Cadmium(Cd)contamination in soil poses a huge threat to plants even at low concentrations;Broussonetia papyrifera has great potential in remediation of soil heavy metal ***,whether exogenous indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)application and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)have synergistic effects on Cd tolerance of *** remains *** investigate the effects of AMF inoculation and IAA application on the tolerance of *** to Cd stress,two experiments were conducted:the first to investigate the effect of AMF(Rhizophagus irregularis)inoculation on the tolerance of *** to Cd stress and the second to investigate the combined effects of AMF inoculation and IAA application on the tolerance of *** to Cd *** including endogenous hormone concentration,antioxidant defense response,malondialdehyde(MDA)content,and gene expression related to antioxidant enzyme system and hormone were *** results indicated that AMF alleviated Cd toxicity of *** by reducing MDA content and improving antioxidant enzyme activities and Cd absorption ***,the combination of AMF inoculation and IAA application had a synergetic effect on the tolerance of *** to Cd stress through upregulating BpAUX1 and BpAUX2,which might contribute to root growth and root xylem synthesis,and by upregulating BpSOD2 and BpPOD34 to enhance the antioxidant enzyme *** work provides a new insight into the application of IAA in the remediation of soil Cd pollution by mycorrhizal plants.

A Review of Type 1 and Type 2 Intraductal Papillary Neoplasms of the Bile Duct

Intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct(IPNB)is a heterogeneous disease similar to intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm of the *** lesions have been recognized as one of the three major precancerous lesions in the biliary tract since *** 2018,Japanese and Korean pathologists reached a consensus,classifying IPNBs into type l and type 2 *** are more prevalent in male patients in East Asia and are closely related to diseases such as cholelithiasis and *** a molecular genetic perspective,IPNBs exhibit early genetic variations,and different molecular pathways may be involved in the tumorigenesis of type 1 and type 2 *** histological subtypes of IPNBs include gastric,intestinal,pancreaticobiliary,or oncocytic subtypes,but type 1 IPNBs typically exhibit more regular and well-organized histological features than type 2 IPNBs and are more commonly found in the intrahepatic bile ducts with abundant *** to the rarity of these lesions and the absence of specific clinical and laboratory features,imaging is crucial for the preoperative diagnosis of IPNB,with local bile duct dilation and growth along the bile ducts being the main imaging *** resection remains the optimal treatment for IPNBs,but negative bile duct margins and the removal of lymph nodes in the hepatic hilum significantly improve the postoperative survival rates for patients with IPNBs.

Autophagy plays a pro-apoptotic role in arsenic trioxide-induced cell death of liver cancer

Objective: The effects of arsenic trioxide(As2O3) on hepatocellular carcinoma have been documented widely. Autophagy plays dual roles in the survival and death of cancer cells. Therefore, we investigated the exact role of autophagy in As2O3-induced apoptosis in liver cancer ***: The viability of hepatoma cells was determined using the MTT assay with or without fetal bovine serum. The rate of apoptosis in liver cancer cells treated with As2O3was evaluated using flow cytometry, Hoechst 33258 staining, and TUNEL assays. The rate of autophagy among liver cancer cells treated with As2O3was detected using immunofluorescence, Western blot assay and transmission electron ***: Upon treatment with As2O3, the viability of HepG2 and SMMC-7721 cells was decreased in a time-and dose-dependent manner. The apoptosis rates of both liver cancer cell lines increased with the concentration of As2O3, as shown by flow cytometry. Apoptosis in liver cancer cells treated with As2O3was also shown by the activation of the caspase cascade and the regulation of Bcl-2/Bax ***, As2O3treatment induced autophagy in liver cancer cells;this finding was supported by Western blot, immunofluorescence of LC3-II and beclin 1, and transmission electron microscopy. In liver cancer cells, As2O3inhibited the phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin(PI3K/AKT/mTOR) signal pathway that plays a vital role in both apoptosis and autophagy. The PI3K activator SC-79 partially reversed As2O3-induced autophagy and apoptosis. Furthermore, inhibiting autophagy with 3-methyladenine partially reversed the negative effects of As2O3on cell *** starvation increased autophagy and amplified the effect of As2O3on cell ***: As2O3induces apoptosis and autophagy in liver cancer cells. A new cyano-bridged complex Eu(DMSO)3(H2O)3Cr(CN)6·H2O with one-dimensional chain molecular structure was synthesized and characterized. The crystal data for the title complex: orthorhombic, P212121, a=0.972 2(3) nm, b=1.489 5(4) nm, c=1.748 6(5)nm, Z=4, μ=3.171 mm-1, final R1=0.020 4, wR2=0.043 4. From magnetic susceptibility measurements the complex was found to exhibit a weak ferromagnetic interaction between the Eu (III) and Cr(III) atoms. CCDC: 272212.

Hierarchically Distributed Optimization with a Flexible and Complexity-Reducing Algorithm

In this paper, the authors consider distributed convex optimization over hierarchical networks. The authors exploit the hierarchical architecture to design specialized distributed algorithms so that the complexity can be reduced compared with that of non-hierarchically distributed *** this end, the authors use local agents to process local functions in the same manner as other distributed algorithms that take advantage of multiple agents' computing resources. Moreover, the authors use pseudocenters to directly integrate lower-level agents' computation results in each iteration step and then share the outcomes through the higher-level network formed by pseudocenters. The authors prove that the complexity of the proposed algorithm exponentially decreases with respect to the total number of pseudocenters. To support the proposed decomposition-composition method for agents and pseudocenters, the authors develop a class of operators. These operators are generalizations of the widely-used subgradient based operator and the proximal operator and can be used in distributed convex optimization. Additionally, these operators are closed with respect to the addition and composition operations; thus, they are suitable to guide hierarchically distributed design and analysis. Furthermore,these operators make the algorithm flexible since agents with different local functions can adopt suitable operators to simplify their calculations. Finally, numerical examples also illustrate the effectiveness of the method.
