Background The prevalence of congenital diaphragmatic hernia(CDH)varies across countries,with limited information available on its epidemiology in *** study aimed to investigate the prevalence,time trends,and perinatal outcomes of CDH in China,as well as its associated malformations and potential associations with maternal and infant *** This study included all birth and CDH cases from the Chinese Birth Defects Monitoring Network between 2007 and 2019,with CDH cases classified as either isolated or *** employed the joinpoint regression model to calculate the trends of prevalence and the annual percent change,with poisson regression used for adjusted prevalence rate ratios.A p value≤0.05 was considered statistically *** A total of 4397 CDH cases were identified among 24,158,029 births in the study period,yielding prevalence rates of 1.82,1.13 and 0.69 per 10,000 for overall,isolated,and associated CDH,*** prevalence of each type of CDH increased over *** prevalence of overall CDH varied significantly by infant sex(male ***,1.91/10,000 vs.1.63/10,000),maternal residence(urban ***,2.13/10,000 vs.1.45/10,000),maternal age(phic region(central,1.64/10,000;east,2.45/10,000;west,1.37/10,000).Cardiovascular anomalies were the most common malformations associated with *** with associated CDH had a higher risk of premature birth and perinatal death than those with isolated *** The increasing prevalence and high perinatal mortality rate of CDH highlight the need for further etiological,epidemiological,and clinical studies among the Chinese population.

Effect of the extrahepatic bile duct anatomy on choledocholithiasis and its clinical significance

BACKGROUND A comprehensive understanding of the extrahepatic bile duct anatomy is vital to guide surgical procedures and perform endoscopic retrograde *** irregularities within the extrahepatic bile duct may increase susceptibility to bile duct *** To investigate the anatomical risk factors associated with extrahepatic bile ducts in patients diagnosed with choledocholithiasis,with a specific focus on preventing stone recurrence after surgical intervention and endoscopic *** We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of 124 patients without choledocholithiasis and 108 with confirmed choledocholithiasis who underwent magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography examinations at our center between January 2022 and October *** regression analyses were conducted to identify the anatomical risk factors influencing the incidence of common bile duct *** Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that several factors independently contributed to choledocholithiasis *** independent risk factors for choledocholithiasis were diameter of the common hepatic[adjusted odds ratio(aOR)=1.43,95%confidence interval(CI):1.07-1.92,adjusted p value=0.016]and common bile(aOR=1.68,95%CI:1.27-2.23,adjusted p valuepatic duct(aOR=0.92,95%CI:0.84-0.99,adjusted p value=0.034),and angle of the common bile duct(aOR=0.92,95%CI:0.89–0.95,adjusted p valuepatic bile duct were directly associated with choledocholithiasis *** risk factors include an enlarged diameter of the common hepatic and bile ducts,a shorter length of the common hepatic duct,and a reduced angle of the common bile duct.

AIM:To investigate the difference of medial rectus(MR)and lateral rectus(LR)between acute acquired concomitant esotropia(AACE)and the healthy controls(HCs)detected by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).METHODS:A case-control *** subjects with AACE and eighteen HCs were *** scanning data were conducted in target-controlled central gaze with a 3-Tesla magnetic resonance *** muscles(EOMs)were scanned in contiguous image planes 2-mm thick spanning the EOM origins to the globe *** form posterior partial volumes(ppVs),the LR and MR cross-sections in the image planes 8,10,12,and 14 mm posterior to the globe were summed and multiplied by the 2-mm slice *** data were classified according to the right eye,left eye,dominant eye,and non-dominant eye,and the differences in mean cross-sectional area,maximum cross-sectional area,and ppVs of the MR and LR muscle in the AACE group and HCs group were compared under the above classifications ***:There were no significant differences between the two groups of demographic *** mean cross-sectional area of the LR muscle was significantly greater in the AACE group than that in the HCs group in the non-dominant eyes(p=0.028).The maximum cross-sectional area of the LR muscle both in the dominant and non-dominant eye of the AACE group was significantly greater than the HCs group(p=0.009,p=0.016).For the dominant eye,the ppVs of the LR muscle were significantly greater in the AACE than that in the HCs group(p=0.013),but not in the MR muscle(p=0.698).CONCLUSION:The size and volume of muscles dominant eyes of AACE subjects change significantly to overcome binocular *** LR muscle become larger to compensate for the enhanced convergence in the AACE.

Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in highly myopic eyes with implantable collamer lens

AIM:To investigate the clinical characteristics,treatment methods and outcomes of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD)in highly myopic eyes with implantable collamer lens(ICL).METHODS:High myopia patients who received treatment for nontraumatic RRD after ICL implantation surgery at the Retinal Department of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center from Jan 2018 to Dec 2022 were *** ophthalmologic examinations including visual acuity measurement and digital fundus photography were performed in each ***:A total of nine RRD eyes from nine patients who received V4c-ICL implantation were *** mean time from ICL implantation surgery to the diagnosis of RRD was 32.44±22.56mo(range,1-60mo).At the initial visit for RRD,giant retinal tear(GRT),horseshoe tear,simple round hole,and horseshoe tear combined with round hole were detected in 3,3,2,and 1 eye(s),respectively,with maculaoff in *** patients received surgical treatment,and one patient was treated by retinal laser photocoagulation *** ICL was preserved in 7 *** the last followup,the mean best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)improved significantly from 1.76±1.06 logMAR at presentation to 0.81±1.01 logMAR(p=0.035),and no case of recurrent retinal detachment was ***:The morphological presentation of retinal breaks is diverse in this *** ICL can be preserved in most cases during the course of retinal detachment repair surgery in our data,companied with acceptable visual and anatomical outcomes.

Autophagy plays a pivotal role in diverse biological processes,including the maintenance and differentiation of neural stem cells(NSCs).Interestingly,while complete deletion of Fip200 severely impairs NSC maintenance and differentiation,inhibiting canonical autophagy via deletion of core genes,such as Atg5,Atg16l1,and Atg7,or blockade of canonical interactions between FIp200 and ATG13(designated as FIp200-4A mutant or FIp200 KI)does not produce comparable detrimental *** highlights the likely critical involvement of the non-canonical functions of FIp200,the mechanisms of which have remained ***,utilizing genetic mouse models,we demonstrated that FIp200 mediates non-canonical autophagic degradation of p62/sequestome1,primarily via TAX1Bp1 in *** deletion of Tax1bp1 in fip200hGFAp conditional knock-in(cKI)mice led to NSC deficiency,resembling the fip200hGFAp conditional knockout(cKO)mouse ***,reintroducing wild-type TAX1Bp1 not only restored the maintenance of NSCs derived from tax1bp1-knockout fip200hGFAp cKI mice but also led to a marked reduction in p62 aggregate ***,a TAX1Bp1 mutant incapable of binding to FIp200 or NBR1/p62 failed to achieve this ***,conditional deletion of Tax1bp1 in fip200hGFAp cKO mice exacerbated NSC deficiency and p62 aggregate accumulation compared to fip200hGFAp cKO ***,these findings illustrate the essential role of the FIp200-TAX1Bp1 axis in mediating the non-canonical autophagic degradation of p62 aggregates towards NSC maintenance and function,presenting novel therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative diseases.

To resolve the issue of rotary kiln agglomeration during the sodium carbonate roasting of dolomite rare earth ore,this study introduces an oxidation-sodization pellet roasting method for decomposing mixed rare earth *** focus of this paper lies in understanding the bonding and roasting mechanism of sodium polyacrylate as a binder to dolomite ore and examining the process index of Na_(2)CO_(3)pellets roasting-acid leaching using X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning ele ctron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy(SEM-EDS),and zeta potential analysis,The results indicate that sodium polyacrylate facilitates the bonding of sodium carbonate to monazite via adsorption of positive and negative charges,and upon roasting at 750℃for 1.5 h to obtain rare earth *** conditions of a hydrochloric acid(HCl)concentration of 9 mol/L,a reaction for 60 min,a solid-to-liquid ratio(g:mL)of 1:5,and reaction temperature of 90℃,the leaching rates of rare earth elements and thorium(Th)reached maxima of 85.14%and 95.53%,*** process results in a yield of 47.61%for fluorine(F)and89.25%for phosphorus(p).This research forms a foundation for the sodium carbonate roasting decomposition of mixed rare earth concentrates.
