Acetylene (C_(2)H_(2)) and ethylene (C_(2)H_(4)) both are important chemical raw materials and energy fuel *** the effective removement of trace C_(2)H_(2)from C_(2)H_(4)and the purification of C_(2)H_(2)from carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) are particularly challenging in the petrochemical *** a class of porous physical adsorbent,metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have exhibited great success in separation and purification of light hydrocarbon ***,we rationally designed four novel MOFs by the strategy of pore space partition(PSP) via introducing triangular tri(pyridin-4-yl)-amine (TPA) into the 1D hexagonal channels of acs-type parent *** modulating the functional groups of linear dicarboxylate linkers for the parent skeleton,a series of isoreticular PSP-MOFs (SNNU-278-281) were successfully *** synergistic effects of suitable pore size and Lewis basic functional groups make these MOFs ideal C_(2)H_(2)*** gas adsorption experimental results show that all MOFs have excellent C_(2)H_(2)***,SNNU-278demonstrates a high C_(2)H_(2)uptake of 149.7 cm3/g at 273 K and 1 ***,SNNU-278-281 MOFs also show extremely great C_(2)H_(2)separation from CO_(2)and C_(2)H_(4).The optimized SNNU-281 with highdensity hydroxy groups exhibits extraordinary C_(2)H_(2)/CO_(2)and C_(2)H_(2)/C_(2)H_(4)dynamic breakthrough interval times up to 31 min/g and 17 min/g under 298 K and 1 bar.

The traditional telecommunications band performs poorly in harsh weather conditions due to atmospheric absorption. In recent years, researchers have begun to study optical communication through atmospheric windows, and optical switches are an essential component of optical communication. A broadband atmospheric window optical switch was proposed based on Vanadium dioxide and magnetic polaritons(MP). It is formed by the stacking of two metal-dielectric-metal structures. The simulation results show that the modulation depth can reach 98.38%, and the extinction ratio is 17.93 dB. By calculating the magnetic field, we confirmed that the reason for the “off” mode is the coupling between the different MP modes, while the “on”mode is the excitation of MP. The optical switch we proposed may be applied to radiation cooling and optical satellite communication.

Unexpected catalytic activity of rhodium nanodendrites with nanosheet subunits for methanol electrooxidation in an alkaline medium

Nanocrystals of Rh, an important member of the noble metal catalyst family, have wide applications in heterogeneous catalytic reactions. Controlling the morphology of these noble metal nanocrystals has become an effective strategy for improving their catalytic activity and durability. In this work, well-defined Rh nanodendrites with very thin triangular branches as subunits are synthesized using a facile diethylene glycol reduction method, assisted by polyethyleneimine as a complex-forming agent and surfactant. For the first time, the methanol oxidation reaction （MOR） on Rh nanocrystals with a well-defined morphology is investigated using various electrochemical techniques in an alkaline medium. Unexpectedly, the as-prepared Rh nanodendrites, with ultrathin nanosheet subunits, exhibit superior electrocatalytic activity and durability during the MOR in an alkaline medium, indicating that Rh nanocrystals with specific morphology may be highly promising alternatives to Pt electrocatalysts in the MOR in an alkaline medium.

Phase Behavior of Ionic liquids-Cesium Carbonate-Water Aqueous Two-phase Systems and Their Extraction of L-Tryptophan

Phase behavior and extraction ability of aqueous two-phase systems（ATPs） consisting of ionic liquids（ILs）, Cs2CO3 and water were investigated in this paper. Four kinds of ionic liquids, namely, 1-amyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide（[Csmim]Br）, 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide（[C6nim]Br）, 1-heptyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide （[C7mim]Br） and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide（[C8mim]Br）, were examined to discuss the influence of alkyl groups. Binodal curves and tie-lines at 288.15, 298.15 and 308.15 K were obtained. The partitioning behavior for L-tryptophan in such ATPs was further investigated. The effect of temperature, pH, Cs2CO3 concentration and the structure of ionic liquids on the partitioning were discussed in detail.

The solubilities, densities and refractive indices for the four ternary systems ethylene glycol/glycerin＋ RbNOJCsNO3＋H20 were measured with mass fractions of ethylene glycol or glycerin in a range of 0 to 1.0 at 288.15 and 298.15 K. In all the cases, the presence of either ethylene glycol or glycerin significantly reduces the solubilities of the rubidium nitrate and cesium nitrate in aqueous solution, but the refractive indices increase with the increase of mass fraction of either ethylene glycol or glycerin. The density, refractive index and solubility of the saturated ternary systems were correlated with each other via polynomial equations. In addition, the refractive indices and densities of unsaturated solutions were also determined for the four ternary systems with different salt concentrations, which were correlated with the salt concentration and proportion of ethylene glycol or glycerin in the solution.

The understanding of thermodynamic properties of electrolyte systems are important in industrial,biological or environmental terms .Tetramethylurea (TMU) is an excellent *** is suitable as reaction medium for base-catalysed isomerizations,alkylations,acylations,and other condensation reactions .Because of the particularity of the structure and properties of TMU–HO mixture,in this paper,the thermodynamic properties of NaCl/KCl in tetramethylurea-water systems(w(TMU)=0.00,0.10,0.20,0.30) are investigated by potentiometric method at T=298.15 *** working electrode ion-selective electrode (K-ISE) and (Na-ISE) are the PVC membrane *** experiment data are correlated by the Pitzer,modified Pitzer and extended Debye-Hückel *** mean activity coefficients,γ,osmotic coefficients,Φ,excess Gibbs free energy,G,and standard solubility product,ln K of the ternary systems are *** variation of these magnitudes in theε-decreasing co-solvent is discussed in terms of the ion-solvent,ion-ion interactions ,relative permittivity,ion radius in the solution.
