Evolution model for scientific collaboration network with local-world information

In order to reveal the intrinsic properties of scientific collaboration networks, a new local-world evolution model on a scientific collaboration network is proposed by analysing the network growth mechanism. The act degree as the measurement of preferential attachment is taken, and the local-world information of nodes is taken into account. Analysis and simulation show that the node degree and the node strength obey the power-law distribution. Low average path length and high clustering coefficient are approved. Experiment indicates that the model can depict efficiently the topological structure and statistical characteristics of real-life scientific collaboration networks.

The session initiation protocol （SIP） is used as the signaling protocol in the IP multimedia subsystem （IMS） and the signaling is becoming computing intensive comparing to the current telecommunication network. The SIP is a text-based protocol with characteristics of unordered and verbose headers, variable-size message, and case-insensitive keyword. It imposes challenges for an efficient message processing. The property of SIP elements being able to process SIP messages quickly is critical for the performance of IMS networks. This article investigates the performance of SIP message processed in SIP servers, mainly focusing on improving message parsing by introducing a method named selective parsing for SIP message （SP4SIP）. By modeling and analyzing a SIP server with a tandem Jackson network, it is concluded that parsing messages is the bottleneck of a SIP server performance, i.e., it is the most processing intensive activity in the system. To validate the approach, it has been implemented in a high-performance SIP server in the authors＇ lab. The results show that selective parsing for SIP message can indeed reduce processing time.

For there is no overload control signal between Service Switch Point and Service Control Point at CALEL 2 stage of mobile intelligent network, we provide an overload control algorithm realized in SCP. In the algorithm, we use a leaky bucket controller in access module to filter user calls and set an appropriate finite buffer in SCF module for protection further. The results of analysis and simulation indicate that by making the call arrival rate to SCF module equal its service rate when SCP become overloaded, the call processing rate of SCP system can keep its optimal value.

A new load balancing algorithm named dynamic weighed random （DWR） algorithm for the session initiation protocol （SIP） application server cluster is proposed. It uses weighted hashing random algorithm that supports dialog in the SIP protocol to distribute messages. The weight of each server is dynamic adaptive with feedback mechanism. DWR insures that the cluster is balanced, and it performs better than the limited resource vector （LRV） algorithm and minimum sessions first （MSF） algorithm.

在研究基于软交换的集群媒体服务器的系统特征的基础上,提出了1种LRV(limited resource vector)负载均衡算法并提供了算法的软件实现方法,该算法考虑了异构系统中资源的协调使用并有效防止了系统性能的剧烈变化.通过在负载均衡系统Petri网模型上的大量仿真模拟,对LRV负载均衡算法与其他传统负载均衡算法在系统吞吐量、系统响应时间和性能平稳性几个方面做了比较和分析.结果表明,LRV算法具有更优越的性能,LRV算法的软件实现方法对其他异构集群系统也具有重要参考价值.
