Degradation of organics using LaFeO_(3)as a persulfate activator under low-intensity ultra-violet-light irradiation:Catalytic performance and mechanism

ABO_(3)-type perovskite oxides with abounding defect structures and diverse physical chemistry attributes have been extensively studied in heterogeneous *** LaFeO_(3)perovskites fabricated via the sol-gel method were used as peroxydisulfate(PDS)activators for methylene blue(MB)degradation under low-intensity ultra-violet(UV)-light to evaluate the degradation efficiency of organic pollutants and *** results indicate that under low-intensity UV irradiation,the developed UV/LaFeO_(3)/PDS system shows excellent degradation ability of organic pollutants in a wide pH *** spin resonance and radical quenching experiments verify that SO_(4)^(·-),·OH,h^(+)and ^(1)O_(2)are generated during the activation process,and ^(1)O_(2)plays a dominant role in MB *** of low oxidation state Fe(Ⅱ)and O_(2)^(2-)/O^(-)on the LaFeO_(3)surface shows that oxygen vacancy,as the electron transfer mediator,enhances the redox cycle efficiency of Fe(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅲ).Photogenerated electrons of LaFeO_(3)involved in the cyclic transformation of Fe(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅲ)and PDS activation further increase the number of active radicals and thus promote the synergistic effect of photocatalytic coupled with sulfate radicalbased advanced oxidation processes.

Sericin（SS）, as an abtmdant and renewable resource in nature, has been proven to be a good adsorbent for metal ions or organic dyes removal. In this study, glutaraldehyde vapor cross-linked sericin-based electrospun fiber adsorbent was developed for the removal of methylene blue（MB） from wastewater. To overcome the problem of decreasing adsorption capacity by excessive functional group cross-linking, MB-imprinted sericin/poly（vinyl alcohol）（PVA） electrospun fiber adsorbent was prepared. Biocompatible PVA was added to the electrospinning solution to improve the spinnability and mechanical property. Scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy（FTlR）, and so forth were used to confirm their structures and composition. The adsorption performance toward the template molecule MB, including pH effect, adsorption isotherm, adsorption kinetics, adsorption selectivity, and reusability, was investigated. By comparison with non-imprinted sericin/PVA electrospun fibers, MB-imprinted sericin/PVA electrospun fiber adsorbent showed an enhanced and selective adsorption capacity toward MB with a good regeneration and recycling ability. The adsorption test suggests that the resulting MB-imprinted sericin/PVA electrospun fibers are promising adsorbents for MB removal from aqueous system.

To effectively remove n-propylbenzene(n-PBZ)and isopropylbenzene(i-PBZ)leaked into seawater using Rhinomonas reticulata S6A(a newly isolated marine microalga),the effects of three inorganic nutrients and four environmental factors on their degradation were determined after 7 d of *** show that NaNO_(3) at 300 mg/L caused a higher removal efficiency of both n-PBZ and i-PBZ(44.79%and 39.26%),while for NaH_(2) PO_(4)·H_(2) O,greater removal rates of two PBZs(47.30%and 42.23%)were achieved at 30 and 20 mg/L,***_(3) supplementation(500-750 mg/L)resulted in a large reduction(43.67%-45.04%)in i-PBZ *** change in seawater pH(from 6 to 9)did not affect the elimination of n-PBZ and *** most suitable salinity and temperature were 30 and 25-30℃,respectively,leading to the PBZs removal of~40%.light intensity exhibited significant influence on elimination of PBZs,and the maximum removal efficiencies of 56.07%(n-PBZ)and 55.00%(i-PBZ)were recorded under 200 and 600μmol/(m^(2)·s),*** addition,the microalga could still remove PBZs when it failed to grow well due to darkness,strong light,low temperature,or low salinity,which might mean that good growth of alga is not always a necessary condition for PBZs ***,attention should be paid to the suitability of nutrient levels and environmental conditions(excluding pH)in seawater when using microalgae for bioremediating PBZs-contaminated seawater.

In order to compromise a target control system successfully, hackers possibly attempt to launch multiple cyberattacks aiming at multiple communication channels of the control system. However, the problem of detecting multiple cyber-attacks has been hardly investigated so far. Therefore, this paper deals with the detection of multiple stochastic cyber-attacks aiming at multiple communication channels of a control system. Our goal is to design a detector for the control system under multiple cyberattacks. Based on frequency-domain transformation technique and auxiliary detection tools, an algebraic detection approach is proposed. By applying the presented approach, residual information caused by different attacks is obtained respectively and anomalies in the control system are detected. Sufficient and necessary conditions guaranteeing the detectability of the multiple stochastic cyber-attacks are obtained. The presented detection approach is simple and straightforward. Finally, two simulation examples are provided, and the simulation results show that the detection approach is effective and feasible. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation.

The development of active and methanol-tolerant cathode electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction （ORR） is extremely important for accelerating the commercial viability of direct methanol fuel cells （DMFCs）. In this work, we present an efficient and template-free route for facile synthesis of cyanide （CN^-）-functionalized PtNi hollow nanospheres （PtNi@CN HNSs） with a high alloying degree using a simple cyanogel reduction method at room temperature. The physical and electrocatalytic properties of the PtNi@CN HNSs were investigated by various physical and electrochemical techniques. The PtNi@CN HNSs exhibited significantly enhanced electrocatalytic activity, durability, and particular methanol tolerance for the ORR as compared to commercial Pt black, and thus they are promising cathode electrocatalysts for DMFCs.
