Mineralogical Characteristics and Short-wave Infrared Spectra of Chlorite as Indicators of Hydrothermal Centers: A Case Study of the Giant Porphyry Copper-Molybdenum Deposit at Qulong, Tibet

The Qulong deposit in Tibet is one of the largest porphyry copper-molybdenum deposits in China. We used short-wave infrared(SWIR) spectroscopy to examine the spectral characteristics of the extensively developed chlorite in this deposit. X-ray diffraction and electron microprobe analyses were used for phase identification and to obtain the chemical composition, ion substitution relationships, and formation environment of the chlorite. SWIR spectral parameters were applied to detect the hydrothermal centers. The results indicate that the wavelength of the absorption feature for Qulong chlorite Fe-OH(Pos2250) range from 2240 to 2268.4 nm;the chlorite substitution relationships are dominated by Mg-Fe substitution at the octahedral sites together with Al;-Si substitution at the tetrahedral sites;the chlorite formation temperatures range within the medium-low temperature hydrothermal alteration range from 164 to 281°C, with an average value of 264℃;the wavelength of the chlorite peak position for Fe-OH(2250 nm) absorption and its chemical composition are positively correlated with Al^(Ⅵ), Fe + Al^(Ⅵ), Fe/(Fe + Mg), Fe, and Fe + Al^(Ⅳ)but negatively correlated with Mg and Mg/(Fe + Mg);and the wavelength associated with the chlorite Fe-OH(2250 nm) absorption feature is positively correlated with the temperature at which the chlorite formed. These correlations indicate that more Fe and Al^(Ⅵ) ions and fewer Mg ions at the octahedral sites of chlorite lead to a longer the wavelength of the chlorite Fe-OH(2250 nm) absorption feature and a higher chlorite formation temperature. The wavelength of the Qulong chlorite Fe-OH(2250 nm) absorption feature(>2252 nm) can thus serve as an exploration indicator to guide the detection of hydrothermal centers in porphyry copper deposits. The results of the study indicate that the mineralogical and SWIR spectral characteristics of chlorite are significant indicators for locating hydrothermal centers within porphyry deposits.

Primordial magnetic fields from gravitationally coupled electrodynamics in nonsingular bounce cosmology

We in this paper study a class of mechanism of the production of the primordial magnetic field(PMF) in the non-singular bouncing cosmology, through the coupling of the electromagnetic field to gravity. We adopt an electrodynamic model with a coupling coefficient as a function of the scale factor a, i.e., f = 1 +(a/a?)^(-n), with a? and n > 0 being constants. With analytical calculations, we find that this model can yield a blue tilted power spectrum of PMF on large scales from 1 Mpc to the Hubble length if the bounce scenario has experienced a contracting phase with an equation-of-state parameter larger than-1/3. Furthermore, in order to satisfy the constraints of observational data, the present mechanism favors the so-called ekpyrotic-bounce paradigm. The back-reaction of the energy density of PMF at the bouncing point can lead to additional theoretical constraints on the underlying bouncing paradigm.

Modeling of Heat Conduction in Thermoplastic Honeycomb Core/Face Sheet Fusion Bonding

Honeycomb sandwich materials have been widely used in aerospace industry as secondary structural materials or interior panels. Recently the research of full thermoplastic honeycomb sandwich materials has been of interest due to their recyclability. In their production, they usually demand an adhesive-free process, namely fusion bonding, to connect thermoplastic honeycomb core and face sheets. It is a heat induced process where a parameter of temperature should be well controlled to guarantee the product quality. This article presents a mathematical model of heat conduction to analyze the transient temperature distribution from heating tools towards inner part of the core under fusion bonding conditions. In order to simplify the complexity of 3D honeycomb geometry, a homogenization method is used to obtain average thermal properties of the honeycomb along the major heat flux direction. The model is validated by comparing with the results of in-situ temperature measurement during fusion bonding. The presented model can also be applied to analyzing general out-of-plane heat conduction through honeycomb sandwich structures made from other materials.

Triboelectric‘electrostatic tweezers'for manipulating droplets on lubricated slippery surfaces prepared by femtosecond laser processing

The use of‘Electrostatic tweezers'is a promising tool for droplet manipulation,but it faces many limitations in manipulating droplets on superhydrophobic ***,we achieve noncontact and multifunctional droplet manipulation on Nepenthes-inspired lubricated slippery surfaces via triboelectric electrostatic tweezers(TETs).The TET manipulation of droplets on a slippery surface has many advantages over electrostatic droplet manipulation on a superhydrophobic *** electrostatic field induces the redistribution of the charges inside the neutral droplet,which causes the triboelectric charged rod to drive the droplet to move forward under the electrostatic *** or negatively charged droplets can also be driven by TET based on electrostatic attraction and *** enables us to manipulate droplets under diverse conditions,including anti-gravity climb,suspended droplets,corrosive liquids,low-surface-tension liquids(*** with a surface tension of 22.3 mN·m^(-1)),different droplet volumes(from 100 nl to 0.5 ml),passing through narrow slits,sliding over damaged areas,on various solid substrates,and even droplets in an enclosed *** droplet-related applications,such as motion guidance,motion switching,droplet-based microreactions,surface cleaning,surface defogging,liquid sorting,and cell labeling,can be easily achieved with TETs.

To improve the innovation of agricultural machinery product styling,this paper proposes a shape structure behavior function(SSBF)model suitable for the industrial design *** feature line evolution method combining shape grammar and genetic algorithm was used for modelling the of the grader,which not only maintains the product style characteristics but also reflects the typical identification characteristics of the bionic prototype and produces a new product modelling *** conducting cognitive and recognition experiments on product styling features,the ranking of product styling features and the contribution of each component to product styling were *** method of combining shape grammar and quadratic Bézier curve was used to express and encode feature lines,and genetic algorithm was used to evolve biomimetic forms to form product feature lines with typical biological morphological features;The extracted form bionic elements were integrated into the grader modelling design,and the interaction evaluation was carried out through the genetic algorithm evolution *** basic form elements were extracted and analyzed,and the deduction rules were formulated and *** derived feature line geometric data considered the product’s image features and the bio-inspired prototype,which can be used for the follow-up guidance of industrial design schemes.

Progress on immuno-microenvironment and immune-related therapies in patients with pseudomyxoma peritonei

Pseudomyxoma peritonei(PMP) is an indolent malignant syndrome. The standard treatment for PMP is cytoreductive surgery combined with intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy(CRS + HIPEC). However, the high recurrence rate and latent clinical symptoms and signs are major obstacles to further improving clinical outcomes. Moreover, patients in advanced stages receive little benefit from CRS + HIPEC due to widespread intraperitoneal metastases. Another challenge in PMP treatment involves the progressive sclerosis of PMP cell-secreted mucus, which is often increased due to activating mutations in the gene coding for guanine nucleotide-binding protein alpha subunit(GNAS). Consequently, the development of other PMP therapies is urgently needed. Several immune-related therapies have shown promise, including the use of bacterium-derived non-specific immunogenic agents, radioimmunotherapeutic agents, and tumor cell-derived neoantigens, but a well-recognized immunotherapy has not been established. In this review the roles of GNAS mutations in the promotion of mucin secretion and disease development are discussed. In addition, the immunologic features of the PMP microenvironment and immune-associated treatments are discussed to summarize the current understanding of key features of the disease and to facilitate the development of immunotherapies.

Over Antarctica,surface fluxes play an important role in the local atmospheric dynamical *** reveal the surface fluxes characteristics and aerodynamic and thermal roughness lengths over Zhongshan station,Antarctica,this paper analyzes the data observed at the station during 3 March 2008 through 15 February *** is found that easterlies dominated this site throughout the whole year,with a maximum(average)speed of 25(5.6)m s−1 at 3.9 m height,and the annual maximum(minimum)surface temperature reached 291.05(230.05)K,while the annual maximum(minimum)air-specific humidity was 4.1(0.05)g/kg at 3.9 m *** maximum(minimum)values of seasonal mean temperature,humidity,each radiation components,sensible and latent heat flux occurred in summer(winter),while for the seasonal averaged wind speed andτthe minimums(maximums)appeared in summer(autumn).After comparing with a partially linear regression method for aerodynamic roughness length and four previous equations that derive thermal roughness length from surface Reynolds number,constant values of aerodynamic roughness length as 3.6×10^(−3)m and thermal roughness length as 1.2×10^(−4)m at this site were validated by using the other three level observations and suggested for future studies.
