Surface modification of graphite anode with electroactive matters has been proven of a more practical strategy in enhancing the performance of li-ion batteries than exploring alternative novel anode materials.Herein,rutile Ti NbO4-xnanoparticles with a tunnel structure are employed as multifunctional decoration substances in combination with a carbon coating layer to improve the rate and cycle properties of mesocarbon microbeads（MCMBs）.As compared to pristine MCMB,the li+diffusion coefficients of the composite anodes are enhanced due to the synergistic effect of Ti Nb O4-x@C.Meanwhile,the overcharge and voltage polarization of the composite anodes at high rate are obviously minimized due to the current sharing effect of the high-potential TiN-bO4-x.Moreover,the amorphous liyTi Nb O4-xconverted from Ti NbO4-xin the initial lithiation process can deliver pseudocapacitive capacity to the composite anodes from the second cycle.All of these functions of Ti NbO4-x@C coating layer have directly contributed to the improved rate and cycle performance of the MCMB/TiNbO4-x@C composite anodes.The one containing 12.0 wt%Ti NbO4-xexhibits a high reversible specific capacity of 118 m Ah·g-1at 10C (1C=372 m A·g-1),together with a high capacity retention of 90.9%after 300 cycles at 3C,which are all much superior to those of pristine MCMB.

Characteristics and quality of clinical practice guidelines for diabetic kidney disease: a systematic review

OBJECTIVE: To assess the quality of Clinical practice guidelines(CPGs) in the context of diabetic kidney disease(DKD) and determine whether any factors affect the quality. METHODS: We searched eight databases along with five international and national organizations to develop or archive guidelines from their inception to July 2023, with an additional search of ***. And the authoritative organizations related to nephrology. CPGs and consensus statements created using direct differential diagnosis or therapy for DKD were included without language restrictions. Their quality was evaluated by four reviewers using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation Ⅱ(AGREE Ⅱ) instrument. Along with the item and domain scores, the guideline was also allocated an overall quality score, which ranged from 1(lowest possible quality) to 7(highest possible quality). Moreover, an overall recommendation for use was also assigned(“recommended”, “recommended with modifications” or “not recommended”). RESULTS: A total of 16 CPGs were included, of which 14 were from Asia and the remaining two from Europe. These two CPGs were updated in the third version. Six CPGs were recommended for use because their primary domains scored in the medium or high category. Furthermore, five CPGs were recommended with modifications as the stakeholder involvement, applicability, and editorial independence domains were evaluated as low categories. In all domains, the lowest average score was for rigour of development(33%), followed by application(36%), and stakeholder involvement(51%). The highest average score was for scope and purpose(79%), followed by clarity of presentation(75%). None of the CPGs considered the patient's viewpoint, and six of 16 CPGs did not use any grading system to translate the evidence into recommendations. Additionally, only three of 16 CPGs shared search strategy, and eight of 16 CPGs did not declare a funding source. How incubation temperature affects hatchling performance in reptiles: an integrative insight based on plasticity in metabolic enzyme

Evaluating the effects of temperature variations on animals plays an important role in understanding the threat of climate warming.The effects of developmental temperature on offspring performance are critical in evaluating the effects of warming temperatures on the fitness of ovipa-rous species,but the physiological and biochemical basis of this developmental plasticity is largely unknown.In this study,we incubated eggs of the turtle Pelodiscus sinensis at low(24℃),medium(28℃),and high(32℃)temperatures,and evaluated the effects of developmental temperature on offspring fitness,and metabolic enzymes in the neck and limb muscles of hatchlings.The hatchlings from eggs incubated at the medium temperature showed better fitness-related performance(righting response and swimming capacity)and higher activities of metabolic enzymes(hexokinase,HK;lactate dehydrogenase,LDH)than hatchlings from the eggs incubated at high or low temperatures.In addition,the swimming speed and righting response were significantly correlated with the HK activities in limb(swimming speed)and neck(righting response)muscles,suggesting that the developmental plasticity of energy metabolic pathway might play a role in determining the way incubation temperature affects offspring phenotypes.Integrating the fitness-related performance and the activities of metabolic enzymes,we predict that the P sinensis from high latitude would not face the detrimental effects of climate warming until the average nest temperatures reach 32℃.

BACKGROUND For children and adolescents,deliberate self-harm(DSH)is becoming a mental health problem of concern.Despite several studies on the prevalence and factors of DSH in the world,there is little information on DSH among children and adolescents in China.This study explores the prevalence,types,associated risk factors and tendency of DSH in pediatric psychiatric inpatients in China.AIM To understand the situation of DSH among hospitalized children and adolescents and its related factors.METHODS In this study,we retrospectively studied 1414 hospitalized children and adolescents with mental illness at Xiamen Mental Health Center from 2014 to 2019,extracted the demographic and clinical data of all patients,and analyzed clinical risk factors of DSH.RESULTS A total of 239(16.90%)patients engaged in at least one type of DSH in our study.Cutting(n=115,48.12%)was the most common type of DSH.Females(n=171,71.55%)were more likely to engage in DSH than males(n=68,28.45%).DSH was positively associated with depressive disorders[OR=3.845(2.196-6.732);P<0.01],female[OR=2.536(1.815-3.542);P<0.01],parental marital status[OR=5.387(2.254-12.875);P<0.01]and negative family history of psychiatric illness[OR=7.767(2.952-20.433);P<0.01],but not with occupation,substance use and history of physical abuse.CONCLUSION Our findings suggest that for patients with depression,females,an abnormal marriage of parents,and no history of mental illness,attention should be paid to the occurrence of DSH.

The electrolyte directly contacts the essential parts of a lithium-ion battery,and as a result,the electrochemical properties of the electrolyte have a significant impact on the voltage platform,charge discharge capacity,energy density,service life,and rate discharge performance.By raising the voltage at the charge/discharge plateau,the energy density of the battery is increased.However,this causes transition metal dissolution,irreversible phase changes of the cathode active material,and parasitic electrolyte oxidation reactions.This article presents an overview of these concerns to provide a clear explanation of the issues involved in the development of electrolytes for high-voltage lithium-ion batteries.Additionally,solidstate electrolytes enable various applications and will likely have an impact on the development of batteries with high energy densities.It is necessary to improve the high-voltage performance of electrolytes by creating solvents with high thermal stabilities and high voltage resistance and additives with superior film forming performance,multifunctional capabilities,and stable lithium salts.To offer suggestions for the future development of high-energy lithium-ion batteries,we conclude by offering our own opinions and insights on the current development of lithium-ion batteries.

The metal-based additive manufacturing(AM),also referred to as metal 3D printing,has drawn particular interest because it enables direct creation,aided by computationally-directed path design,of intricate components with site-specific compositions and geometrical requirements as well as low buy-to-fly ratios.During the last two decades,the objective of this revolutionary technology has been shifting from only“rapid prototyping”to advanced manufacturing of special high-end products or devices,which,in many aspects,outperform conventional manufacturing technologies.For fusion-based AM,significant progress has been achieved in understanding the processing window of macroscopic scales,non-equilibrium metallurgy of mesoscale scales,and grain evolution of microscopic scales.Although the versatile capacity of AM facilitates new avenues for discovering advanced materials and structures,their potential has still not been fully explored.Given the unique non-equilibrium solidification during the AM process,coarse columnar grains with strong textures are usually developed along the build direction,which downgrades the mechanical performance.To push the limits of this digital manufacturing,this review attempts to provide in-depth and comprehensive overviews of the recent progress in understanding the evolution and control of the as-built microstructure that has been made recently and the challenges encountered during the AM process.

OsPDR20 is an ABCG metal transporter regulating cadmium accumulation in rice

Cadmium(Cd)is a non-essential toxic heavy metal,seriously posing high environmental risks to human health.Digging genetic resources relevant to functional genes is important for understanding the metal absorption and accumulation in crops and bioremediation of Cd-polluted environments.This study investigated a functionally uncharacterized ATP binding cassette transporter G family(ABCG)gene encoding a Pleiotropic Drug Resistance 20(PDR20)type metal transporter which is localized to the plasma membrane of rice.OsPDR20 was transcriptionally expressed in almost all tissues and organs in lifespan and was strongly induced in roots and shoots of young rice under Cd stress.Ectopic expression of OsPDR20 in a yeast mutant ycf1 sensitive to Cd conferred cellular tolerance with less Cd accumulation.Knockdown of OsPDR20 by RNA interference(RNAi)moderately attenuated root/shoot elongation and biomass,with reduced chlorophylls in rice grown under hydroponic medium with 2 and 10μmol/L Cd,but led to more Cd accumulation.A field trial of rice grown in a realistic Cd-contaminated soil(0.40 mg/kg)showed that RNAi plants growth and development were also compromised compared to wild-type(WT),with smaller panicles and lower spikelet fertility but little effect on yield of grains.However,OsPDR20 suppression resulted in unexpectedly higher levels of Cd accumulation in rice straw including lower leaves and culm and grain.These results suggest that OsPDR20 is actively involved in Cd accumulation and homeostasis in rice crops.The increased Cd accumulation in the RNAi plants has the potential application in phytoremediation of Cd-polluted wetland soils.

Boost VS_(2) electrochemical reactive kinetics by regulating crystallographic planes and coupling carbon matrix for high performance sodium-ion storage

Vanadium disulfide(VS_(2)) as a typical two-dimensional transition metal chalcogenide has excellent competitiveness for sodium-ion storage due to its wide layer spacing(0.575 nm),high theoretical capacity of 932mAh·g^(-1) originating from multi-electron electrochemical redox.However,continuous sodiation process accompanied by crystal structural evolution and collapse cause rapid capacity decaying.Herein,novel few-layer VS_(2)nanosheets with open(001) crystal planes are in-situ constructed on reduced graphene oxide to solve these issues mentioned above.It indicates that few-layer VS_(2)provides more Na^(+) storage activity due to the low Na^(+)surface migration energy barrier on exposed crystal(001)planes.The flexible and high electronic conductivity of carbon matrix also effectively builds multi-level buffer structure and electron transport kinetics to boost the Na^(+)insertion/conversion reactive activity on VS_(2) as well as Na^(+) pseudocapacitance storage kinetics on edges and defects of nano sheets.Those coupling effects result in high rate capability and long cycling stability as a battery/capacitor anode.It delivers conspicuous high energy density of 81 and 40 Wh·kg^(-1) at power density of 118 and 10,286W·kg^(-1),as well as 80% energy retention rate after 5000cycles,confirming its great application potential in sodiumbased storage devices.

Isotopic dependence of the yield ratios of light fragments from different projectiles and their unified neutron skin thicknesses

The yield ratios of neutron-proton(R(n/p))and^(3)H-^(3)He(R(^(3)H∕^(3)He))with reduced rapidity from 0 to 0.5 were simulated at 50 MeV/u even-even ^(36−56)Ca+^(40)Ca,even-even ^(48−78)Ni+^(58)Ni,and ^(100−139)Sn(every third isotopes)+112 Sn for full reduced impact parameters using the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics(IQMD)model.The neutron and proton density distributions and root-mean-square radii of the reaction systems were obtained using the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model,which was used for the phase space initialization of the projectile and target in IQMD.We defined the unified neutron skin thickness asΔRnp=^(1∕2) n−^(1∕2)p,which was negative for neutron-deficient nuclei.The unifiedΔRnp values for nuclei with the same relative neutron excess from different isotopic chains were nearly equal,except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,which is a type of scaling behavior.The yield ratios of the three isotopic chain-induced reactions,which depended on the reduced impact parameter and unified neutron skin thickness,were studied.The results showed that both R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)decreased with a reduced impact parameter for extreme neutron-deficient isotopes;however,they increased with reduced impact parameters for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,and increased with theΔRnp of the projectiles for all reduced impact parameters.In addition,a scaling phenomenon was observed betweenΔR np and the yield ratios in peripheral colli-sions from different isotopic chain projectiles(except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes).Thus,R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)from peripheral collisions were suggested as experimental probes for extracting the neutron or proton skin thicknesses of non-extreme neutron-rich nuclei from different isotopic chains.

Two-dimensional conjugated coordination polymer monolayer as anode material for lithium-ion batteries:A DFT study

Nowadays,lithium-ion batteries(liBs)play a crucial role in modern society in the aspect of portable electronic devices and large-scale smart grids.However,the current performance of lithium-ion batteries has been unable to meet the growing expectations of society and scientific community.Herein,we have synthetically investigated availability of 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer as anode based on DFT for liBs applications.Our findings have demonstrated that 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer is a semiconductor with a small band gap of 0.2 eV,which suggest that the electronic property of 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer would take place an evident shift from semiconductor property to metallic property after li adsorption.Furthermore,we checked the stability of 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer and investigated the viability of exfoliation from bulk multilayer Ni-TABQ to form 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer in the light of exfoliation energy and binding energy.We continuously studied electrochemical properties of 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer with respect of theoretical specific capacity,li-ion diffusion barriers and open-circuit voltage.During the charging process,2D Ni-TABQ monolayer can achieve a high specific capacity of 722 m Ah/g with an open-circuit voltage range from 1.12 V to 0.22 V.These aforementioned results make the 2D Ni-TABQ monolayer a promising anode for liBs.
