Remote Sensing Retrieval of Surface Suspended Sediment Concentration in the Yellow River Estuary

Accurate assessment of surface suspended sediment concentration(SSSC) in estuary is essential to address several important issues: erosion, water pollution, human health risks, etc. In this study, an empirical cubic retrieval model was developed for the retrieval of SSSC from Yellow River Estuary. Based on sediments and seawater collected from the Yellow River and southeastern Laizhou Bay, SSSC conditions were reproduced in the laboratory at increasing concentrations within a range common to field observations. Continuous spectrum measurements of the various SSSCs ranging from 1 to 5700 mg/l were carried out using an Ava Field-3 spectrometer. The results indicated the good correlation between water SSSC and spectral reflectance(Rrs) was obtained in the spectral range of 726–900 nm. At SSSC greater than 2700 mg/L, the 740–900 nm spectral range was less susceptible to the effects of spectral reflectance saturation and more suitable for retrieval of high sediment concentrations. The best correlations were obtained for the reflectance ratio of 820 nm to 490 nm. Informed by the correlation between Rrs and SSSC, a retrieval model was developed(R2 = 0.992). The novel cubic model, which used the ratio of a near-infrared(NIR) band(740–900 nm) to a visible band(400–600 nm) as factors, provided robust quantification of high SSSC water samples. Two high SSSC centers, with an order of 103 mg/l, were found in the inversion results around the abandoned Diaokou River mouth, the present Yellow River mouth to the abandoned Qingshuigou River mouth. There was little sediment exchange between the two high SSSC centers due to the directions of the residual currents and vertical mixing.

Plant Diversity Performance After Natural Restoration in Reclaimed Deyeuxia angustifolia Wetland

Deyeuxia angustifolia wetlands were widely distributed in the Sanjiang Plain in Northeast China. Due to strong demand for food production, large-area wetlands were reclaimed to farmlands, which threatened regional ecological security greatly. Since the 21 th century, returning farmlands to wetlands was widely adopted for natural restoration in the Sangjiang Plain. As the first reflection of wetland restoration, vegetation succession of restored D. angustifolia wetlands should be fully assessed. In this study, vegetation investigation was carried out in three restored D. angustifolia wetlands with 5, 8 and 12 yr restoration, respectively. Meanwhile, a natural D. angustifolia wetland was selected as reference wetland. Results showed that community composition changed greatly and there was visible community succession. Community dominant species changed from composite to gramineae as restoration time increasing.At first, weeds community appeared in the restored wetlands, especially the xerophytes developed to the pioneer species rapidly. And then, mesophytes and wetland species became the dominant species in the restored wetlands. Finally, wetland species, especially D. angustifolia, occupied the dominant position of restored community. Shannon-wiener index(H) and Simpson index(D) both decreased to close to natural D. angustifolia wetlands. Compared with natural D. angustifolia wetland, species composition and diversity in restored wetlands were more complex and higher. As restoration time increasing, there were not significant differences between community characteristics of restored wetlands and natural wetland. All these suggested that vegetation in reclaimed D. angustifolia wetland could be restored naturally, but its restored period is 10 yr at least. From another angle, it is important to protect current natural wetlands.

Roadmap for single-molecule surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy

In the near future,single-molecule surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)is expected to expand the family of popular analytical tools for single-molecule characterization.We provide a roadmap for achieving single molecule SERS through different enhancement strategies for diverse applications.We introduce some characteristic features related to single-molecule SERS,such as Raman enhancement factor,intensity fluctuation,and data analysis.We then review recent strategies for enhancing the Raman signal intensities of single molecules,including electromagnetic enhancement,chemical enhancement,and resonance enhancement strategies.To demonstrate the utility of single-molecule SERS in practical applications,we present several examples of its use in various fields,including catalysis,imaging,and nanoelectronics.Finally,we specify current challenges in the development of single-molecule SERS and propose corresponding solutions.

Thermal decomposition mechanism of ammonium sulfate catalyzed by ferric oxide

The decomposition mechanism of ammonium sulfate catalyzed by ferric oxide was investigated in this paper. The decomposition kinetics parameters were determined via a global optimization of the Kissinger iterative method using the non-isothermal thermogravi- metric analysis data. The products and intermediates were synchronously characterized by X-ray diffraction and mass spectrometry. The obtained results indicate that the decomposition process of ammonium sulfate catalyzed by ferric oxide can be divided into four stages of which the activation energies are 123.64, 126.58, 178.77 and 216.99 kJ. mol^-1 respectively. The decomposition mechanisms at the first and the fourth stage both belong to Mample power theorem, the second stage belongs to Avrami-Erofeev equation and the third belongs to contracting sphere （volume） equation. The corresponding pre-exponential factors （A） are calculated simultaneously.

Extraction of hydrogen chloride by a coupled reaction-solvent extraction process

A coupled reaction-solvent extraction process was used to remove HC1 from a simulated distiller waste. The extraction performances of various extractants and diluents were compared and the apparent basicity ofN235 （a mixture of tertiary amines） in various diluents was determined. The best results were obtained using N235 and isoamyl alcohol as the extractant and diluent, respectively. The yield of HC1 from the coupled extraction was 75% with this extraction system. The mechanisms for the removal of HC1 in both the direct and coupled extractions were investigated. For the coupled extraction, the formation of an RaNHC1 ion-pair complex was involved in the HC1 removal. For the direct extraction, the mechanism involved the formation of hydrogen bonds at high concentrations of HC1.

Influence of serum collected from rat perfused with compound Biejiaruangan drug on hepatic stellate cells

AIM: To observe the effect of compound Biejiaruangan decoction (CBJRGC) (composite prescription of Carapax trionycis for softening the liver) on proliferation, activation,excretion of collagen and cytokine of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) and to find the mechanism of prevention and treatment of hepatic fibrosis by CBJRGC.METHODS: Using MTT, immunohistochemistry and image analysis technology, the related indexes for proliferation,activation, excretion of collagen and cytokine of hepatic stellate cells were detected in 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h after adminstration of different dosages of CBJRGC.RESULTS: Statistical analysis showed that serum collected from rat perfused with CBJRGC could restrain the proliferation of HSC in 48 h and 72 h especially in high and medium dosage groups, markedly decrease the expression of desmin, synapsin and platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) in HSC in 24 h, 48 h and 72 h, as well as the expression of μ-SMA, collagen III, TIMP and TGFβ1 in 48 h and 72 h, decrease the excretion of collagen I in 72 h.CBJRGC serum had no significant effect on collagens I, III and TIMP in 24 h.CONCLUSION: CBJRGC serum has a good curative effect on hepatic fibrosis. Its main mechanism may be related to the following factors. The drug serum can restrain the proliferation and activation of HSC, decrease the number of activated HSC and the total number of HSC, the excretion of collagens I, III, enhance the degradation of collagen and restore the balance of synthesis and degradation of collagen,inhibit the expression of transforming growth factor β1 (TGFβI) and platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) in HSC,block and delay the process of hepatic fibrosis. Synapsin is a new marker of activation of HSC, which provides a theoretical and testing basis for neural regulation in the developing process of hepatic fibrosis.

栅格非均匀计算过程中采用的全反射边界条件近似带来的中子射流效应和中子能谱干涉效应等环境效应对栅元均匀化常数具有较大影响。为在全堆芯pin-by-pin计算中处理环境效应带来的影响,本文从两个方面进行了计算分析。首先,基于棋盘式多组件问题对栅元均匀化群常数相对误差及各能群栅元不连续因子相对重要性进行了分析,可发现在等效均匀化常数中,热群不连续因子对全堆芯pin-by-pin计算精度的影响最重要;其次,基于最小二乘法建立了热群栅元不连续因子和堆芯中子学特征量之间的多项式函数关系,利用参数化技术提出了热群常数堆芯在线计算方法,其中堆芯中子学特征量包括扩散系数、移出截面、中子源项、归一化中子通量密度等。采用C5G7基准题和KAIST基准题进行了数值验证,计算结果表明,热群常数堆芯在线计算方法能有效降低全堆芯pin-by-pin计算特征值和棒功率相对误差,对处于不同燃料组件交界面附近的栅元,计算精度提升尤为显著。

The stability of Ikaros family zinc finger protein 1(Ikaros),a critical hematopoietic transcription factor,can be regulated by cereblon(CRBN)ubiquitin ligase stimulated by immunomodulatory drugs in multiple myeloma.However,other stabilization mechanisms of Ikaros have yet to be elucidated.In this study,we show that the pharmacologic inhibition or knockdown of Hsp90 downregulates Ikaros in acute myeloid leukemia(AML)cells.Proteasome inhibitor MG132 but not autophagy inhibitor chloroquine could suppress the Hsp90 inhibitor STA-9090-induced reduction of Ikaros,which is accompanied with the increased ubiquitination of Ikaros.Moreover,Ikaros interacts with E3 ubiquitin-ligase C terminal Hsc70 binding protein(CHIP),which mediates the STA-9090-induced ubiquitination of Ikaros.In addition,the knockdown of Ikaros effectively inhibits the proliferation of leukemia cells,but this phenomenon could be rescued by Ikaros overexpression.Collectively,our findings indicate that the interplay between HSP90 and CHIP regulates the stability of Ikaros in AML cells,which provides a novel strategy for AML treatment through targeting the HSP90/Ikaros/CHIP axis.

电子输运过程是核辐射探测器内形成电流的关键过程之一,相应的数值模拟是先进探测器设计与分析软件急需研发的功能。由于该过程的短平均自由程和高度前向峰等特点,确定论方法比蒙特卡罗方法的计算效率更高。本文采用多群形式的Boltzmann输运方程刻画电子输运过程;从EPICS2017中的电子截面数据EEDL出发,基于核数据处理软件NECP-Atlas编写了相应的电子截面处理模块,制作了多群截面数据库;利用Bamboo-Lattice程序中基于特征线方法的中子输运计算核心,构建了确定论电子输运计算程序。利用单核素均匀问题、化合物均匀问题和化合物非均匀问题等一系列算例,通过与蒙特卡罗程序的计算结果进行详细对比,对该确定论电子输运计算程序进行了定量数值验证与分析。结果表明,该程序可以正确模拟电子输运过程,且计算效率能比蒙特卡罗程序快80倍以上。

在压水堆堆芯Pin-by-pin均匀化计算中采用均匀泄漏修正模型及非均匀泄漏修正模型对组件计算的中子能谱进行修正,本文研究了Pin-by-pin均匀化计算中均匀泄漏修正模型及非均匀泄漏修正模型的实现方式,提出了非均匀泄漏修正模型和栅元均匀化方法的联合实现方式,并分析比较了不同栅元均匀化扩散系数产生方式的计算效果。数值结果表明,非均匀泄漏修正模型及由其产生的中子泄漏系数能有效提高压水堆堆芯Pin-by-pin计算的精度。
