Forage yield is the fundamental ecosystem service of *** the quantitative responses of forage yield to nitrogen(N)enrichment are well known,its qualitative responses remain *** less known is the relative contribution of changes in community composition to the quality of the yield at the community *** examined the quantitative and qualitative responses of forage yield at both plant functional group and community levels with factorial treatments of N addition and mowing in a temperate *** addition significantly enhanced the community-level yield by favoring the growth of rhizomatous *** tended to mediate the impacts of N addition on the *** addition increased the concentrations of crude protein and crude fat in forage at the community *** the main effects of mowing nor its interactive effects with N addition affected forage *** N-induced shifts in plant species composition significantly contributed to the effects of N addition on forage quality at the community *** results suggest that mowing wound weaken the positive effects of N deposition on the quantity but not the quality of forage *** in plant community composition are important in driving the qualitative responses of yield to N deposition.

Satellite RFI mitigation on FAST

As the most sensitive single-dish radio telescope,the Five-hundred Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)is very susceptive to radio frequency interference(RFI)from active radio ***,due to the rapid development of space applications and research,satellite interference has become one of the main RFI sources for FAST,particularly at the L ***,we have developed several measures to mitigate satellite *** the one hand,an antenna with 4.5-meter diameter has been constructed and installed at the FAST site to detect the satellite interference in the frequency band between 1 to 5 ***,we have developed a satellite RFI database based on the FAST sky coverage,the observing frequency bands,and known satellite *** combining the satellite RFI monitoring antenna and the database,we have established a satellite RFI mitigation *** this system,we can not only track satellites to collect their characteristics and update the database but also help the observer to program the observing plan by predicting satellite *** the practical observation of FAST at the L band,the feasibility of this system to mitigate satellite RFI has been *** particular,the system effectively avoids strong satellite interference from entering the main beam of the telescope and causing receiver saturation.

A rapid micro-magnetic resonance imaging scanning for three-dimensional reconstruction of peripheral nerve fascicles

The most common methods for three-dimensional reconstruction of peripheral nerve fascicles include histological and radiology techniques. Histological techniques have many drawbacks including an enormous manual workload and poor image registration. Micro-magnetic resonance imaging（Micro-MRI）, an emerging radiology technique, has been used to report results in the brain, liver and tumor tissues. However, micro-MRI usage for obtaining intraneural structures has not been reported. The aim of this study was to present a new imaging method for three-dimensional reconstruction of peripheral nerve fascicles by ~1T micro-MRI. Freshly harvested sciatic nerve samples from an amputated limb were divided into four groups. Two different scanning conditions（Mannerist Solution/GD-DTPA contrast agent, distilled water） were selected, and both T1 and T2 phases programmed for each scanning condition. Three clinical surgeons evaluated the quality of the images via a standardized scale. Moreover, to analyze deformation of the two-dimensional image, the nerve diameter and total area of the micro-MRI images were compared after hematoxylin-eosin staining. The results show that rapid micro-MRI imaging method can be used for three-dimensional reconstruction of the fascicle structure. Nerve sample immersed in contrast agent（Mannerist Solution/GD-DTPA） and scanned in the T1 phase was the best. Moreover, the nerve sample was scanned freshly and can be recycled for other procedures. MRI images show better stability and smaller deformation compared with histological images. In conclusion, micro-MRI provides a feasible and rapid method for three-dimensional reconstruction of peripheral nerve fascicles, which can clearly show the internal structure of the peripheral nerve.

【目的】古树具有极大的生态价值意义,通过调查北京市昌平区和门头沟区古树健康状况与病虫害发生情况,掌握两区古树生长现状,为进一步加强古树保护与精细化养护管理工作提供基础数据。【方法】对北京十三陵林场、庆王坟、戒台寺、潭柘寺、妙峰山古树群的古树进行健康状况及病虫害调查。【结果】调查的422棵古树中,81%的古树处于健康状态,腐朽率3.79%,流胶发生率为4.5%,新鲜蛀孔发生率为1.18%。其中国槐、银杏、七叶树、玉兰和元宝枫古树的健康率均为100%。在发生病虫害的古树中,油松古树腐朽率最低,为1.72%、病情指数1.72;白皮松古树流胶率发生最低,为2.86%;油松古树蛀干害虫危害率最低,为0.47%。【结论】北京昌平区、门头沟区古树整体处于健康水平,古树病虫害发生程度与健康等级呈显著相关。

Overexpression of insulin-like growth factor-Ⅰ receptor as a pertinent biomarker for hepatocytes malignant transformation

AIM: To investigate the dynamic features of insulin-like growth factor-I receptor (IGF-IR) expression in rat hepatocarcinogenesis, and the relationship between IGF-IR and hepatocytes malignant transformation at mRNA or protein level.METHODS: Hepatoma models were made by inducing with 2-fluorenylacetamide (2-FAA) on male Sprague-Dawley rats. Morphological changes of hepatocytes were observed by pathological Hematoxylin and eosin staining, the dynamic expressions of liver and serum IGF-IR were quantitatively analyzed by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The distribution of hepatic IGF-IR was located by immunohistochemistry. The fragments of IGF-IR gene were amplified by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and confirmed by sequencing.RESULTS: Rat hepatocytes after induced by 2-FAA were changed dynamically from granule-like degeneration, precancerous to hepatoma formation with the progressing increasing of hepatic mRNA or IGF-IR expression. The incidences of liver IGF-IR, IGF-IR mRNA, specific IGF-IR concentration (ng/mg wet liver), and serum IGF-IR level (ng/mL) were 0.0%, 0.0%, 0.63 ± 0.17, and 1.33 ± 0.47 in the control; 50.0%, 61.1%, 0.65 ± 0.2, and 1.51 ± 0.46 in the degeneration; 88.9%, 100%, 0.66 ± 0.14, and 1.92 ± 0.29 in the precancerosis; and 100%, 100%, 0.96 ± 0.09, and 2.43 ± 0.57 in the cancerous group, respectively. IGF-IR expression in the cancerous group was significantly higher (P livers and sera (r = 0.91, t = 14.222, P lity should be an early marker for hepatocytes malignant transformation.

Synchronous splenectomy and hepatectomy for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and hypersplenism:A casecontrol study

AIM:To investigate whether the use of synchronoushepatectomy and splenectomy(HS)is more effective than hepatectomy alone(HA)for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and ***:From January 2007 to March 2013,84consecutive patients with HCC and hypersplenism who underwent synchronous hepatectomy and splenectomy in our center were compared with 84 well-matched patients from a pool of 268 patients who underwent hepatectomy *** short-term and longterm outcomes of the two groups were analyzed and ***:The mean time to recurrence was 21.11±12.04 mo in the HS group and 11.23±8.73 mo in the HA group,and these values were significantly different(P=0.001).The 1-,3-,5-,and 7-year disease-free survival rates for the patients in the HS group and the HA group were 86.7%,70.9%,52.7%,and 45.9%and 88.1%,59.4%,43.3%,and 39.5%,respectively(P=0.008).Platelet and white blood cell counts in the HS group were significantly increased compared with the HA group one day,one week,one month and one year postoperatively(P<0.001).Splenectomy and micro-vascular invasion were significant independent prognostic factors for disease-free ***,tumor number,and recurrence were independent prognostic factors for overall ***:Synchronous hepatectomy and hepatectomy potentially improves disease-free survival rates and alleviates hypersplenism without increasing the surgical risks for patients with HCC and hypersplenism.

We assessed the role of diabetes mellitus（DM） on treatment effects in drug‐susceptible initial pulmonary tuberculosis（PTB） patients. A prospective study was conducted in eight provinces of China from October 2008 to December 2010. We enrolled 1,313 confirmed drug‐susceptible initial PTB patients, and all subjects received the treatment regimen（2 H3 R3 E3 Z3/4 H3 R3） as recommended by the national guidelines. Of the 1,313 PTB patients, 157（11.9%） had DM; these patients had more sputum smear‐positive rates at the end of the second month [adjusted odds ratios（aO R） 2.829, 95% confidence intervals（CI） 1.783‐4.490], and higher treatment failure（aO R 2.120, 95% CI 1.565‐3.477） and death rates（aO R 1.536, 95% CI 1.011‐2.628）. DM was a contributing factor for culture‐positive rates at the end of the second month and treatment failure and death of PTB patients, thus playing an unfavorable role in treatment effects of PTB.
