA. However, light, SA, and BTH treatments suppressed GUS expression. These results demonstrate that BWMK1 Is responsive to multiple ablotlc stresses and plant hormones and may play a role In cross-talk between different signaling pathways.

Rapid identification and preliminary evaluation of quality characters of oilseed sunflower by near infrared spectroscopy

To clarify the quality characters,understand the genetic diversity and screen elite lines among different oilseed sunflowers,the contents of crude fat,oleic acid,linoleic acid,palmitic acid and stearic acid of 525 oil sunflowers(including 375 germplasm accessions and 150 inbred lines)were detected by near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS);the genetic variation and correlation analysis of quality traits were also *** results showed that oleic acid and linoleic acid had rich diversities with large variation ranges for each material *** to the relation between crude fat content and palmitic acid content,significantly negative relation with high estimated value existed between oleic acid and linoleic acid content,while stearic acid content positively associated with oleic acid and palmitic acid *** component analysis indicated that 5 quality traits were integrated into 2principal component factors(linoleic acid negative factor and palmitic acid factor)with the contribution rate of 88.191%,which could be used for evaluating sunflower quality.525 oilseed sunflowers were clustered into 3groups with obvious differences of quality characters,materials in Group I had high contents of oleic acid and low crude fat,but the opposite was found in GroupⅢ.59 superior quality accessions were obtained using large-scale and rapid near-infrared spectroscopy,and these excellent materials were verified by the traditional national chemical standard *** research provided materials and significant reference for sunflower genetic research and quality breeding.

Analysis of F_1 hybrid and BC_1 monosomic alien addition line plants from Brassica oleracea × Sinapis alba by GISH

Sterile and semi-fertile F_1 plants were obtained by intergeneric sexual hybridization between paternal Brassica oleracea var. alboglabra (genome CC, 2n=18) and maternal Sinapis alba (genome SS, 2n=24), BC_1 plants were obtained by backcrossing between paternal B. oleracea and ma-ternal semi-fertile F_1 plants. Genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) combined with dual-colour fluorescence in situ hybridization (dcFISH) showed that sterile F_1 plants contained 21 chromosomes consist-ing of one B. oleracea chromosome set and one S. alba chromosome set, belonging to expected hybrids, and semi-fertile F_1 plants contained 30 chromosomes consisting of two B. oleracea chromosome sets and one S. alba chromosome set. It is obvious that the semi-fertile F_1 plants belong to unexpected hybrids. 1―3 trivalents were detected at meiotic metaphase I of semi-fertile F_1 pollen mother cells (PMCs). Different separation ratios of S chromosomes were detected at anaphase I. A monosomic alien addition line (MAAL) was identified by GISH-dcFISH from BC_1 plants; it contained 19 chromosomes consisting of 18 C chromosomes and 1 S chromosome. At meiotic metaphase I, 9 divalents from B. oleracea and one univalent from S. alba could be detected. Sometimes, one putative C-S trivalent could also be detected. The achievement of B. oleracea-S. alba monosomic alien addition lines lays a foundation for gene introgression, location and cloning.

Trends in the Mortality Rate of Major Kidney Diseases—China,2014–2021

Introduction:Kidney disease represents a significant public health issue in China,yet there is a lack of comprehensive knowledge regarding national and regional trends in its mortality and *** study evaluated the mortality,causes,and regional distribution of major kidney diseases in China from 2014 to ***:Data pertaining to kidney disease were obtained from the National Death Cause Surveillance *** were made for both the mortality rates and age-standardized mortality rates(ASMR)for kidney cancer,glomerular disease,tubulointerstitial nephritis,and kidney ***,the average annual percent change(AAPC)was calculated to illustrate trends by sex,urban/rural distinctions,and regional differences from 2014 to ***:There was a significant reduction in the ASMR for all kidney diseases combined from 2014 to *** of age-specific mortality rates reveals a gradual increase beginning at age 35,with a sharp rise after age ***,the ASMR for glomerular disease and kidney failure in females,as well as for tubulointerstitial nephritis in males,displayed a notable ***,the ASMR for glomerular disease in the eastern region and kidney failure in the western region significantly decreased by AAPC of−4.6%and−2.3%,***,the ASMR for kidney cancer in the central region rose significantly(AAPC=2.1%).Conclusion:From 2014 to 2021,the ASMR for major kidney diseases remained high among men,urban residents,and individuals in western *** prevention and control initiatives should prioritize these disparities to mitigate the impact of kidney diseases.
