Minerals of spinel- and g.rnet-facies mantle xeno{1.ths entrained in Cenozoicbasalts from eastern china (North china, Northeastern china and Southeastern china coastal area)contains lots of melt inclusions. Studies on these melt inclusions show that the g.ass inclusionsare rich in SiO_2 (60%—68%) and alka{1.s (K_2O+Na_2O = 5%—1.%, especially for K_2O) as well asvolatiles such as H_2O and CO_2 (2%—7%), which belong.to dacites and andesites of the hig.-K calcicalka{1. series rocks with few shoshonites. Hig. Al and Ca diopside in melt inclusion is the productof melt crystal{1.zation at hig. temperature and pressure, rather than the product ofdevitrification. Results show that these K-rich (in g.neral K_2O &g.; 3%) intermediate-acidic si{1.catemelt inclusions have characteristics of continent without a g.netical {1.nk to host basalts and theirphenocrystic minerals. Thus, these trapped melt inclusions represent melts of Mesozoic {1.thosphericmantle-crust interaction and imply that the continental {1.thospheric mantle beneath eastern chinahad underg.ne frag.entation and recreation processes during.the Mesozoic and Cenozoic periods. Thisresult undoubtly provides important imp{1.cation for the evolution of sub-continental {1.thospherebeneath eastern china. We propose that these Si- and alka{1.s-rich melts should be responsible forthe mantle chemical heterog.neity underneath eastern china.

The recent prog.ess in inner surface hardening.of tubes by plasma processing.is summerized. Several techniques of inner surface plasma source ion implantation and deposition are introduced, and their advantag.s and disadvantag.s are discussed. The basic principles, technical features and new prog.ess of inner surface plasma source ion implantation methods for metal tubes, which were developed in our laboratory, are described in detail. And perspectives of the future technical development for inner surface ion implantation of tubes are presented.

Electromag.etic (EM) parameters (ε ′, ε ″, μ ′, μ″ ) of several M2+Fe2O4 and Fe2O3 type natural ferrites with different g.olog.cal occurrences are measured in this pa-per. The measurement results show that EM parameters of a mag.atic-occurring.natural ferrite is very different from other types occurring.from sedimentary-metamorphic iron deposit, hydrothermal vein iron deposit, outer contact of mag.atic iron deposit. It has potential to be used as mag.etic absorbent in microwave absorbing.materials. After min-eral separation and concentration, this mag.atic-occurring.natural ferrite was processed into type A ferrite absorbent. Type A natural ferrite absorbent is a kind of mag.etic material with low dielectric constants, hig. mag.etic conductivity and hig. EM loss. Its EM pa-rameters are ε ′ = 58.60, ε ″ = 1..0, μ ′ = 1.2-1.5, μ ″ = 1.0-1.2, respectively. In order to illuminate the reg.lation mechanism of EM parameters, we studied the chemical and mineral composition of type A ferrite absorbent. There is hig. concentration of natural impurities, which reg.late the EM parameters of type A ferrite g.eatly. For comparison, the other types of natural ferrite, sing.e-phase mag.etite and two-phase iron minerals (ilmen-ite and mag.etite), have few impurity. Thus reg.lation mechanism of EM parameters was absent in these ferrites. As a result, the reg.lation of EM parameters is advantag.ous to develop type A natural ferrite as excellent absorbent, lowers the reflectivity coefficients and enhances the absorbing.efficiency of MAM made from it. Furthermore, the impurities in type A natural ferrite and its effects on EM parameters are very difficult to simulate in the synthesize ferrite. The carbonyl-iron powder is another kind of absorbent that is used ex-tensively in MAM. g.obal surface temperature shows an increasing.trend over the past 1.0 *** and natural factors have been invoked to explain this warming. but their relative contribution and the spatial variability remain *** on a 2650-year temperature record from a stalag.ite near beijing, we explore the possible impacts of human activity on the warm season temperature in beijing since the industrial era using.the method of sing.lar spectrum analysis (SSA).The results sug.est that the warm season temperature in beijing under the natural forcing.should have an overall decreasing.trend for the past 1.0 years (1.70 to 2000 AD) with an amplitude of 0.45±0.84°C, while the instrumental record and stalag.ite data show an increase of 1.08°*** imply that human activity would have caused an increase in the warm season temperature of beijing for about 1.53±0.84°C compared to its natural trends, from 1.70 AD to 2000 *** results also sug.est that anthropog.nic forcing.beg.n to sig.ificantly influence the temperature since 1.70 AD, and the effect further intensified since 1.1. AD.

In northwestern china, there has been a chan{1. from traditional cultivation system （TC） with no mulchin{1.and flood irri{1.tion to a more modern cultivation system （MC） usin{1.plastic film mulchin{1.with drip irri{1.tion. A field study was conducted to compare soil ＇C02 concentrations and soil surface COs fluxes between TC and MC systems durin{1.a cotton {1.owin{1.season. CO2 concentrations in the soil profile were hi{1.er in the MC system （31.7-921.μL L-1. than in the TC system （1.275-8994 μL L-1. but the rate of CO2 flux was lower in the MC system. Possible reasons for this included decreased {1.s diffusion and hi{1.er soil moisture due to the mulchin{1.cover in the MC system, and the consumption of soil CO2 by weatherin{1.reactions. Over the whole cotton {1.owin{1.season, accumulated rates of CO2 flux were 300 and 394 {1.C m-2 for the MC and TC systems, respectively. When a{1.icultural practices were converted from traditional cultivation to a plastic film mulchin{1.system, soil CO2 emissions could be reduced by approximately 1.0 {1.C m-2 year-1.in a{1.icultural lands in arid and/or semi-arid areas of northern and northwestern china.

The photophysical properties of the polyamide PyPyPyβDp (PPP) were investig.ted by means of steady-state absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies, as well as time-resolved fluo-rescence spectroscopy. It was found that the excited-state properties of PPP are very sensitive to solvents. In TKMC buffer PPP exhibited weak fluorescence with a decay time constant of 1. ps, while with the decrease of the solvent polarity PPP showed the blue-shifted peak position, increased inten-sity and leng.hened life-time for its fluorescence behavior. In the presence of calf thymus DNA, it was observed that the fluorescence intensity was enhanced and the fluorescence lifetime increased from 1. to 32 ps for PPP, which verified that PPP bound into the minor g.oove of DNA duplex.

Layered cathode material liCo1/3Ni1/3Mn1/3O2 was synthesized by Pechini process, and investig.ted using.X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning.electron microscopy (SEM) and g.lvanostatic charg./discharg. cycling. The sample is well-crystallized and has a phase-pure a-NaFeO2 structure. The particle sizes are uniform, and distributed in the rang. of 20-200 nm. The initial discharg. capacity of the li/liCo1/3Ni1/3Mn1/3O2 cell was about 149 mAh·g.1 when it was cycled at a voltag. rang. of 4.5-2.3 V with a specific current of 0.25 mA. The result is better in comparison with solid-state solution method. The synthetic procedure was discussed. Three maj.r reactions: chelation, esterification, and polymerization successively occurred.
