The first extracting mirror is very important for synchrotron radiation monitor (SRM). The SRM system of SSRF (Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility) should extract the visible light with low optical distortion. The analysis of SR power spectrum and heat transfiguration based on Matlab is introduced in this paper, which will be used in calibration. One beryllium mirror with water-cooling is used to transmit X-ray and reflect visible light to satisfy the measurement request. The existing system suffers from a dynamic problem in some beam physics study. The system includes optics, image acquisition and interferometers. One of the instruments is a digital camera providing the image of the beam transverse profile. The hardware configuration will be summarized. The synchrotron radiation measurement system has been in operation in SSRF for more than one year.

SSRF diagnostics system will adopt a new generation digital electron beam position processor,Libera,as the signal condition,signal processing and data acquisition device for beam position monitor.In order to provide a uniform data and control interface for users,we developed an EPICS interface based on Control System Programming Interface (CSPI) layer,allowing the performance of the electron beam to be monitored through EPICS channels.In this interface a new record type for BPM was defined and its associated support routines were implemented.

In order to suppress multi-bunch couple instabilities caused by transverse impedance, a bunch-by-bunch transverse feedback system based on a FPGA digital processor is commissioned at SSRF storage ring. The RF front end has two COD pre-rejected attenuators for increasing the system arrangement and signal noise ratio, and the 3*RF Local signal comes from the BPM's sum signal using a FIR filter for avoiding the effect of longitudinal oscillation. The digital processor receives the coupled horizontal and vertical oscillation signals in the base band and transforms the coupled signals to the horizontal and vertical feedback signals with two series double-zeroes FIR filters. A matlab GUI is applied for producing the FIR coefficients when the tune is shifted. The horizontal and vertical Kickers have a special design for increasing the shunt impedance. Then the multi-bunch instabilities are suppressed respectively and the minimum damping time is about 0.4 ms.

As a third generation light source, Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) has up to 140 beam position monitors (BPM) installed to monitor the beam dynamics on its storage ring. Once the operation mode is chosen, the betatron functions are determined. Since the sinusoidal betatron oscillation is the dominant component of the transverse motion, these BPMs can be used to measure the motion to get the betatron functions. Three methods are compared to calculate the phase advance among the BPMs in this paper, aiming to find one or more feasible ways to check the beam optics in SSRF. Some experiments have also been made to verify the practicality of the phase information.

In this paper,in order to achieve the output signal processing of cavity beam position monitor(CBPM),we develop a digital intermediate frequency receiver architecture based signal processing system,which consists of radio frequency(RF) front end and high speed data acquisition board.The beam position resolution in the CBPM signal processing system is superior to 1μm.Two signal processing algorithms,fast Fourier transform(FFT) and digital down converter(DDC),are evaluated offline using MATLAB platform,and both can be used to achieve,the CW input signal,position resolutions of 0.31μm and 0.10μm at -16 dBm.The DDC algorithm for its good compatibility is downloaded into the FPGA to realize online measurement,reaching the position resolution of 0.49μm due to truncation error.The whole system works well and the performance meets design target.

RF circuit board has a significant impact on performance of the Digital Beam Position Monitor (DBPM) in storage ring of a synchrotron radiation facility.In this paper,a front-end RF board is designed for DBPM,and schematics of the RF board and the test results are given.In view of the inevitable inconsistency in the multi-channel circuit,a calibration circuit is designed to reduce such an influence.The test results show that the calibration method is useful for beam current dependence which is sensitive to channels inconsistency.

为了研究高能电子加速器储存环中的注入瞬态过程及束流不稳定性问题,上海光源束测组开发了可实现逐束团三维位置和电荷量的精确测量的宽带示波器信号处理软件包HOTCAP。但该软件包未特别针对数据处理速度进行算法和代码执行效率的优化,完成单次测量数据的处理分析所需时间达到数十分钟量级,不能完全满足实时测量的需要。为解决这一问题,对HOTCAP软件包各功能模块进行了运行效率测试及算法优化,优化后单次测量数据处理时间缩短10倍以上,可满足高能电子储存环状态的实时监控与数据在线发布需求。

DBPM system performance is determined by the design and implementation of beam position signal processing algorithm.In order to develop the system,a beam position signal processing algorithm is implemented on FPGA.The hardware is a PMC board ICS-1554A-002(GE Corp.)with FPGA chip XC5VSX95T.This paper adopts quadrature frequency mixing to down convert high frequency signal to base.Different from conventional method,the mixing is implemented by CORDIC algorithm.The algorithm theory and implementation details are discussed in this paper.As the board contains no front end gain controller,this paper introduces a published patent-pending technique that has been adopted to realize the function in digital logic.The whole design is implemented with VHDL language. An on-line evaluation has been carried on SSRF(Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility)storage ring.Results indicate that the system turn-by-turn data can measure the real beam movement accurately,and system resolution is 1.1μm.

This fully digital beam position measurement instrument is designed for beam position monitoring and machine research in Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility. The signals received from four position-sensitive detectors are narrow pulses with a repetition rate up to 499.654 MHz and a pulse width of around 100 ps, and their dynamic range could vary over more than 40 dB in machine research. By the employment of the under-sampling technique based on high-speed high-resolution A/D conversion, all the processing procedure is performed fully by the digital signal processing algorithms integrated in one single Field Programmable Gate Array. This system functions well in the laboratory and commissioning tests, demonstrating a position resolution (at the turn by turn rate of 694 kHz) better than 7 μm over the input amplitude range of -40 dBm to 10 dBm which is well beyond the requirement.
