The exploitation of coal resources inevitably affects, to different degrees, arable land resources and impacts the socio-economic development in mining areas. Therefore it is of great practical importance to probe the rules of the effect from coal resource exploration on arable land. Suitable and effective measures to compensate for damaged to and loss of arable land resources should be taken on the basis of carrying out green mining and reducing damage to limited arable land resources. We have used GIS in simulating the effect of coal resource exploration on arable land. In light of our simulation of the space-time spectrum, the effect is analyzed. Given the socio-economic development conditions of a mining area, specified rational amounts and opportunities for compensation to arable land in mining areas are explored. Finally, from a policy perspective, relevant proposals for rational arable land resource compensation are proposed to facilitate the coordinated development between coal resource exploitation and socio-economy development in mining areas.

The reverse genetics for classical swine fever virus （CSFV） is currently based on the transfection of in vitro transcribed RNA from a viral genomic cDNA clone, which is inefficient and time-consuming. This study was aimed to develop an improved method for rapid recovery of CSFV directly from cloned cDNA. Full-length genomic cDNA from the CSFV Shimen strain, which was flanked by a T7 promoter, the hepatitis delta virus ribozyme and T7 terminator sequences, was cloned into the low- copy vector pOK12, producing pOKShimen-RzTФ. Direct transfection of pOKShimen-RzTqb into PK/T7 cells, a PK-15- derived cell line stably expressing bacteriophage T7 RNA polymerase, allowed CSFV to be rescued rapidly and efficiently, i.e., at least 12 h faster and 31.6-fold greater viral titer when compared with the in vitro transcription-based rescue system. Furthermore, the progeny virus rescued from PK/T7 cells was indistinguishable, both in vitro and in vivo, from its parent virus and the virus rescued from classical reverse genetics. The reverse genetics based on intracellular transcription is efficient, convenient and cost-effective. The PK/T7 cell line can be used to rescue CSFV directly from cloned cDNA and it can also be used as an intracellular transcription and expression system for studying the structure and function of viral genes.

A group of quality of service （QoS） parameters of electronic mail （e-mail） traffic are proposed from users＇ perspective. These parameters cover three fields： delay, throughput and usability. Concept and algorithm of each parameter are presented and its effect on user perceptions is described. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of these parameters, an active measurement system is implemented. Measured results show that the group of QoS parameters we proposed can be used to get a comprehensive view of user-perceived e-mail service QoS.

The ratio of penumbral to umbra area of sunspots plays a crucial role in the solar physics fields, especially for understanding the origin and evolution of the solar activity cycle. By analyzing the recently digitized sunspot drawings observed from Yunnan Observatories(1957–2021), we investigate the long-term variation of the penumbral to umbra area ratio of sunspots. An automatic extraction method, based on the maximum between-class variance and the morphological discrimination, is used to accurately extract penumbra and umbra and to calculate the ratio over six solar cycles(cycle 19–24). The expected value of the ratio of penumbra to umbra area is found to be 6.63 ± 0.98, and it does not exhibit any systematic variation with sunspot latitudes and phases. The average ratio fluctuates from 5 to 7.5 per year and the overall trend has decreased after 1999 compared to the previous *** ratio of sunspot penumbra to umbra area satisfies the log-normal distribution, implying that its variation is related to the evolution of the photospheric magnetic field. Our results are consistent with previous works.

Protective effect of inducible nitric oxide synthase inhibitor on pancreas transplantation in rats

AIM: To investigate the effect of inducible nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, aminoguanidine, on pancreas transplantation in rats. METHODS: A model of pancreas transplantation was established in rats. Streptozotocin-induced diabetic male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to sham-operation control group (n= 6), transplant control group (n= 6), and aminoguanidine (AG) treatment group (n=18). In the AG group, aminoguanidine was added to intravascular infusion as the onset of reperfusion at the dose of 60 mg/kg, 80 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg body weight, respectively. Serum nitric oxide (NO) level, blood sugar and amylase activity were detected. Nitric oxide synthase (NOS) test kit was used to detect the pancreas cNOS and inducible NOS (iNOS) activity. Pancreas sections stained with HE and immunohistochemistry were evaluated under a light microscope. RESULTS: As compared with the transplant control group, the serum NO level and amylase activity decreased obviously and the evidence for pancreas injury was much less in the AG group. The AG (80 mg/kg body weight) group showed the most signifi cant difference in NO and amylase (NO: 66.0 ± 16.6 vs 192.3 ± 60.0, P < 0.01 and amylase: 1426 ± 177 vs 4477 ± 630, P < 0.01). The expression and activity of tissue iNOS, and blood sugar in the AG (80 mg/kg body weight) group were much lower than those in the transplant control group (iNOS: 2.01 ± 0.23 vs 26.59 ± 5.78, P < 0.01 and blood sugar: 14.2 ± 0.9 vs 16.8 ± 1.1, P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Selective iNOS inhibitor, aminoguanidine as a free radical, has a protective effect on pancreas transplantation in rats by inhibiting NO and reducing its toxicity.

Sunspots are the most striking and easily observed magnetic structures of the Sun,and statistical analysis of solar historical data could reveal a wealth of information on the long-term variation of solar activity *** hand-drawn sunspot records of Yunnan Observatories,Chinese Academy of Sciences have been accumulating for more than 60 years,and nearly 16000 images have been *** the future,the observation mode of recording sunspots by hand-drawing will be replaced inevitably by digital images observed either at ground or in *** connect the hand-drawn sunspot data and the purely digital sunspot data in future,it is necessary to analyze the systematic errors of the data which are observed by the two observation modes in the period of *** this paper,we choose 268 round sunspots(Htype in modified Zurich sunspot classification)from the drawing of Yunnan Observatories to compare their positions and areas with the CCD observations made by Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager(HMI)on board Solar Dynamic Observatory(SDO)and Global Oscillation Network Group(GONG).We find that the latitude and longitude accuracy of hand-drawn sunspot are within-0.127 and 2.29 degree respectively,and the area accuracy is about 16.36 sunspot unit(μHem).Systematic errors apparently decrease with large sunspot.

The Mesozoic granitoids in the Dabie Orogen are of particular geological interest as indicators for Mesozoic lithospheric evolution because of their close association with porphyry Mo mineralization. Here, we present a study using petrogeochemistry data to constrain the petrogenesis of the Xiaofan granites in the Dabie Mo mineralization belt （DMB）, Henan Province, China. Field investigations show that the Xiaofan pluton mainly consists of porphyritic granite. The Xiaofan granites have high SiO2 contents of 74.29 wt%-76.07 wt% （average： 75.18 wt%）, A1203 contents of 11.66 wt%-12.83 wt% （average： 12.13 wt%）, and K20 contents of 5.37 wt%-7.90 wt% （average： 6.86 wt%） and low MgO （0.06 wt%-0.16 wt%）, TiO2 （0.09 wt%-0.10 wt%）, and P205 （0.047 wt%-0.103 wt%） contents. They are enriched in Rb, U, K and Hf but depleted in Ba, Nb, Ta, Sr and Ti. By geochemical and mineralogical features, we propose that the Xiaofan granites belong to A-type type granite and dominantly sourced from the crust. The granites from the Xiaofan Mo deposit may have formed in a post-collision extensional setting.
