Winter jujube(Ziziphus jujuba‘Dongzao’)is an excellent late maturing variety of fresh-eating jujube in China.Fruit texture is an important indicator of sensory quality.To investigate the correlations among texture indices and establish an evaluation system for winter jujube texture,we used the TMS-Touch instrument to perform a texture profile analysis(TPA)on 1150 winter jujubes from three major producing areas in China.Eight indices and their best-fit distribution were obtained,including fracture(Pearson),hardness(InvGauss),adhesive force(Weibull),adhesiveness(LogLogistic),cohesiveness(LogLogistic),springiness(BetaGeneral),gumminess(InvGauss),and chewiness(InvGauss).Based on the best-fit distribution curves,each index was divided into five grades(lower,low,medium,high and higher)by the 10th,30th,70th and 90th percentiles.Among the texture indices,82%of the correlation coefficients were highly significant(Plinear regression with the remaining four indices,with the coefficients above 0.94 and the mean fitting error and mean prediction error lower than 10%.A comprehensive evaluation model was consequently established based on factor analysis to evaluate the texture quality of winter jujube.The results demonstrated that winter jujube with higher comprehensive scores generally exhibited higher springiness and chewiness,but had lower adhesive force and adhesiveness.We used factor analysis and clustering analysis to divide the eight studied texture into four groups(cohesive factor,adhesive-soft factor,tough-hard factor,and crispness factor),whose representative indices were springiness,adhesiveness,ha

A novel technology for quick acclimation of an anaerobic microbial consortia used for biodegrading teraphthalic acid (TA)

The seed sludge originated from a methane fermentation reactor was enriched and acclimated with TA as sole carbon source under nitrate respiration mode first for 6 week, and then can be turned to methane fermentation conditions. After 6 weeks processing, the specific rate of TA degradation under nitrate respiration mode reached 23.8 mgTA/(L·gVSS), more than two times of that under methane fermentation mode 11.4 mg TA/(L·gVSS). The TA reductive cleavers' population density increased about 6 times and 20 times after 30 days and 90 days acclimation. After a total of 90 days for the enrichment and acclimation, the fermentative bacteria which originally existed in the seed sludge nearly disappeared, and instead of them, the TA reductive and cleaving bacteria group was formed in the new consortia, which was confirmed by the MPN counts and roll tube counts. Compared with the control experiment, the acclimation period can be shortened by about 50%.

MRI findings in injured articular cartilage of the knee correlated with surgical findings

Background There is a strong need for quick noninvasive diagnostic technique that can give a valid estimate of the status of the cartilage reliably, discriminating intact cartilage from various grades of impaired cartilage. The goal of this study was to assess the incidence of knee cartilage injuries and compare the accuracy of two-dimension spin echo （2D SE） and fast spin echo （FSE）（conventional MRI）, three-dimensional spoiled gradient echo （3D SPGR）, three-dimensional fast imaging employing steady state acquisition （3D FIESTA） MR imaging sequences with surgical examination of the articular cartilage. Methods One hundred and thirty-eight knees with history of knee trauma received conventional MRI, 3D SPGR and 3D FIESTA MRI examination before surgery, and surgical examination of articular cartilage was used as reference standard. A modified version of the Noyes classification system was applied for the evaluation of the lateral femoral condyle （LFC）, medial femoral condyle （MFC）, lateral tibial plateau （LTP）, medial tibial plateau （MTP）, trochlea and patella. The incidence and distributions of different injured grades at different articular surfaces of knee were assessed. A series of assessment indeces of 3D SPGR, 3D FIESTA, and the combination of the conventional MRI and 3D SPGR imaging were calculated. Results The incidence of cartilage defects （grade 2 to 4） was 22% （183/828）, according to surgical examination. Grade 3 and 4 lesions were absent at the medial tibial plateau. The rates of exact match between the grading results of different MRI procedures and surgical examination were 49% of 3D SPGR, 61% of 3D FIESTA, and 82% of the combination of 3D SPGR and conventional MRI. Also, the combination of 3D SPGR and conventional MR imaging provided the highest sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive and negative predictive values, at 71%, 97%, 90%, 90% and 90%, respectively. Conclusions For all the articular surfaces of the traumatic knees, about one fifth （22%） were cartilage defects. Both 3D SPGR and 3D FIE

Comparison of sea surface wind field measured by HY-2A scatterometer and WindSat in global oceans

In this study, we present a comprehensive comparison of the sea surface wind ?eld measured by scatterometer(Ku-band scatterometer) aboard the Chinese HY-2 A satellite and the full-polarimetric radiometer WindSat aboard the Coriolis satellite. The two datasets cover a four-year period from October2011 to September 2015 in the global oceans. For the sea surface wind speed, the statistical comparison indicates good agreement between the HY-2 A scatterometer and WindSat with a bias of nearly 0 m/s and a root mean square error(RMSE) of 1.13 m/s. For the sea surface wind direction, a bias of 1.41° and an RMSE of 20.39° were achieved after excluding the data collocated with opposing directions. Furthermore,discrepancies in sea surface wind speed measured by the two sensors in the global oceans were investigated.It is found that the larger dif ferences mainly appear in the westerlies in the both hemispheres. Both the bias and RMSE show latitude dependence, i.e., they have signi?cant latitudinal ?uctuations.

Expression and functional analysis of Fa PHO1;H9 gene of strawberry(Fragaria×ananassa)

Although the phosphate 1（PHO1）gene family has been implicated in inorganic phosphate transport and homeostasis,the underlying mechanism of this gene in the strawberry has not yet been revealed.In the present study,we analyzed the expression of the PHO1;H9 gene in the strawberry（Fragaria×ananassa）,revealing the involvement of this gene in the regulation of phosphorus（P）content.The coding sequence（CDS）of the PHO1;H9 gene,was isolated from the cultivated strawberry‘Sachinoka’and named as Fa PHO1;H9.The full-length CDS of this gene was 2 292 bp,encoding 763 amino acids,and the protein contained both SYG1/Pho81/XPR1（SPX）and ERD1/XPR1/SYG1（EXS）domains,which were involved in phosphate（Pi）signaling.Real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction（RT-PCR）data suggested that the level of Fa PHO1;H9 expression was consistent with the P content in different organs,except for the petiole.Particularly,its expression level was also correlated with P content in fruits of different developmental stages.The expression of Fa PHO1;H9 was also consistent with P content in leaves under different concentrations of P fertilizer application.Furthermore,transgenic Arabidopsis lines were generated,and the P content in Arabidopsis plants over-expressing Fa PHO1;H9was significantly higher than that in wild-type plants.Therefore,we proposed that Fa PHO1;H9 functions in P transport.

目的:探讨青少年特发性脊柱侧弯(adolescent idiopathic scoliosis,AIS)胸腰椎生理曲度变化情况以及不同类型侧弯之间胸腰椎生理曲度的差异。方法:自2017年1月至2021年12月回顾性分析305例脊柱全长正侧位X线片的青少年患者,根据有无侧弯分为正常组和侧弯组。正常组179例,男79例,女100例;年龄10~18(12.84±2.10)岁。侧弯组126例,男33例,女93例;年龄10~18(13.92±2.20)岁。观察并比较两组Risser征、胸椎后凸角(thoracic kyphosis,TK)与腰椎前凸角(lumbarlordosis,LL),并分析比较不同性别、不同程度侧弯与不同节段侧弯TK值与LL值。结果:侧弯组在女性比率(P=0.001)、年龄(P0.05)。不同节段侧弯之间TK值与LL值比较,差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05)。结论:胸椎与腰椎生理曲度均与性别无关;AIS患者胸椎生理曲度变小,但是腰椎生理曲度基本不变。轻度AIS患者的胸椎生理曲度大于中度AIS患者,但是腰椎生理曲度在轻中度患者之间几乎无差异,且与正常青少年相似。AIS患者胸腰椎生理曲度变化可能与脊柱前柱相对生长过快有关,其具体机制有待进一步研究。

Effect of Rare Earth on Microstructures and Properties of High Speed Steel With High Carbon Content

The effects of rare earth （RE） on the microstructures and properties of high carbon high speed steel （HCHSS） were investigated. The results show that when suitable RE is added to the HCHSS, the effect of RE on the austenite and eutectic carbides is obvious. The austenite grain and coarse eutectic structure are refined, and flake carbides in the eutectic structures become short and fine. After heat treatment, most of the eutectic carbides are spheroidized and distributed in a uniform manner. The hardness and red hardness of modified HCHSS are slightly increased; impact toughness is greatly increased by 37.81% and reaches 10.17 J/cm^2. The mechanism by which RE improves the structures and properties of HCHSS is also analyzed.

Spatio-Temporal Changes of Soil Salinity in Arid Areas of South Xinjiang Using Electromagnetic Induction

The aim of this paper was to research the spatio-temporal changes in total soluble salt content （TS） in a typical arid region of South Xinjiang, China, where the climate is arid and soil salinization happens easily. The total soluble salt content was interpreted by measurements made in the horizontal mode with EM38 and EM31. The electromagnetic induction （EM） surveys were made three times with the apparent soil electrical conductivity （ECa） measurements taken at 3 873 locations in Nov. 2008, 4 807 locations in Apr. 2009 and 6 324 locations in Nov. 2009, respectively. For interpreting the ECa measurements into total soluble salt content, calibtion sites were needed for EM survey of each time, e.g., 66 sites were selected in Nov. 2008 to measure ECa, and soils-core samples were taken by different depth layers of 0-10, 10-20 and 20-40 cm at the same time. On every time duplicate samples were taken at five sites to allevaite the local-scale variability, and soil temperatures in different layers through the profiles were also measured. Factors including TS, pH, water content, bulk density were analyzed by lab experiments. ECa calibration equations were obtained by linear regression analysis, which indicated that soil salinity was one primary concern to ECa with a determination coefficient of 0.792 in 0-10 cm layer, 0.711 in 10-20 cm layer and 0.544 in 20-40 cm layer, respectively. The maps of spatial distribution were predicted by Kriging interpolation, which showed that the high soil salinity was located near the drainage canal, which validated the trend effect caused by the irrigation canal and the drainage canal. And by comparing the soil salinity in different layers, the soluble salt accumulated to the top soil surface only in the area where the soil salinization was serious, and in the other areas, the soil salinity trended to increase from the top soil surface to 40 cm depth.
