Aiming to the enormous requirement for the epidemic defense researches,we designed and constructed a spherical colloidal virus particle(CVP)to mimic nature virus in morphology,physical,chemical and biological characteristics,via coating spiky protein on col-loidal nanoparticles(CNPs)core with bulge hierarchical *** novel virus-like surface nanoparticles can easily be *** physical,chemical nature and the formation mechanism of the prepared CVPs were characterized and *** synthesized CVPs are similar in size and envelope thickness to common natural *** was demonstrated that the diameter of CVPs is about 238±12 nm,including an 8 nm thickness protein crown with bulges of 33 nm in average *** CVPs with an isoelectric point of 4.5,meets the native virus property of negative charge under neutral *** protein crown enhances the roughness remarkably from 10 nm(CNPs)to 22 nm(CVPs)determined by atomic force *** to the biomimetic rough morphology,the CVPs show greatly superior cellular uptake performance compared to CNPs,ovalbumin(OVA)and smoothed col-loidal particles(SCPs).The formation mechanism of protein crown with specific thickness can be attributed to the electrostatic in-teraction,protein's flexible structure and specific *** results indicate that the as-prepared artificial virions mimic na-ture viruses in multi-dimension,in terms of size,surface rough morphology,surface negative charge and glycoprotein envelope *** synthetic colloidal virus particles pave a facile way toward engineering virus particles substitute for virus-related diseases prevention,diagnostics and cellular delivery vectors.

Humidity effects on the ground-level resultant electric field of positive DC conductors

The effects of humidity on the ground-level resultant electric field around positive DC conductors were studied both experimentally and numerically. Experiments were carried out in an artificial climate chamber, the results of which showed that the photon count and the groundlevel resultant electric field strength both increased with increasing relative humidity. Numerical calculations for different values of relative humidity were carried out, including solutions of the positive corona inception voltage and the ion-flow field, for which a photoionization model and the upstream finite element method were employed, respectively. In order to analyze the effects of humidity, three main factors were considered: the ionization coefficient, the attachment coefficient in the photoionization model and the modified ion mobility of the charged water particles. The results indicated that, with increasing relative humidity, increasing values of the effective ionization coefficient were responsible for a reduction in the inception voltage, and the reduction reinforced the ground-level resultant electric field. Moreover, due to the charged water particles and the lower ion mobility with increasing relative humidity, the space charge density distribution was enhanced, which also strengthened the ground-level resultant electric field.

Research of chemical induction unit on mixing effect and chlorine saving

Rapid mixing and chlorine saving are two important problems that most drinking water industries are focus on, and this paper adopts chemical induction unit to compare with water jet injector to study what merits chemical induction unit has. The experiment chose coefficient of variability of chlorine concentration to evaluate the mix effect and used chlorine consumption to compare the two equipments. Distribution reservoir experiments show that chemical induction unit can completely mix chlorine less than 6.2 seconds and water jet injector can not completely mix in 3 minutes. Mixing pool experiments show that chemical induction unit can save chlorine compared with water jet injector, and can save more if more chlorine is consumed.

Magma Chamber Process of Post-collisional Magmatism: Insight from Textural and Elemental Characteristics of Plagioclase from the Tatun Volcanic Group, Northern Taiwan Volcanic Zone

The Taiwan mountain belt, one of the youngest orogenies in the world, is caused by the collision of the Luzon arc with the Eurasian margin, which leads to post-collisional extension and magmatism in the Northern Taiwan Volcanic Zone(NTVZ). The magma chamber process in this region has not previously been elucidated in detail. In this paper, the textural and compositional features of plagioclase phenocrysts in basalt from the Tatun Volcanic Group(TTVG) were studied to restrict the dynamics of magma system. Results show that the magma melts in TTVG are mainly sourced from the underlying MORB-like mantle wedge but influenced by incorporation of subduction components, causing the elevated Sr/Y and Ba/Y ratios in magma melts. The subduction components are mainly transported in the form of sediment melt. The plagioclase phenocrysts in the TTVG volcanic rocks are generally coarsely core-sieved with a clear rim. The An contents in the rims of plagioclase are much lower than those of cores, and elevated FeO concentrations are detected in the plagioclase rims. We propose there exists a double-layer magma chamber in this region. The core of the plagioclase was crystalized in the deeper quiescent magma chamber(~21 km), which was subsequently partially dissolved during the ascent of magma melt under H_(2)O-undersaturated condition, forming the typical coarsely sieved texture and synneusis. When this crystal-rich melt migrates into the shallower chamber, water saturation is reached and more sodic plagioclase formed as the rim of phenocryst. Due to the considerably higher fO_(2) in the shallow chamber than in the deeper one, and the distribution of Fe between plagioclase and melt positively correlates with fO_(2), the FeO content in the plagioclase rim elevates in conjunction with increasing fO_(2).

MIIP inhibits clear cell renal cell carcinoma proliferation and angiogenesis via negative modulation of the HIF-2α-CYR61 axis

Objective:In various cancers,migration and invasion inhibitory protein(MIIP)is expressed at low level and is involved in cancer ***,we sought to explore the function of MIIP in clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC).Methods:CCK-8,colony formation,cell cycle,and endothelial cell tube formation assays were performed to evaluate the roles of MIIP in ccRCC proliferation and *** explore the underlyi ng mechanism,we con ducted RNA-sequencing,GSEA,qRT-PCR,Western blot,EliSA,cell transfection,coimmunoprecipitation,and ubiquitination assays in ccRCC cell ***,xenograft tumor growth in nude mice,and Ki-67 and CD31 staining in xenograft tissues were ***,the association of MIIP expression with clinical pathology and the expression status of HIF-2a and cysteine-rich 61(CYR61)were further analyzed in human RCC tissues through Western blot and ***:Both in vitro and in vivo functional experiments indicated that forced expression of MIIP inhibited ccRCC proliferation and angiogenesis,whereas silencing MIIP either in normal HK-2 cells or in ccRCC cells had the opposite effect(Plinical samples demonstrated that MIIP is significantly downregulated in cancer *** tissues in RCC cases,and its expression is negatively associated with histological grade,metastasis,the prognosis of patients with RCC,and the expression of HIF-2a and CYR61(P<0.05).Conclusions:MIIP is a novel tumor suppressor in ccRCC via negative regulation of HIF-2a-CYR61 axis.

Data fusion in data scarce areas using a back-propagation artificial neural network model： a case study of the South China Sea

The cloud cover for the South China Sea andits coastal area is relatively large throughout the year,which limits the potential application of optical remotesensing. A H J-charge-coupled device （HJ-CCD） has theadvantages of wide field, high temporal resolution, andshort repeat cycle. However, this instrument suffers fromits use of only four relatively low-quality bands whichcan＇t adequately resolve the features of long *** Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper-plus （ETM＋）provides high-quality data, however, the Scan lineCorrector （SLC） stopped working and caused striping ofremote sensed images, which dramatically reduced thecoverage of the ETM＋ data. In order to combine theadvantages of the HJ-CCD and Landsat ETM＋ data, weadopted a back-propagation artificial neural network （BP-ANN） to fuse these two data types for this study. Theresults showed that the fused output data not only have theadvantage of data intactness for the HJ-CCD, but also havethe advantages of the multi-spectral and high radiometricresolution of the ETM＋ data. Moreover, the fused datawere analyzed qualitatively, quantitatively and from apractical application point of view. Experimental studiesindicated that the fused data have a full spatial distribution,multi-spectral bands, high radiometric resolution, a smalldifference between the observed and fused output data, anda high correlation between the observed and fused *** excellent performance in its practical application is afurther demonstration that the fused data are of highquality.

Modeling of turbidity dynamics caused by wind-induced waves and current in the Taihu Lake

A simple turbidity model was developed with a sound physical basis based on in situ high-frequency observations of short-term,strong wind-induced sediment suspension in Taihu Lake,*** validation results show that the model could successfully simulate turbidity caused by strong wind events,despite the relatively poor simulation accuracy for high values of turbidity caused by the entrainment of cyanobacteria by turbulence. The in situ observations and model simulation results indicate that the wind waves were within a narrow spectral band,with spectral energy mainly distributed within the 0.28-0.75 Hz band on opposite sides of the peak *** high-frequency and low-energy wind waves are sensitive to depth ***,the average depth of the lake is only 1.9 m,and wind waves still represent the main force of sediment suspension at the sediment-water ***,lake currents were of significance to the maintenance of background turbidity in calm waves or ripples and in the determination of critical shear *** considering the spatial distribution of hydrodynamics and sediment,the model can be used to simulate the turbidity of the entire lake as well as boundary conditions for three-dimensional numerical models.
