Effect of land use on soil nematode community composition and co-occurrence network relationship

Land use influences soil biota community composition and diversity,and then belowground ecosystem processes and *** characterize the effect of land use on soil biota,soil nematode communities in crop land,forest land and fallow land were investigated in six regions of northern *** richness,diversity,abundance and biomass of soil nematodes was the lowest in crop *** richness and diversity of soil nematodes were 28.8and 15.1%higher in fallow land than in crop land,*** significant differences in soil nematode indices were found between forest land and fallow land,but their network keystone genera composition was *** the keystone genera,50%of forest land genera were omnivores-predators and 36%of fallow land genera were *** proportion of fungivores in forest land was 20.8%lower than in fallow *** network complexity and the stability were lower in crop land than forest land and fallow *** pH,NH_(4)^(+)-N and NO_(3)^(–)-N were the major factors influencing the soil nematode community in crop land while soil organic carbon and moisture were the major factors in forest *** nematode communities in crop land influenced by artificial management practices were more dependent on the soil environment than communities in forest land and fallow *** use induced soil environment variation and altered network relationships by influencing trophic group proportions among keystone nematode genera.

An analysis of the seasonal and vertical distribution of soil nematode communities under three contrasting land uses,i.e.,cropland,abandoned cropland and woodland was conducted in an aquic brown *** results showed that different land-use types affected the spatiotemporal distribution of soil nematodes and their dominant genera,and different dominant genera showed different responses to land *** the abandoned cropland and woodland,most dominant genera were present in the 0–20 cm layers and Chiloplacus was mainly distributed in the 5–30 cm layers,while in the cropland,Pratylenchus exhibited an even distribution from the 0–5 cm to the 40–50 cm *** environmental parameters under different land use could influence soil nematodes;soil porosity,total organic C,total N and the C/N ratio could positively influence the abundance of some dominant *** profiles revealed that environmental stability and the homeostasis in the abandoned cropland and woodland lead to higher levels of community structure,and the soil food web tends to succeed to *** faunal analyses are a useful indicator for interpreting the stress and/or nutrient conditions under different land uses.

Four years of free-air CO_2 enrichment enhance soil C concentrations in a Chinese wheat field

Elevated atmospheric CO2 can influence soil C dynamics in agroecosystems. The effects of free-air CO2 enrichment （FACE） and N fertilization on soil organic C （Corg）, dissolved organic C （DOC）, microbial biomass C （Cmic） and soil basal respiration （SBR） were investigated in a Chinese wheat field after expose to elevated CO2 for four full years. The results indicated that elevated CO2 has stimulative effects on soil C concentrations regardless of N fertilization. Following the elevated CO2, the concentrations of Corg and SBR were increased at wheat jointing stage, and those of DOC and Cmic were enhanced obviously across the wheat jointing stage and the fallow period after wheat harvest. On the other hand, N fertilization did not significantly affect the content of soil C. Significant correlations were found among DOC, Cmic, and SBR in this study.

Responses of Soil Micro-Food Web to Land Use Change from Upland to Paddy Fields with Different Years of Rice Cultivation

Land use changes affect belowground *** the past few decades,land use in Northeast China has changed considerably,and the area of paddy fields has increased rapidly from *** this study,soil characteristics and soil biotic community in paddy fields with different years of rice cultivation were measured to examine the effects of land use change from upland to paddy fields on soil micro-food *** upland maize fields were selected as control and the microbial community composition was characterized using phospholipid fatty acids(PLFAs) *** microbial biomass(total PLFA),bacteria biomass,and fungi biomass were higher in the 20-40-year(late-stage) than 1-10-year(early-stage) paddy *** abundances of total nematodes and bacterivores were lower in the early-stage than late-stage paddy *** abundance of herbivores was the highest in the early-stage paddy fields but that of omnivore-predators was the highest in the late-stage paddy *** equation model indicated that soil food web was developed and structured after 20 years of paddy *** results suggested that soil micro-food web may be a good indicator for soil development and stabilization of paddy fields following land use change.

Effects of vegetation coverage on the spatial distribution of soil nematode trophic groups

The spatial variability of total soil nematodes and trophic groups in bare and fallow plots in Shenyang Experi-mental Station of Ecology,ChineseAcademy of Sciences was examined using geostatistics combined with classic *** showed that the soil pH value had a negative effect on plant-parasites in both bare and fallow plots;the mean number of total nematodes was significantly higher in fallow plots than in bare plots,which was 1485.3 and 464.0 individuals per 100 g dry soil in fallow and bare plots,respectively;the nugget(C_(0))/sill(C_(0)+C)ratio of total nematodes,plant-parasites and bacterivores were lower in fallow plots(27.3%-45.6%)than in bare plots(49.5%-100%);the spatial distribution of total nematodes and trophic groups was found to be different between fallow and bare plots,which indicated that vegetation coverage had an effect on soil nematodes.

Effects of heavy metal pollution of highway origin on soil nematode guilds in North Shenyang, China

Soil samples were collected with distance at 5, 20, 40, 80, 160, and 320 m from the Shen-Ha （Shenyang-Harbin） Highway, Northeast China, to investigate the effect of heavy metals of highway origin on soil nematode guilds. The contents of soil Pb, Cu, Zn, and the nematode community structure were analyzed. The results showed that the contents of total and available Pb, Ca, Zn varied significantly with the different distances from the highway. Pb was the main pollutant in the soils in the vicinity of Shen-Ha Highway. The zone from 20 to 40 m away from the highway was the most polluted area. The highest abundance of soil nematodes was found at 5 m while the lowest at 20 m away from the highway. Thirty six genera of nematodes belonging to 23 families were identified. Nematode guilds having different responses to soil heavy metals were classified into four types. Soil nematode guilds may act as a prominent indicator to heavy metal pollution of highway origin.

Organic amendment effects on nematode distribution within aggregate fractions in agricultural soils

To evaluate the effect of organic amendments on soil nematode community composition and diversity within aggregate fractions,a study was initiated in agricultural soils with four-year organic *** samples were collected from the plow layer(0-20 cm)under three cornfield management scenarios:1)conventional cropping(CK,corn straw removal and no organic manure application);2)straw retention(SR,incorporation of chopped corn stalk);and 3)manure application(MA,chicken manure input).The soil samples were fractionated into four aggregate sizes,i.e.,>2 mm(large macroaggregates),1-2 mm(macroaggregates),0.25-1 mm(small macroaggregates),and1 mm)and only MA treatment strongly increased the mean weight diameter compared to the CK(P<0.05).The abundance of total nematodes and four trophic groups were affected significantly by the aggregate fractions and their higher abundance occurred in the larger *** effects of aggregate size on most nematode genera were *** in the small macroaggregates and microaggregates,and fungivores in the large macroaggregates were significantly different among *** percentage of bacterivores increased after the application of organic materials,while that of fungivores *** can be concluded that organic management significantly affects soil aggregation and soil characteristics within aggregates,and the aggregate size subsequently influences the distribution of nematode communities.

Effect of Cultivation on Spatial Distribution of Nematode Trophic Groups in Black Soil

Geostatistics combined with GIS was applied to assess the spatial distribution of nematode trophic groups following two contrasting soil uses in the black soil region of Northeast China. Two plots, one with fallow for 12 years and the other cultivated, were marked on regular square grids with 2-m spacing. Soil samples were collected from each sampling point, nematodes were extracted from these samples and classified into four trophic groups: bacterivores, fungivores, plant parasites, and omnivores/predators. The numbers of total nematodes and trophic groups analyzed had normal distributions on both fallow and cultivated plots. The absolute abundances of total nematodes and trophic groups were observed to be much more homogeneous on cultivated plot than on fallow one. Geostatistical analysis showed that the densities of total nematodes and trophic groups on both fallow and cultivated plots exhibited spatial dependence at the sampled scale and their experimental semivariograms were adjusted to a spherical or exponential model, except those of bacterivores and fungivores on cultivated plot. The spatial distribution of nematode trophic groups was found to be different for the two land uses, indicating that cultivation changed the native condition for soil nematode activities.

The reliability of a network is an important indicator for maintaining communication and ensuring its stable operation. Therefore, the assessment of reliability in underlying interconnection networks has become an increasingly important research issue. However, at present, the reliability assessment of many interconnected networks is not yet accurate,which inevitably weakens their fault tolerance and diagnostic capabilities. To improve network reliability,researchers have proposed various methods and strategies for precise assessment. This paper introduces a novel family of interconnection networks called general matching composed networks(gMCNs), which is based on the common characteristics of network topology structure. After analyzing the topological properties of gMCNs, we establish a relationship between super connectivity and conditional diagnosability of gMCNs. Furthermore, we assess the reliability of g MCNs, and determine the conditional diagnosability of many interconnection networks.
