A chemical composite plating of Ni-B_(4)C was used to prepare the surface-modified zirconia toughened alumina(ZTA)ceramic particles.The ceramic preforms were prepared by the plated ZTA and sodium silicate solution binder,followed by casting infiltration to prepare the ZTA particles reinforced high chromium cast iron(HCCI)composites.The result reveals that a distinct interface layer forms at the ZTA/HCCI interface,which consists of phases of ZrB_(2),FeB,Fe_(2)B,and NaSiO_(4).The interfacial wettability between ZTA and HCCI is improved by the diffusion and reaction of Ni and B_(4)C.The wear test reveals that the Ni-B_(4)C plated ZTA particles can effectively improve the wear resistance of the ZTA/HCCI composite,and the wear rate of the composite is decreased to 11.6%of HCCI.

An empirical formula to predict overtopping discharge of vertical wall is presented,in which an expression similar to the solitary wave function is proposed to describe the rule of the influence of relative water depth.The formula is derived from performing an investigation to the well-known overtopping graphs of Goda,and for the sake of interest,the process of the derivation is detailed.To make clear the formula’s performance,relevant test datasets in the CLASH database are extracted to examine the error levels of the formula.As a result,an overall good agreement has been found between the predictions of the formula and the extracted datasets in a wide range outside the extreme shallow region,i.e.,the range of relative water depth smaller than 0.6,in which the water depth near the wall is so shallow that nearly all the incoming waves have been broken before reaching the wall.

In this paper we are concerned with absolute,relative and Tate Tor modules.In the first part of the paper we generalize a result of Avramov and Martsinkovsky by using the Auslander-Buchweitz approximation theory,and obtain a new exact sequence connecting absolute Tor modules with relative and Tate Tor modules.In the second part of the paper we consider a depth equality,called the depth formula,which has been initially introduced by Auslander and developed further by Huneke and Wiegand.As an application of our main result,we generalize a result of Yassemi and give a new sufficient condition implying the depth formula to hold for modules of finite Gorenstein and finite injective dimension.

Stock Efficiency Evaluation Based on Multiple Risk Measures:A DEA-like Envelopment Approach

This paper proposes a new approach for stock efficiency evaluation based on multiple risk measures. A derived programming model with quadratic constraints is developed based on the envelopment form of data envelopment analysis(DEA). The derived model serves as an input-oriented DEA model by minimizing inputs such as multiple risk measures. In addition, the Russell input measure is introduced and the corresponding efficiency results are evaluated. The findings show that stock efficiency evaluation under the new framework is also effective. The efficiency values indicate that the portfolio frontier under the new framework is more externally enveloped than the DEA efficient surface under the standard DEA framework.

Stem cell-derived exosomes(SC-EXO)was an emerging therapeutic agent in regenerative medicine.Intratunical injection of SC-EXO is considered as a prospective approach for erectile dysfunction(ED)treatment.However,high vascularization of cavernous body makes effective retention a major challenge for SC-EXO intratunical injection.In this study,a Polydopamine nanoparticles(PDNPs)incorporated poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(ε-caprolactone-co-lactide)(PDNPs-PELA)thermosensitive hydrogels were fabricated by a facile in situ polymerization for intratunical administration of adipose stem cell-derived exosomes(EXO).The hydrogels exhibited sol-gel transition at body temperature.Moreover,the in-situ polymerization of PDNPs using poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(ε-caprolactone-co-lactide)(PELA)block copolymer as a template was found to be more stable dispersion in the gel system.After being encapsulated into the hydrogel,EXO shows sustained release behavior within two weeks.In vivo animal experiments revealed that exosomes released from hydrogel lead to the healing of endothelial cells and neurons,increase of the cavity’s pressure,thereby restoring the erectile function.In particular,since the PDNPs in thermosensitive gels have excellent photoacoustic performance,the hydrogel can be accurately delivered into the tunica albuginea by the guidance of real-time photoacoustic imaging.These results suggest that the as-prepared PDNPs-PELA has a promising future as an injectable exosome carrier for ED treatment.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the protective effects of serum containing Dangua Fang( 丹瓜方) on vascular endothelium damaged by oxidative stress. METHODS: Five experiments were completed in this paper. In the first experiment, we found the most suitable serum containing Dangua Fang by comparing groups with different serum containing Dangua Fang. In the second experiments we analyzed Dangua Fang influencing endothelial cell viability and apoptosis and cell cycle. The third experiment on Dangua Fang intervention of mitochondrial respiratory chain. The fourth experiment on Dangua Fang intervention of mitochondrial membrane potential. And finally, on the fifth experiment we researched the mechanism of Dangua Fang improving mitochondrial function by comparing the Na~+-k~+-ATPase and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator-1alpha(PGC-1α) in the Dangua group with the diazoxide group and Co Q+Vit C group. RESULTS: We compared the control group in the first experiments and the OD values in DZ1 group was the most significant in all intervening groups. The recipe of DZ1(5% serum containing Dangua Fang) was used in the following experiments. Compared with the control group, cell viability, cell cycle(G2 + S), cytochrome c oxidase(COX), R3 red/green, R2 red/green, R1 red/green decreased and apoptosis, succinate dehydrogenase(SDH), green(R2 + R3), Na+-k+-ATPase, PGC-1α increased in the model group. Compared with the model group, cell viability, G2+S, COX, R3 red/green, R2 red/green, R1 red/green raised and apoptosis, green(R2 + R3), Na-K-ATPase decreased in the Dangua group;G2 + S, R3 red/green, R2 red/green, R1 red/green raised and green(R2 + R3) decreased in the Co Q + Vit C group. Na-K-ATPase increased in the combined group(P lial cells damaged by promotion of mitochondrial biogenesis, reduction of Na~+-K~+-ATPase activity and regulation of mitochondrial respiratory chain function restoring mitochondrial membrane potential.
