Polyolefins are synthetic plastics that exist on the largest scale and are ubiquitous in human *** are also the most frequently discarded ***,the ability to either upgrade polyethylene(PE)plastic for value-added applications or to degrade PE plastic for value-added chemicals and monomers is highly desirable and sought after to mitigate the plastic waste ***,we report an advanced strategy for tackling the issue of PE plastics,first through a sequential upgrading and then through a degrading *** optimal Diels–Alder-type polar comonomer diester-substituted norbornadiene is copolymerized with ethylene to produce the desired polar-functionalized PEs with both high comonomer incorporations of 42.4 mol%(-COOMe:as high to 59.6 mol%)and high molecular weights of up to 224 kg mol^(−1)in high catalytic activities of>100 kg mol^(−1)h^(−1).By means of a decisive retro-Diels–Alder reaction,this upgraded PE,namely polar-functionalized PE,can completely switch to a clean and soluble vinylene PE with a high content(28.7 mol%)of dispersed internal double bonds,which are *** of the highmolecular–weight(∼30 kg mol^(−1))vinylene PE with ethylene yields industrially relevant telechelic oligomers(∼360 g mol^(−1))of long-chainα,ω-dienes and C9/C9+hydrocarbon *** chemical upgrading and recycling method makes polyolefin plastic more sustainable.

The aquaculture industry has developed significantly over the past few decades and has had a substantial impact on the global food supply and marine fisheries ***,some problems arise behind the scenes due to excessive intensive farming,such as slow animal growth,frequent disease,and lipid metabolism *** problems have limited the sustainable development of the aquaculture industry,and a continuable solution is *** use of fungal polysaccharide appears to provide a solution to these ***,different supplemented levels of Poria cocos polysaccharide(PCP)(0,0.4,0.8,1.2,1.6,and 2.0 g/kg,respectively)were fed to spotted sea bass(Lateolabrax maculatus)in similar size(30.28±0.18 g)in current *** effects of PCP on growth,physiological parameters,and lipid metabolism of spotted sea bass were investigated after a 4-week rearing *** showed,fish with PCP intake presented a significantly higher weight gain,specific growth rate,and a significantly lower feed conversion *** higher trypsin activity in liver and intestine were observed in fish with PCP *** superoxide dismutase activity in serum and liver of fish with PCP intake were significantly improved,while significantly higher serum total antioxidant capacity and hepatic catalase activity were also ***,no significant differences in lysozyme and alkaline phosphatase activity were evident among *** with PCP intake showed a significantly lower total cholesterol,but no noteworthy change in triglyceride and lipid-metabolismrelated genes expression were observed among *** indicated that intake of PCP has a positive effect on growth and antioxidant capacity of spotted sea bass,but seems to have a limited effect on the non-specific immunity and lipid metabolism of spotted sea *** on the regression analysis results,1.4 g/kg of PCP is the optimal dose for spotted sea bass in size(30.28±0.18 g).

Lactic acid(LA)plays a major role in the occurrence,development,and spread of *** by its high accumulation in tumor site,a novel lactate oxidase(LOD)conjugated two-dimensional Pd@Ir nanoplatform(Pd@Ir-LOD,PIL)was fabricated to combine cascade reaction with photothermal for tumor *** detail,the overexpressed LA in tumor microenvironment(TME)was a key factor to activate the PIL-based cascade reaction:(1)Plenty of H_(2)O_(2)could be generated from LA by the catalysis of LOD with O_(2);(2)potent·OH was produced from H_(2)O_(2)due to the peroxidase(POD)-like activity of PIL;(3)meantime,PIL’s catalase(CAT)-like activity could decompose part H_(2)O_(2)into O_(2)to achieve the purpose of LA cyclic ***,the reduced glutathione(GSH)scavenging capability of PIL might protect the produced reactive oxygen species(ROS)from being cleared to further improve the cascade therapeutic *** importantly,PIL had excellent photothermal conversion efficiency(37.35%)and manifested a surprising temperature rising effect in *** together,the decreasing LA concentration,accumulation of high-toxic ROS,the depletion of GSH together with the higher intra-tumoral temperature potently enhanced in vivo antitumor ***,a promising therapeutic tactic based on PIL integrating endogenous LA consumption,chemodynamic therapy(CDT),and photothermal therapy(PTT)has been put forward.

Background: Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (HIRI) stands as an unavoidable complication arising from liver surgery, profoundly intertwined with its prognosis. The role of lysine methyltransferase SET domain bifurcated 1 (SETDB1) in HIRI remains elusive, despite its confirmation as a potential therapeutic target for diverse diseases. Here, we investigated the mechanism by which SETDB1 regulated HIRI. Methods: RNA sequencing data were used to identify the expression and potential targets of SETDB1 through bioinformatics analysis. To elucidate the impact of SETDB1 on HIRI, both an in vivo model of HIRI in mice and an in vitro model of hepatocyte hypoxia/reoxygenation were established. Biochemical and histological analyses were used to investigate the influence of SETDB1 on liver damage mediated by HIRI. Chromatin immunoprecipitation and coimmunoprecipitation were implemented to explore the in-depth mechanism of SETDB1 regulating HIRI. Results: We confirmed that hepatocellular SETDB1 was up-regulated during HIRI and had a close correlation with HIRI-related inflammation and apoptosis. Moreover, inhibition of SETDB1 could mitigate HIRI-induced liver damage, inflammation, and apoptosis. Through our comprehensive mechanistic investigation, we revealed that SETDB1 interacts with apoptosis-signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) and facilitates the methylation of its lysine residues. Inhibition of SETDB1 resulted in reduced phosphorylation of ASK1, leading to a marked suppression of downstream c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)/p38 signaling pathway activation. The therapeutic effect on inflammation and apoptosis achieved through SETDB1 inhibition was nullified by the restoration of JNK/p38 signaling activation through ASK1 overexpression. Conclusions: The findings from our study indicate that SETDB1 mediates lysine methylation of ASK1 and modulates the activation of the ASK1–JNK/p38 pathway, thus involved in HIRI-induced inflammation and apoptosis. Dural sinus septum:an underlying cause of cerebral venous sinus stenting failure and complications

Objectives The presence of dural sinus septum has long been identified anatomically but is often neglected for its clinical *** findings revealed the association of dural sinus septum with venous sinus stenting failure and complications supported by clinical *** This retrospective study included 185 consecutive patients treated with cerebral venous sinus stenting from January 2009 to May *** identified the dural sinus septa using digital subtraction angiography(DSA)and classified them into three types based on their *** septa at the transverse sinus were defined as typeⅠ,those at the junction between the transverse sinus and sigmoid sinus were defined as typeⅡand those at the sigmoid sinus were defined as typeⅢ.Based on the anatomic features and neuroimaging clues,we investigated the correlation of dural sinus septa with stenting failure and *** 32(17.1%)out of 185 patients(121 with idiopathic intracranial hypertension and 64 with venous pulsatile tinnitus)were identified with dural sinus septa by *** than half of the septa were typeⅠ(18/32,56.2%),followed by typeⅡ(11/32,34.4%)and typeⅢ(3/32,9.4%).The dural sinus septa caused three stenting failures and complications,including one case of venous sinus injury with subdural haemorrhage and two cases of incomplete stent *** analysis revealed that the presence of dural sinus septum(plications of cerebral venous sinus *** The dural sinus septum is a common structure in the cerebral venous *** found that the presence of dural sinus septa introduces uncertainties to cerebral venous sinus stenting and suggested precautions and ingenious skills in imaging and treatment.
