Investigations of Water Flow Behaviors Induced by Local Temperature Variations through a Single Rough Fracture for the Enhanced Geothermal Systems

In recent years,Enhanced Geothermal System(EGS)technologies have been applied to the geothermal resources production in the Hot Dry Rock(HDR).The core of EGS technologies is to adopt hydraulic fracturing in the reservoir to create a connected network of discrete fractures with the consideration of water as a working fluid for hydraulic fracturing and heat *** paper investigates the characteristics of water flow behaviors through a single rough fracture under different temperature and pressure conditions.A single fracture model with rough fracture surfaces is constructed and then characterized,and influences of the anisotropic factor on the average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient of water flow through a single fracture with rough surfaces have been compared and *** consideration of other impacting factors(temperature,pressure,fracture roughness),the impact of mass flow rate has also been *** simulation results present that changes of average tortuosity for water flow through a single rough facture are mainly affected by *** can be observed that higher temperature leads to larger average tortuosity but the frictional resistance coefficient shows an opposite *** for pressure conditions,it is found that effects of pressure on average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient is very small,which can be neglected under high pressure ***,the average tortuosity shows a progressively linear relationship with the mass flow *** the contrary,the frictional resistance coefficient has a negative relationship with the mass flow *** is revealed that when the mass flow rate reaches a critical point,the influences of temperature on the frictional resistance coefficient will be *** of single rough fractures with different anisotropic factors show that values of average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient have positive relationships with the increase

Saline wastewater is regarded as a challenge for wastewater treatment plants because high-salinity conditions negatively affect on traditional biological *** granular sludge(AGS)has gained attention as a promising technology for saline wastewater treatment because of its compact structure and the ability to withstand toxic ***,this study investigated the saltresistance performance,sludge properties and microbial community of AGS under low-salinity and high-salinity conditions,with the saline concentrations ranging from 0 to 50 g/*** results showed that AGS could withstand long-term saline stresses,and the maximum salinity reached 50 g/L within 113 *** salinities of 10,30,and 50 g/L,the chemical oxygen demand(COD)removal efficiencies were 90.3%,88.0%and 78.0%,*** also its maintained strength and aggregation at salinities of 10 and 30 g/*** of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)by non-halophilic bacteria that enhanced sludge *** compact structure that ensured the microorganisms bioactivity helped to remove organic matters under salinities of 10 and 30 g/*** a salinity of 50 g/L,moderately halophilic bacteria,including Salinicola,Thioclava,Idiomarina and Albirhodobacter,prevailed in the *** dominant microbial communities shifted to moderately halophilic bacteria,which could maintain aerobic granular stabilization and remove organic matters under 50 g/L *** results in this study provide a further explanation for the long-term operation of AGS for treating saline wastewater at different *** is hoped that this work could bring some clues for the mystery of salt-resistance mechanisms.

High corrosion and wear resistant electroless Ni–P gradient coatings on aviation aluminum alloy parts

A Ni–P alloy gradient coating consisting of multiple electroless Ni–P layers with various phosphorus contents was prepared on the aviation aluminum alloy. Several characterization and electrochemical techniques were used to characterize the different Ni–P coatings’ morphologies, phase structures, elemental compositions, and corrosion protection. The gradient coating showed good adhesion and high corrosion and wear resistance, enabling the application of aluminum alloy in harsh environments. The results showed that the double zinc immersion was vital in obtaining excellent adhesion (81.2 N). The optimal coating was not peeled and shredded even after bending tests with angles higher than 90°and was not corroded visually after 500 h of neutral salt spray test at 35℃. The high corrosion resistance was attributed to the misaligning of these micro defects in the three different nickel alloy layers and the amorphous structure of the high P content in the outer layer. These findings guide the exploration of functional gradient coatings that meet the high application requirement of aluminum alloy parts in complicated and harsh aviation environments.

Failure characteristics and fracture mechanism of overburden rock induced by mining:A case study in China

This study employs similar simulation testing and discrete element simulation coupling to analyze the failure and deformation processes of a model coal seam's *** caving area of the overburden rock is divided into three zones:the delamination fracture zone,broken fracture zone,and compaction *** caving and fracture zones'heights are approximately 110 m above the coal seam,with a maximum subsidence of 11 *** delamination fracture zone's porosity range is between 0.2 and 0.3,while the remainder of the roof predominantly exhibits a porosity of less than *** addition,the numerical model's stress analysis revealed that the overburden rock's displacement zone forms an'arch-beam'structure starting from 160 m,with the maximum and minimum stress values decreasing as the distance of advancement *** the stress beam interval of the overburden rock,the maximum value changes periodically as the advancement distance *** on a comparative analysis between observable data from on-site work and numerical simulation results,the stress data from the numerical simulation are essentially consistent with the actual results detected on-site,indicating the validity of the numerical simulation results.

Mining-induced surface deformation disrupts ecological balance and impedes economic progress. This study employs SBAS-In SAR with 107-view of ascending and descending SAR data from Sentinel-1, spanning February 2017 to September 2020, to monitor surface deformation in the Fa'er Coal Mine, Guizhou Province. Analysis on the surface deformation time series reveals the relationship between underground mining and surface shifts. Considering geological conditions, mining activities, duration, and ranges, the study determines surface movement parameters for the coal mine. It asserts that mining depth significantly influences surface movement parameters in mountainous mining areas. Increasing mining depth elevates the strike movement angle on the deeper side of the burial depth by 22.84°, while decreasing by 7.74° on the shallower side. Uphill movement angles decrease by 4.06°, while downhill movement angles increase by 15.71°. This emphasizes the technology's suitability for local mining design, which lays the groundwork for resource development, disaster prevention, and ecological protection in analogous contexts.

li metal batteries using high-voltage layered oxides cathodes are of particular interest due to their high energy ***,they suffer from short lifespan and extreme safety concerns,which are attributed to the degradation of layered oxides and the decomposition of electrolyte at high voltage,as well as the high reactivity of metallic *** key is the development of stable electrolytes against both highvoltage cathodes and li with the formation of robust interphase films on the ***,we report a highly fluorinated ether,1,1,1-trifluoro-2-[(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)methoxy]ethane(TTME),as a cosolvent,which not only functions as a diluent forming a localized high concentration electrolyte(LHCE),but also participates in the construction of the inner solvation *** TTME-based electrolyte is stable itself at high voltage and induces the formation of a unique double-layer solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)film,which is embodied as one layer rich in crystalline structural components for enhanced mechanical strength and another amorphous layer with a higher concentration of organic components for enhanced *** li||Cu cells display a noticeably high Coulombic efficiency of 99.28%after 300 cycles and li symmetric cells maintain stable cycling more than 3200 h at 0.5 mA/cm^(2) and 1.0m Ah/cm^(2).In addition,lithium metal cells using liNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2) and li CoO_(2) cathodes(both loadings~3.0 m Ah/cm^(2))realize capacity retentions of>85%over 240 cycles with a charge cut-off voltage of 4.4 V and 90%for 170 cycles with a charge cut-off voltage of 4.5 V,*** study offers a bifunctional ether-based electrolyte solvent beneficial for high-voltage li metal batteries.

相比于作为实体的发展中国家群体性兴起,“全球南方”这一术语本身的兴起是新近出现的经验现象。“全球南方”是一个带有规范价值的术语,但其规范意义常被忽视,而“全球南方”兴起的限度,也在于其规范价值所呈现的愿景与现实的张力。“全球南方”的自主性价值体现在,“全球南方”突出了全球化时代发展中国家对依附状态的反抗,追求独立自主的愿景;其限度在于,“全球南方”中的多数中小国家在国际体系中无法实现完全的“自助”,发展上受依附式发展的限制,安全上受全球联盟体系的约束。“全球南方”的变革性价值体现在,“全球南方”不局限于行为体之间的关系,而是要求变革西方主导下的等级制世界秩序;其限度在于,一些全球南方国家的行为与反对等级制的愿景相违背,在全球层面进行零和性质的地位追求,在地区层面试图建立地区等级制。“全球南方”的集体性价值体现在,“全球南方”以反帝反殖民的共同命运为基础,在成员之间构建集体身份、实现集体行动;其限度在于,“全球南方”与群体外“北方”的趋同和群体内的分异。明晰“全球南方”这一术语的规范价值及其限度,在学理上可以更好地区分“全球南方”与相似概念并从规范的视角看待其兴起的价值及其限制;在现实上有助于我国应对美西方将中国排除出“全球南方”的图谋,更好地团结广大全球南方国家,推动全球正义的实现和国际秩序进一步平等化。
