Epidemiology has associated fine particulate matter(pM_(2.5))exposure with an increased cardiovascular ***,the underlying mechanism,particularly from the liver perspective,remains ***,the influence of chronic pM_(2.5)exposure on cardiovascular risk in mice fed a high-fat and high-cholesterol diet(HFCD)was studied by using a real-world pM_(2.5)exposure *** showed that pM_(2.5)exposure elevated the serum levels of nonhigh-density lipoprotein cholesterol(non-HDL-C)and oxidized low-density lipoprotein(oxLDL)in HFCD-fed mice,demonstrating increased cardiovascular *** investigate the molecular mechanism,lipidomics and metabolomics analyses were conducted and revealed that pM_(2.5)exposure enhanced lipid accumulation and disturbed purine metabolism and glutathione metabolism in the liver of HFCD-fed mice,contributing to the elevated non-HDL-C levels and intensified oxidative ***,pM_(2.5)exposure increased total cholesterol levels by upregulating Hmgcr expression and downregulating Cyp7a1 expression in the livers of HFCD-fed *** HDL-C level was reduced by inhibiting the hepatic Abca1 and Abcg1 expression and decreasing the levels of ApoA-I and ***,the pM_(2.5)-induced pro-oxidative environment impeded the oxLDL clearance and further triggered inflammation,in turn exacerbating oxidative stress and oxLDL *** study demonstrated a synergy of pM_(2.5)and HFCD on cardiovascular risk and illuminated the molecular mechanism in pM_(2.5)-susceptible populations.

BACKGROUND Triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index values are a new surrogate marker for insulin *** study aimed to explore the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and atrial fibrillation(AF)recurrence after radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA).METHODS A total of 576 patients with AF who underwent RFCA at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an jiaotong University were included in this *** participants were grouped based on cumulative TyG index values tertiles within 3 months after *** regression and restricted cubic spline analyses were used to determine the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and AF *** predictive value of all risk factors was assessed by receiver operating curve *** There were 375 patients completed the study(age:63.23±10.73 years,64.27%male).The risk of AF recurrence increased with increasing cumulative TyG index values *** adjusting for potential confounders,patients in the medium cumulative TyG index group[hazard ratio(HR)=4.949,95%CI:1.778–13.778,p=0.002]and the high cumulative TyG index group(HR=8.716,95%CI:3.371–22.536,ppline regression model also showed an increased risk of AF recurrence with increasing cumulative TyG index *** considering cumulative TyG index values,left atrial diameter,and lactate dehydrogenase levels as a comprehensive factor,the model could effectively predict AF recurrence after RFCA[area under the curve(AUC)=0.847,95%CI:0.797–0.897,pptimized for risk stratification and outcome prediction for AF recurrence.

Hydrochemical characteristics and the ecological effect of algal carbonic anhydrase in carbon cycle in the Taiyuan section of Fenhe River

Water scarcity and pollution pose a threat to the sustainable development of cities and ***,it is crucial to analyze the hydrochemical characteristics and carbon dynamics of waterdeficient *** the Taiyuan section of Fenhe River as the research object,we systematically explored the hydrochemical characteristics of surface water and its evolutionary processes,as well as the ecological effect of algal carbonic anhydrase in carbon cycle using the hydrochemical evolution method and correlation *** ternary diagram demonstrates that the main water chemical type in Fenhe River was SO^(2-)_(4)·Cl^(-)-Na^(+).The Gibbs and end-member diagrams of each ion display that the chemical composition of surface water was mainly controlled by silicate *** chemical ions originated mainly from dissolution of some minerals,such as plagioclase,halite,dolomite,calcite,and *** diatoms had a lower CO_(2)requirement because they exhibited a higher abundance at a lower partial pressure of CO_(2)(p CO_(2)).However,high CO_(2)concentration had a positive effect on cyanobacteria,which reduced the active transport of HCO_(3)^(-),saved the energy needed for this part of active transport,and indirectly improved the overall photosynthetic efficiency of *** anhydrase(CA)activity was significantly negatively correlated with p CO_(2)and positively correlated with HCO_(3)^(-)concentration,indicating that CA in water promoted the conversion of CO_(2)to HCO_(3)^(-).The HCO_(3)^(-)generated from this process continued to participate in the erosion of silicate rocks,sequestering CO_(2)in the form of Ca CO_(3),which has a non-negligible impact on the carbon sink in the Fenhe *** consequences may have important implications for the biogeochemical cycling occurring in urban water.

Bats are the natural reservoir hosts for SARS-related coronavirus(SARSr-CoV)and other highly pathogenic ***,it is conceivable that an individual bat may harbor multiple ***,there is limited knowledge on the overall co-circulation of microorganisms in ***,we conducted a 16-year monitoring of bat viruses in south and central China and identified 238 SARSr-CoV positive samples across nine bat species from ten provinces or administrative *** these,76 individual samples were selected for further metagenomics *** found a complex microenvironment characterized by the general cocirculation of microbes from two different sources:mammal-associated viruses or environment-associated *** later includes commensal bacteria,enterobacteria-related phages,and insect or fungal viruses of food *** showed that 25%(19/76)of the samples contained at least one another mammal-associated virus,notably alphacoronaviruses(13/76)such as AlphaCoV/YN2012,HKU2-related CoV and AlphaCoV/Rf-HuB2013,along with viruses from other ***,we observed three viruses co-circulating within a single bat,comprising two coronavirus species and one *** analysis also revealed the potential presence of pathogenic bacteria or fungi in ***,we obtained 25 viral genomes from the 76 bat SARSr-CoV positive samples,some of which formed new evolutionary ***,our study reveals the complex microenvironment of bat microbiome,facilitating deeper investigations into their pathogenic potential and the likelihood of cross-species transmission.
