Biomimetic design of highly flexible metal oxide nanofibrous membranes with exceptional mechanical performance for superior phosphopeptide enrichment

Developing free-standing and mechanical robust membrane materials capable of superior enrichment of phosphopeptides for analyzing and identifying the specific phosphoproteome of cancer cells is significant in understanding the molecular mechanisms of cancer development and exploring new therapeutic approaches,but still a significant challenge in materials *** this end,we firstly constructed highly flexible ZrTiO_(4) nanofibrous membranes(NFMs)with excellent mechanical stability through a cost-effective and scalable electrospinning and subsequent calcination ***,to further increase the enrichment capacity of the phosphopeptide,the biomimetic TiO_(2)@ZrTiO_(4) NFMs with root hair or leaf like branch microstructure are developed by the hydrothermal post-synthetic modification of ZrTiO_(4) NFMs through growing unfurling TiO_(2) nanosheets onto the ZrTiO_(4) ***,remarkable flexibility and mechanical stability enable the resulting TiO_(2)@ZrTiO_(4) NFMs excellent practicability,while the biomimetic microstructure allows it outstanding enrichment ability of the phosphopeptide and identification ability of the specific phosphoproteins in the digest of cervical cancer ***,6770 phosphopeptides can be enriched by TiO_(2)@ZrTiO_(4) NFMs(2205 corresponding phosphoproteins can be identified),and the value is much higher than that of ZrTiO_(4) NFMs(6399 phosphopeptides and 2132 identified phosphoproteins)and commercial high-performance TiO_(2) particles(4525 phosphopeptides and 1811 identified phosphoproteins).These results demonstrate the super ability of TiO_(2)@ZrTiO_(4) NFMs in phosphopeptide enrichment and great potential for exploring the pathogenesis of cancer.

Influence of Current Density on the Photocatalytic Activity of Nd:TiO_(2) Coatings

The Nd:TiO_(2 )PEO coatings were formed in a phosphate-based electrolyte with the addition of Nd_(2)O_(3 )under the current density of 150,200,250 and 300 m A/cm^(2).SEM results showed that the micropores decreased on quantity and increased on scale with the increasing current *** results revealed that the roughness of the coatings increased with the increasing current *** and composition analysis showed that the Nd:TiO_(2) coatings were mainly composed of anatase and rutile *** the anatase phase content has reached the maximum value at the current density of 250 m A/cm^(2).XPS results indicated that Ti2p spin-orbit components of the Nd:TiO_(2) coatings are shifted towards higher binding energy,compared with the pure TiO_(2) coating,suggesting that some of the Nd^(3+)ions are combined with TiO_(2) lattice and led to *** test showed that the photocatalytic activity of Nd:TiO_(2) coatings varied in the same pattern with the anatase content variation in Nd:TiO_(2) *** photocatalytic experiment results show that the photocatalytic activity of Nd:TiO_(2) coatings can be greatly enhanced with moderate amount of Nd^(3+).However,excessive amount of Nd^(3+)does not have an effective impact on the photoctalytic activity improvement.

Precise immobilization of metal single atoms into a porphyrinic metal-organic framework for an efficient alkene hydrosilylation

Alkene hydrosilylation is one of the most concise and atom-economical methods to synthesize organosilicon ***,we reported the precise immobilization of metal single atoms(M-SAs;M=Ru,Rh,Ir,Pd,Pt,and Au)into a porphyrinic metalorganic framework(MOF)of PCN-222(PCN=porous coordination network),and then applied the resultant MOF composites of M-SAs@PCN-222 to alkene *** solvent-free conditions,Pt-SAs@PCN-222 displayed an especially high catalytic efficiency with the turnover frequency up to 119 s−1 and the maximum turnover number of 906,250 at room *** and theoretical studies revealed that there existed strong interactions between Pt-SAs@PCN-222 and the substrates,which helped to condense the substrates in the cavities of the porous *** density functional theory calculations and molecular dynamics simulations disclosed that PCN-222 could transfer electrons to Pt-SAs to enhance the silane oxidative addition and drive the reaction to proceed smoothly via Chalk–Harrod pathway.

A Denoiser for Correlated Noise Channel Decoding: Gated-Neural Network

This letter proposes a sliced-gated-convolutional neural network with belief propagation(SGCNN-BP) architecture for decoding long codes under correlated noise. The basic idea of SGCNNBP is using Neural Networks(NN) to transform the correlated noise into white noise, setting up the optimal condition for a standard BP decoder that takes the output from the NN. A gate-controlled neuron is used to regulate information flow and an optional operation—slicing is adopted to reduce parameters and lower training complexity. Simulation results show that SGCNN-BP has much better performance(with the largest gap being 5dB improvement) than a single BP decoder and achieves a nearly 1dB improvement compared to Fully Convolutional Networks(FCN).

The mechanisms of enhanced thickness-dependent DC breakdown strength of EP/MWCNTs nanocomposites

Owing to advanced power electronic and electrical applications developing towards miniaturisation and integration,the thickness-dependent DC breakdown mechanism of epoxy/multiwall-carbon-nanotube nanocomposites is under *** results indicate that the breakdown strength of nanocomposites containing 0.05 wt%multiwall-carbon-nanotubes rises by~18%,and the breakdown strength falls exponentially with increasing *** clarify the microscopic mechanism,a simulation model of DC breakdown,including carriers transport and segmental dynamics,is developed,and the accordant simulation results with experimental results indicate that the thickness-dependent DC breakdown of epoxy/multiwall-carbon-nanotube nanocomposites is determined both by segment chain dynamics and charge *** to the breakdown model analysis,the effects of multiwall-carbon-nanotube on enhanced breakdown strength are caused by the increased amount of deep traps in the interfacial region,while the influence of thickness is attributed to the enlarged segment chain displacement and electric field distortion as the voltage raising time increases.

We propose a silicon polarization-diversity coherent receiver for wavelength-multiplexing transmission without using the large-footprint arrayed waveguide grating(AWG).We have integrated our proposed coherent receiver on the silicon-on-insulator(SOI) platform for high-capacity *** the proposed coherent receiver,high-frequency photocurrent signals from other wavelengths are suppressed by electrical low-pass ***,the signal-signal beat interference(SSBI) generated from each wavelength is eliminated by the balanced *** two features lend to the proposed coherent receiver being free of the mm-scale *** have demonstrated our proposed coherent receiver to detect a 1.12-Tb/s wavelength-division-multiplexed and polarization-division-multiplexed 16-ary quadrature amplitude modulation(PDM-16-QAM) *** compact footprint of the silicon chip promises small-form-factor receivers for future ultra-high-capacity coherent communication systems that require a high integration level and low fabrication cost.

Visual observation of photonic Floquet–Bloch oscillations

Bloch oscillations(BOs),an important transport phenomenon,have been studied extensively in static systems but remain mysterious in Floquet ***,by harnessing notions from photonic analogy,we propose a generalization of the existing BOs in photonic Floquet lattices,namely the“photonic Floquet–Bloch oscillations”,which refer to rescaled photonic Bloch oscillations with a period of extended least common multiple of the modulation period and the Bloch oscillation ***,we report the first visual observation of such photonic Floquet–Bloch oscillations(FBOs)by employing waveguide fluorescence *** significantly,the FBOs surpass the existing BOs in Floquet systems and exhibit exotic properties on their own,including fractal spectrum and fractional Floquet *** new transport mechanism offers an intriguing method of wave manipulation that may contribute to rapidly developing fields in photonics,condensed matter physics,and quantum physics.

Background Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),a common respiratory disease,can be effectively treated by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Qingfei Huatan,a TCM formula,has been reported to effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of COPD ***,there is a lack of multi-centre,randomised,double-blind,controlled clinical trials documenting the clinical efficacy and safety of this formula in the treatment of acute exacerbation of COPD(AECOPD).Objective This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of Qingfei Huatan formula in the treatment of AECOPD,thereby providing high-quality clinical ***,setting,participants and interventions A total of 276 patients with AECOPD were included in this multi-centre,randomised,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial and were randomised into treatment and control groups at a ratio of 1:*** in the treatment and control groups took Qingfei Huatan granules or simulated Qingfei Huatan granules twice a day,for 14 days,in addition to Western medicine *** patients were followed up for 3 *** outcome measures The primary outcome was time taken to symptom *** secondary outcomes included duration of antibiotic use,clinical symptom and sign score,TCM syndrome score,dyspnoea score,and quality of life(QOL)***,the safety of the formula was assessed through routine urine and stool tests,electrocardiograms,liver and kidney function tests,and the observation of adverse events throughout the *** The time taken for effective stabilisation(Plisation(Plinical symptom and sign score decreased in both groups,particularly in the treatment group(P<0.01).On days 9,12 and 14 of treatment,the TCM syndrome scores of both groups were reduced(P<0.01),with more significant reductions in the treatm

NIR-IIb-triggered photodynamic therapy combined with chemotherapy platform based on rare-earth-doped nanoparticles

Photodynamic therapy(PDT),with high spatiotemporal selectivity,minimal side effects and less drug resistance,has emerged as a promising approach for the treatment of ***,inadequate penetration depth and poor efficacy seriously restrict its practical *** address these challenges,we developed a combined therapy platform(RENP@C/D-FA)based on rare-earth-doped nanoparticles(RENPs)with a structure of NaErF_(4):Tm(0.5%)@NaYF_(4),on which photosensitizer Ce6(chlorin e6)and chemo-therapeutic drug(DOX)(doxorubicin)were loaded by encapsulating with an amphiphilic polymer distearoyl phosphatidylethanolamine-polyethylene glycol-folic acid(DSPE-PEG-FA).RENPs with NaErF_(4) as the matrix possess multiple excitation/emission peaks,enabling activation of PDT under near-infrared-Ⅱb(NIR-Ⅱb,1500-1700 nm)excitation and luminescence imaging in NIR-Ⅱb region by absorbing 808 nm near-infrared ***,DOX can be selectively released in the acidic microenvironment of *** from the tumor targeting capability of folic acid,this platform can successfully ablate tumor cells and inhibit tumor growth by combining PDT and *** innovative approach holds great promise as a powerful tool for cancer treatment,showing the potential to revolutionize PDT.

Effect of Direct Aging on Corrosion Behavior of AlSi10Mg Alloy Fabricated by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

Effect of direct aging of 170℃on corrosion behavior of laser powder bed fused AlSi10Mg(LPBF-AlSi10Mg)was studied by microstructure analysis,electrochemical analysis and X-ray photoelectron *** results show that direct aging of 170℃has little effect on melt pool and Si cellular structure,but promotes the precipitation of nano-Si particles and releases the residual *** increasing aging time from 0 to 4 h to 24 h,the corrosion property of the LPBF-AlSi10Mg is deteriorated,which is evidenced by increased corrosion current density and decreased pitting potential and polarization *** increasing the aging time,the thickness of the oxide film formed on surface of the LPBF-AlSi10Mg *** Si content of the oxide film of the sample aging for 4 h is the lowest,9.42 at.%,and it is the highest,18.62 at.%,for the sample aging for 24 *** electrochemical noise analysis reveals that the middle-frequency contribution of the Hilbert spectrum is responsible for the deteriorated corrosion performance,which corresponds to metastable pitting initiated by nano-Si particles.
