A blast furnace slag zeolite(BFSZ)material was successfully synthesized from BFS by alkaline fusion and hydrothermal treatment.Via the analyses of XRD,FT-IR,FE-SEM,XRF,CEC and BET surface area measurement,when zeolite was synthesized at a crystallization temperature of 100℃with initial Si/Al ratio of 1:1,the main composition in the product is Na-A zeolite.Under the above conditions,the BFSZ was synthesized with CEC of 3.06 meq/g and maximum BET surface area of 37.55 m^(2)·g^(-1).Moreover,the incorporating of BFS-derived minor metals(such as Mg,Fe,and Ca)are found to be of little importance for the synthesis of BFSZ.Thus the obtained BFSZ material has a great adsorption performance for removing Mn^(2+),Cu^(2+),and NH_(4)^(+)ions diluted in water,owing to the higher CEC.

An inventory of topographic modifications is essential to addressing their impacts on hydrological and morphological processes in human-altered watersheds.However,such inventories are generally lacking.This study presents two workflows for semi-automatic detection of linear earthen runoff and erosion control berms in rangelands using high-resolution topographic data.The workflows consist of initial object identification by applying either morphological grayscale reconstruction(MGR)or the Geomorphon(GEO)method,followed by identification refinements through filters based on objects’horizontal and vertical information.Three sites were selected within the Altar Valley,Arizona,in the southwestern United States.One site was used for developing workflows and optimizing filter thresholds,and the other two sites were used to validate workflows.The results showed that:1)The MGR-based workflow methodology could produce final precision and detection rates of up to 92%and 75%,respectively,and take less than 5 s for a 10.1 km^(2) site;2)The workflow based on the MGR method yielded greater identification accuracy than did the GEO workflow;3)Object length,orientation,and eccentricity were important characteristics for identifying earthen berms,and are sensitive to general channel flow direction and berm shape;4)Manual interrogation of topographic data and imagery can significantly improve identification precision rates.The proposed workflows will be useful for developing inventories of runoff and erosion control structures in support of sustainable rangeland management.

Background: As one of the early discovered long non-coding RNAs (lncRNA), taurine upregulation gene 1 ( TUG1 ) has been widely expressed in a variety of tumors. Moreover, it promotes cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and migration. However, our understanding of its importance in the pathogenesis of cataracts remains limited. This study aimed to explore the mechanism by which lncRNA TUG1 mediates lens epithelial cell apoptosis in age-related cataracts (ARC) by regulating the microRNAs (miR-29b)/second mitochondria-derived activator of caspases axis, and to identify more non-surgical strategies for cataract treatment. Methods: The messenger RNA expression levels of TUG1 , miR-29b, and Smac were detected using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction in vivo and in vitro . The expression of the Smac protein was analyzed by Western blotting and immunofluorescence. Flow cytometry and cell counting kit-8 assays were used to detect the cell apoptosis and proliferation rates, respectively. The targeted regulatory relationship between lncRNA TUG1 , miR-29b, and Smac was verified by viral vector construction, co-transfection, nuclear and cytoplasmic separation, luciferase reporter assays, and RNA immunoprecipitation. Results: TUG1 and Smac were expressed at high levels in ARC and HLE-B3 cells treated with 200 μmol/L H 2 O 2 , whereas miR-29b expression was decreased. In vitro cell experiments confirmed that down-regulation of TUG1 could inhibit the apoptosis of lens epithelial cells. Mechanistically, Smac expression was negatively regulated by miR-29b. TUG1 competitively inhibited miR-29b expression and caused greater release of Smac. In addition, miR-29b partially reversed the effects of TUG1 on human lens epithelial cell line cells. Conclusions: lncRNA TUG1 increases Smac expression and promotes apoptosis of lens epithelial cells in ARC by competitively inhibiting miR-29b. Cooperative driving is widely viewed as a promising method to better utilize limited road resources and alleviate traffic congestion.In recent years,several cooperative driving approaches for idealized traffic scenarios(i.e.,uniform vehicle arrivals,lengths,and speeds)have been proposed.However,theoretical analyses and comparisons of these approaches are lacking.In this study,we propose a unified group-by-group zipper-style movement model to describe different approaches synthetically and evaluate their performance.We derive the maximum throughput for cooperative driving plans of idealized unsignalized intersections and discuss how to minimize the delay of vehicles.The obtained conclusions shed light on future cooperative driving studies.

BACKGROUND:Traumatic aortic dissection(TAD)has a low incidence but extremely high mortality.It always presents atypical clinical manifestations that are easily missed or misdiagnosed.This study mainly aims to describe the imaging characteristics and management of TAD patients.METHODS:A retrospective analysis of 27 blunt TAD patients was performed between 2013 and 2020.Demographic features,imaging characteristics,and management were analyzed.RESULTS:Twenty-seven patients with type B aortic dissection(age 56.04±16.07 years,20 men)were included.Aortic intimal tears were mostly initiated from the aortic isthmus.The sizes of the proximal intimal tears in the greater curvature were larger than those in the lesser curvature(1.78±0.56 cm vs.1.24±0.52 cm,P=0.031).Compared with those in the control group,the maximum diameters of the aortic arch,thoracic aorta,and abdominal aorta in the TAD patients were all significantly widened(all P<0.050).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the maximum diameter of the thoracic aorta was an independent risk factor for TAD,with a predictive value with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of 0.673.Finally,26 patients successfully underwent delayed thoracic endovascular aortic repair(TEVAR),and the remaining one patient was treated conservatively.No progression of aortic dissection or death occurred during the six-month follow-up period.CONCLUSIONS:In blunt trauma,the aortic isthmus is the most common site of proximal intimal tears.An accurate diagnosis of TAD requires an overall consideration of medical history and imaging characteristics.Delayed TEVAR might be an eff ective therapeutic option for TAD.

The removal of iodide(I^(−))from source waters is an effective strategy to minimize the formation of iodinated disinfection by-products(DBPs),which are more toxic than their brominated and chlorinated analogues.In this work,a nanocomposite Ag-D201 was synthesized by multiple in situ reduction of Ag-complex in D201 polymer matrix,to achieve highly efficient removal of iodide from water.Scanning electron microscope/energy dispersive spectrometer characterization showed that uniform cubic silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)evenly dispersed in the D201 pores.The equilibrium isotherms data for iodide adsorption onto Ag-D201 was well fitted with Langmuir isotherm with the adsorption capacity of 533 mg/g at neutral pH.The adsorption capacity of Ag-D201 increased with the decrease of pH in acidic aqueous solution,and reached themaximum value of 802 mg/g at pH 2.This was attributed to the oxidization of I^(−),by dissolved oxygen under the catalysis of AgNPs,to I2 which was finally adsorbed as AgI3.However,the aqueous solutions at pH 7–11 could hardly affect the iodide adsorption.The adsorption of I^(−)was barely affected by real water matrixes such as competitive anions(SO_(4)^(2−),NO_(3)^(−),HCO3−,Cl^(−))and natural organic matter,of which interference of NOM was offset by the presence of Ca^(2+).The proposed synergistic mechanism for the excellent performance of iodide adsorption by the absorbent was ascribed to the Donnan membrane effect caused by the D201 resin,the chemisorption of I^(−)by AgNPs,and the catalytic effect of AgNPs.

In view of the exciting advancement on silicon–carbon bond-forming transformations achieved in the past decade,this review intends to show a unified illustration of the recent findings on enantioselective Si–H bond functionalization aided by asymmetric catalysis.Accordingly,this review describes the enantioselective silicon–carbon bond-forming Si–H bond functionalization,focusing on the reactivity and stereoselectivity in catalytic asymmetric hydrosilylation,carbene Si–H insertion,C–H silylation,and Si–C bond-forming cross-coupling reactions that were achieved with high enantioselectivity in the presence of transitionmetal catalyst systems.This review highlights recent and representative examples of the enantioselective Si–H bond functionalization,discusses the origins of silicon-involving stereoselectivities,and evaluates the substrate scopes and limitations in these catalytic asymmetric Si–H bond functionalization reactions due to the special reactivity of different hydrosilanes.

To ensure the safety, comfort, and effectiveness of lower limb rehabilitation exoskeleton robots in the rehabilitation training process, compliance is a prerequisite for human–machine interaction safety. First, under the premise of considering the mechanical structure of the lower limb rehabilitation exoskeleton robot (LLRER), when conducting the dynamic transmission of the exoskeleton knee joint, the soft axis is added to ensure that the rotation motion and torque are flexibly transmitted to any position to achieve flexible force transmission. Second, to realize the active compliance control of LLRER, the sliding mode impedance closed-loop controller is developed based on the kinematics and dynamics model of LLRER, and the stability of the designed control system is verified by Lyapunov method. Then the experiment is designed to track the collected bicycle rehabilitation motion data stably, and the algorithm and dynamic model are verified to satisfy the experimental requirements. Finally, aiming at the transmission efficiency and response performance of the soft shaft in the torque transmission process of the knee joint, the soft shaft transmission performance test is carried out to test the soft shaft transmission performance and realize the compliance of the LLRER, so as to ensure that the rehabilitation training can be carried out in a safe and comfortable interactive environment. Through the design of rehabilitation exercise training, it is verified that the LLRER of flexible transmission under sliding mode impedance control has good adaptability in the actual environment, and can achieve accurate and flexible control. During the experiment, the effectiveness of monitoring rehabilitation training is brought through the respiratory belt.

MicroRNAs(miRNAs)are trans-acting small regulatory RNAs that work coordinately with transcription factors(TFs)to shape the repertoire of cellular m RNAs available for translation.Despite our growing knowledge of individual plant miRNAs,their global roles in gene regulatory networks remain mostly unassessed.Based on interactions obtained from public databases and curated from the literature,we reconstructed an integrated miRNA network in Arabidopsis that includes 66 core TFs,318 miRNAs,and 1712 downstream genes.We found that miRNAs occupy distinct niches and enrich miRNA-containing feed-forward loops(FFLs),particularly those with miRNAs as intermediate nodes.Further analyses revealed that miRNA-containing FFLs coordinate TFs located in different hierarchical layers and that intertwined miRNA-containing FFLs are associated with party and date miRNA hubs.Using the date hub MIR858A as an example,we performed detailed molecular and genetic analyses of three interconnected miRNA-containing FFLs.These analyses revealed individual functions of the selected miRNA-containing FFLs and elucidated how the date hub miRNA fulfills multiple regulatory roles.Collectively,our findings highlight the prevalence and importance of miRNA-containing FFLs,and provide new insights into the design principles and control logics of miRNA regulatory networks governing gene expression programs in plants.
