Ink and wash painting, or Chinese Shui-mo painting, traditionally hinges on concepts and techniques of brushstrokes and freehand style. However, li gang peels those concepts and techniques off from his paintings, making concrete images of birds, flowers and landscapes fade.Only traces of water and ink, which are irregular variations in a regular array, infuse changes, agility and rhythm into a lifeless piece of medium.

BaTiO_(3)ceramics are difficult to withstand high electric fields,so the energy storage density is relatively low,inhabiting their applications for miniaturized and lightweight power electronic devices.To address this issue,we added Sr_(0.7)Bi_(0.2)TiO_(3)(SBT)into BaTiO_(3)(BT)to destroy the long-range ferroelectric domains.Ca^(2+)was introduced into BT-SBT in the form of CaTiO_(3)(CT),which has the effect of inhibiting the movement of A-site defects to reduce dielectric loss and refining the grains to increase the breakdown field strength.In addition,we have increased the density and grain uniformity of ceramics by repeated rolling of the green samples through the viscous polymer processing(VPP),to further increase the breakdown electric field.The BT-SBT-CT ceramics exhibit the high recoverable energy storage density of 4.0 J·cm^(-3)under electric field of 480 kV·cm^(-1).Its recoverable energy storage density varies by less than 8%in the temperature range of 30-150℃,indicating good temperature stability of the energy storage performance.In this work,the energy storage performance of barium titanate-based ceramics was greatly improved by transforming ferroelectrics into relaxor ferroelectrics and VPP method,which can bring new inspiration for the research of energy storage ceramics.

The removal of iodide(I^(−))from source waters is an effective strategy to minimize the formation of iodinated disinfection by-products(DBPs),which are more toxic than their brominated and chlorinated analogues.In this work,a nanocomposite Ag-D201 was synthesized by multiple in situ reduction of Ag-complex in D201 polymer matrix,to achieve highly efficient removal of iodide from water.Scanning electron microscope/energy dispersive spectrometer characterization showed that uniform cubic silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)evenly dispersed in the D201 pores.The equilibrium isotherms data for iodide adsorption onto Ag-D201 was well fitted with Langmuir isotherm with the adsorption capacity of 533 mg/g at neutral pH.The adsorption capacity of Ag-D201 increased with the decrease of pH in acidic aqueous solution,and reached themaximum value of 802 mg/g at pH 2.This was attributed to the oxidization of I^(−),by dissolved oxygen under the catalysis of AgNPs,to I2 which was finally adsorbed as AgI3.However,the aqueous solutions at pH 7–11 could hardly affect the iodide adsorption.The adsorption of I^(−)was barely affected by real water matrixes such as competitive anions(SO_(4)^(2−),NO_(3)^(−),HCO3−,Cl^(−))and natural organic matter,of which interference of NOM was offset by the presence of Ca^(2+).The proposed synergistic mechanism for the excellent performance of iodide adsorption by the absorbent was ascribed to the Donnan membrane effect caused by the D201 resin,the chemisorption of I^(−)by AgNPs,and the catalytic effect of AgNPs.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the most prominent cause of disability and mortality in the world. Although there have been a variety of therapeutic options for the management of CVDs, most of the traditional therapeutic strategies could not sufficiently stop or reduce the progression of these diseases and may result in some side effects. With the advance in nanotechnology, a number of metal-based nanoparticles have been developed and shown promising potentials in the treatment of CVDs. In this review, we provide a comprehensive review of researches on recent development of metal-based nanoparticles in diagnosis and therapy in CVDs as biomedical materials. We also discuss the challenges in the clinical translation and potential risks in their application of CVD therapy. Based on the ongoing research and applications, we can conclude metal-based nanoparticles are expected to become potential therapeutics for the treatment of CVDs. But their application is still in its infancy and much more efforts should be made to enforce a clinical breakthrough.

Deep learning approaches,especially convolutional neural networks(CNNs),have become the method of choice in the field of medical image analysis over the last few years.This prevalence is attributed to their excellent abilities to learn features in a more effective and efficient manner,not only for 2D/3D images in the Euclidean space,but also for meshes and graphs in non-Euclidean space such as cortical surfaces in neuroimaging analysis field.The brain cerebral cortex is a highly convoluted and thin sheet of gray matter(GM)that is thus typically represented by triangular surface meshes with an intrinsic spherical topology for each hemisphere.Accordingly,novel tailored deep learning methods have been developed for cortical surface-based analysis of neuroimaging data.This paper reviewsed the representative deep learning techniques relevant to cortical surface-based analysis and summarizes recent major contributions to the field.Specifically,we surveyed the use of deep learning techniques for cortical surface reconstruction,registration,parcellation,prediction,and other applications.We concluded by discussing the open challenges,limitations,and potentials of these techniques,and suggested directions for future research.

The ductile design principle has been widely adopted in seismic design of structures,so the main structural components are designed to have the dual functions of bearing and energy dissipation under the earthquake.In recent years,the intensity of major earthquakes occurred in China,Chile,New Zealand,and Japan had reached or exceeded the design level of the maximum credible earthquake.In most cases,the designed structures did not collapse and the casualties were small.However,many structures were seriously damaged and must be overhauled or rebuilt,resulting in huge economic losses.Therefore,researchers have paid more attention to the seismic resilient structures.The shear wall can provide an efficient lateral force resisting capacity and has a wide range of applications in building structures.This review firstly summarized the research advances of seismic resilient shear wall structures,mainly from three aspects:high-performance materials,replaceable components,and hybrid structural systems;then,the development of seismic performance analysis,design methods,and engineering applications of seismic resilient shear wall structures were presented;finally,the key issues that need to be explored in the future research were discussed,which was helpful for the wide application of seismic resilient shear wall structures.

Brain protective effect of dexmedetomidine vs propofol for sedation during prolonged mechanical ventilation in non-brain injured patients

BACKGROUND Dexmedetomidine and propofol are two sedatives used for long-term sedation.It remains unclear whether dexmedetomidine provides superior cerebral protection for patients undergoing long-term mechanical ventilation.AIM To compare the neuroprotective effects of dexmedetomidine and propofol for sedation during prolonged mechanical ventilation in patients without brain injury.METHODS Patients who underwent mechanical ventilation for>72 h were randomly assigned to receive sedation with dexmedetomidine or propofol.The Richmond Agitation and Sedation Scale(RASS)was used to evaluate sedation effects,with a target range of-3 to 0.The primary outcomes were serum levels of S100-βand neuron-specific enolase(NSE)every 24 h.The secondary outcomes were remifentanil dosage,the proportion of patients requiring rescue sedation,and the time and frequency of RASS scores within the target range.RESULTS A total of 52 and 63 patients were allocated to the dexmedetomidine group and propofol group,respectively.Baseline data were comparable between groups.No significant differences were identified between groups within the median duration of study drug infusion[52.0(IQR:36.0-73.5)h vs 53.0(IQR:37.0-72.0)h,P=0.958],the median dose of remifentanil[4.5(IQR:4.0-5.0)μg/kg/h vs 4.6(IQR:4.0-5.0)μg/kg/h,P=0.395],the median percentage of time in the target RASS range without rescue sedation[85.6%(IQR:65.8%-96.6%)vs 86.7%(IQR:72.3%-95.3),P=0.592],and the median frequency within the target RASS range without rescue sedation[72.2%(60.8%-91.7%)vs 73.3%(60.0%-100.0%),P=0.880].The proportion of patients in the dexmedetomidine group who required rescue sedation was higher than in the propofol group with statistical significance(69.2%vs 50.8%,P=0.045).Serum S100-βand NSE levels in the propofol group were higher than in the dexmedetomidine group with statistical significance during the first six and five days of mechanical ventilation,respectively(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION Dexmedetomidine demonstrated stronger protective effects on the brain compare

我国证券市场的发行制度改革是一个不断深化的过程,政府管制是发行制度的一个核心问题。本文首次建立了一个基于塔洛克寻租模型的分析框架,分析证券市场的管制如何造成福利损失,提出了证券投资者剩余的概念,在价格管制条件下分析了证券投资者剩余在发行人和投资者之间的分配,证券市场只要存在数量控制,消除价格管制和福利分配公平之间不可能同时成为政策目标;并进一步分析了证券市场低价扩容在改进社会福利水平中的意义,从而为股权分置改革完成后证券发行制度的渐进改革思路建立理论基础。

Incipient Gear Fault Detection Using Adaptive Impulsive Wavelet Filter Based on Spectral Negentropy

Adaptive wavelet filtering is a very important fault feature extraction method in the domain of condition monitoring;however, owing to the time-consuming computation and difficulty of choosing criteria used to represent incipient faults, the engineering applications are limited to some extent. To detect incipient gear faults at a fast speed, a new criterion is proposed to optimize the parameters of the modified impulsive wavelet for constructing an optimal wavelet filter to detect impulsive gear faults. First, a new criterion based on spectral negentropy is proposed. Then, a novel search strategy is applied to optimize the parameters of the impulsive wavelet based on the new criterion. Finally,envelope spectral analysis is applied to determine the incipient fault characteristic frequency. Both the simulation and experimental validation demonstrated the superiority of the proposed approach.
