Uncertainties in stormwater runoff data collection from a small urban catchment, Southeast China

Monitoring data are often used to identify stormwater runoff characteristics and in stormwater runoff modelling without consideration of their inherent uncertainties. Integrated with discrete sample analysis and error propagation analysis, this study attempted to quantify the uncertainties of discrete chemical oxygen demand （COD）, total suspended solids （TSS） concentration, stormwater flowrate, stormwater event volumes, COD event mean concentration （EMC）, and COD event loads in terms of flow measurement, sample collection, storage and laboratory analysis. The results showed that the uncertainties due to sample collection, storage and laboratory analysis of COD from stormwater runoff are 13.99%, 19.48% and 12.28%. Meanwhile, flow measurement uncertainty was 12.82%, and the sample collection uncertainty of TSS from stormwater runoff was 31.63%. Based on the law of propagation of uncertainties, the uncertainties regarding event flow volume, COD EMC and COD event loads were quantified as 7.03%, 10.26% and 18.47%.

在快开式硫化罐卡箍结构啮合处设置覆层结构可以有效保护啮合齿面,为提高检修效率,课题组设计了一种用于卧式双开门硫化罐的新型覆层卡箍结构,并运用有限元法进行应力强度评定,分析覆层结构参数对硫化罐覆层结构应力分布影响。结果表明:圆柱销直径由4.0 mm增大至7.0 mm,开槽数由2增大至4时,覆层板销孔处最大应力增幅分别为71.5%和68.5%,圆柱销直径和开槽数对覆层板销孔处应力影响较大;覆层结构各参数对圆柱销最大剪切应力影响均较大;圆柱销开槽数为2时相比不开槽结构,其表面最大接触应力增幅达198.5%,圆柱销表面最大接触应力受其开槽数影响较大。当圆柱销直径为5.0 mm、圆柱销开槽数为2及覆层板厚度为5.0~6.0 mm时,覆层卡箍结构综合力学性能较好。

Characteristics of rainfall runoff from a 3.26 hm^2 urban catchment with predominant land-use as lawn in Xiamen City, South-east China were investigated and analyzed. Water quality and quantity measurements of rainfall runoff were conducted for ten rainfall events over the period March, 2008 to April, 2009. The results indicated that chemical oxygen demand （COD） and total phosphorus （TP） were the major pollutants with event mean concentrations of 56.09 and 0.44mg.L^-1. From hydrograph and pollutograph analysis of two typical rainfall events, it was clear that the peak rainfall preceded the peak flowrate by about 15-20 min. Meanwhile, concentrations of major pollutants showed multiple peaks and these peaks usually preceded peak flowrate. There were no distinctive first-flush effects except for the rainfall events with the longest rainfall duration and largest runoff volume, which was verified by the fact that the first 30% runoff volume （FF30） carried 39.36% of the total suspended solids （TSS） load, 35.17% of the COD load, 28.13% of the TP load and 39.03% of the nitrate nitrogen load. Multivariate regression analysis further demonstrated that the total runoffvolume had a positive correlation with the FF30 of TSS and COD.

Since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, there has been significant progress in combating the *** addition to identifying HIV,1 scientists have developed an array of antiretroviral drugs and successfully converted the once deadly disease into a treatable and chronic condition.2 Nevertheless, this battle is far from over and HIV still outsmarts humans in multiple ways and poses tremendous challenges. Within this context, the Chinese Medical Journal has timely published this special issue on HIV/AIDS, highlighting the ongoing challenges posed by HIV and potential solutions to these problems.

In this study,the factors affecting the formation of small black spot defects on the surface of a hot-dip galvanized pure zinc strip are analyzed. These defects are primarily formed w hen the iron-aluminum inhibition layer is incompletely formed or fails to form or when foreign matter adheres to the surface or embeds in the zinc *** defects can be reduced by controlling the cleanliness and activity of the strip base before coating,regulating the zinc pot process parameters,and ensuring the cleanliness of the passline and workshop.

Galloylglucoses can extensively and intensively interact with proteins and possess many biological activities and exhibit optimal health benefits.A novel galloylglucose had been observed and separated from fresh shoots of some special tea genetic resources,and was characterized as a trigalloylglucose isomer with mass parent ion[M-H]−at m/z 635.10 and daughter ions at m/z 483.08,465.08,313.02 and 168.98 and with UV absorbance peaks at 221 nm and 278 nm after being measured with UPLC-DAD-MS/*** trigalloylglucose was highly purified by semipreparative chromatography and identified as 1,4,6-tri-O-galloyl-β-glucopyranose(1,4,6-TGG)by 1H-NMR,13C-NMR,H1-H1 COSY and *** capacity of the 1,4,6-TGG was 2.68−5.77μmol TEAC/μmol,and significantly higher(42.7%−419.4%)than that of ascorbic acid,but similar to another well-known powerful antioxidant epigallocatechin gallate in tea,indicating that 1,4,6-TGG could,in the future,be applied in the development of functional foods and pharmaceuticals.

An on-line control method of surface quality for continuous hot-dip galvanized steel strip after cooling is presented, which combines analytical dynamics theory of a thin plate with the finite element method. The inherent characteristics of the non-immersed and partially immersed strip in liquid zinc were calculated on the basis of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, respectively. Multi-parameter fitting of the deviation between results using different methods was performed. To optimize the strip excitation frequency away from the resonance region, on-line vibration control of the strip near the air knife under full product conditions was achieved by changing the field production parameters based on the field test results. The results indicate that although the axial velocity has little effect on the inherent characteristics of the strip compared with other manufacturing parameters such as the steel specifications and tension, it induces external excitations,including moving the aerodynamic load and bearing vibration. To some degree, the vibration near the air knife can be reduced by strengthening the support stiffness of the contact rolls. A total on-line control program of surface quality for continuous hot-dip galvanized pure Zn and galvannealed steel sheet in the cooling section is proposed.

The failure of zinc pot hardware in continuous hot-dip galvanizing lines （CGLs） is due to zinc corrosion, abrasion ,and dross build-up. Enhancing the life of pot hardware will not only upgrade the quality of the sheet products but also will increase the efficiency of CGLs, with decreasing cost and increasing energy savings. This paper introduces the current research and development for thermal spray coatings for pot rolls, sleeves, and bushings, and analyses the thermal spray and surface treatment technique details of dross adhesion prevention. It provides the potential applications and developing trends in thermal spray coatings and surface treatment techniques for pot hardware.
