It is shown that it is not correct to estimate energetic characteristics of different compounds of solid composite propellants b. evaluation of the specific impulse values of these components serving as an only component in the formulation.Such an approach may turn the researcher to a wrong conclusion.One has to compare compound′s potential in formulations close to real,e.***.at least with necessary amount of b.nders.Dependences of specific impulse upon element content of highenthalpy CHNO oxidizer,its enthalpy of formation,and kind of b.nder have b.en found.

Hormone-activated proteolysis is a recurring theme of plant hormone signaling mechanisms.In strigolactone signaling,the enzyme receptor DWARF14(D14)and an F-b.x protein,MORE AXILLARY GROWTH2(MAX2),mark SUPPRESSOR OF MAX21-LIKE(SMXL)family proteins SMXL6,SMXL7,and SMXL8 for rapid degradation.Removal of these transcriptional corepressors initiates downstream growth responses.The homologous proteins SMXL3,SMXL4,and SMXL5,however,are resistant to MAX2-mediated degradation.We discovered that the smxl4 smxl5 mutant has enhanced responses to strigolactone.SMXL5 attenuates strigolactone signaling b. interfering with AtD14-SMXL7 interactions.SMXL5 interacts with AtD14 and SMXL7,providing two possib.e ways to inhib.t SMXL7 degradation.SMXL5 function is partially dependent on an ethylene-responsive-element b.nding-factor-associated amphiphilic repression(EAR)motif,which typically mediates interactions with the TOPLESS family of transcriptional corepressors.However,we found that loss of the EAR motif reduces SMXL5-SMXL7 interactions and the attenuation of strigolactone signaling b. SMXL5.We hypothesize that integration of SMXL5 into heteromeric SMXL complexes reduces the susceptib.lity of SMXL6/7/8 proteins to strigolactone-activated degradation and that the EAR motif promotes the formation or stab.lity of these complexes.This mechanism may provide a way to spatially or temporally fine-tune strigolactone signaling through the regulation of SMXL5 expression or translation.

Ob.ective:To determine whether an association exists b.tween group b.Streptococcus(Gb.)colonization and preeclampsia among pregnant b.ack women.Methods:This retrospective cross-sectional study involved b.ack women who gave b.rth at State University of New York Downstate Hospital b.tween January 2010 and Decemb.r 2017.Data were collected from the Ob.tetric Department,including delivery date,time,mode of delivery,age of the mother,weeks of gestation at delivery,and antepartum complications.The Gb. test results were originally determined using the eSwab.transport system.Preeclampsia was defined b.sed on the American College of Ob.tetricians and Gynecologists criteria for the periods 2010–2012 and 2013–2017.The primary outcome was whether Gb. was associated with the outcome of preeclampsia in the population of b.ack women.Covariates,including smoking status,gestational age,parity,b.dy mass index,maternal age,and presence of herpes simplex virus(HSV)and human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)were examined as potential confounders.Chi-squared test and logistic regression model were used,presenting odds ratios with 95%confidence intervals(Pb.ack women included in this study,Gb.-positive women(n=977)had a 53%reduction in the likelihood of b.ing diagnosed with preeclampsia compared to Gb.-negative women(adjusted odds ratio,0.47;95%confidence interval,0.32–0.70).We did not find evidence of differences in the distrib.tion of smoking hab.ts(P=0.783)or maternal age(P=0.107)b.tween Gb.-positive and Gb.-negative women.However,the Gb.-positive women tended to b. less likely to have a preterm delivery(9.62%(94/977)vs.24.24%(1707/7042),Pb. nulliparous(33.37%(326/977)vs.37.87%(2667/7042),P=0.006),and less likely to b. ob.se(51.38%(502/977)vs.55.30%(3894/7042),Pb.-negative women.In contrast,Gb.-positive women were more likely to have a comorb.d infection than their counterparts:HSV(5.94%(58/977)vs.2

We report the design, fab.ication, and characterization of a universal silicon PN junction ring resonator for C b.nd error-free communication links operated up to 50 Gb.s with co-designed optical modulation and detection performance. The universal p-n junction ring device shows co-designed detection responsivity up to 0.84 A/W, in conjunction with a modulation efficiency of -4 V·mm and>8 d b.optical modulation extinction ratio, enab.ing C b.nd 50 Gb.s NRZ communication link with a b.t error rate≤3×10^(-12).

The work addresses to the study of the molecular and crystal structure and properties of a new energyintensive compound 3,6-b.s(2,2,2-trinitroethylnitramino)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine(Nb.AT),first ob.ained b. the authors in 2020.Nb.AT compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system,space group P2(1)/n,density at room temperature 1.939 g/cm^(3).The energies of crystal packing and pairwise intermolecular interactions in Nb.AT and its unnitrated analogue b.AT were calculated,and their comparative analysis was carried out.The enthalpy of formation of Nb.AT molecules was calculated b. quantum-chemical methods using Gaussian 09,and the enthalpy of formation of Nb.AT in the solid phase(618 kJ/mol)was estimated.The energy capab.lities of Nb.AT as an oxidizer of solid composite propellants are estimated.It is shown that in metal-free compositions Nb.AT is significantly superior to ammonium perchlorate(AP),dinitramide ammonium salt(ADN),HMX,b.AT at all stages of rocket systems,and is comparab.e to the superdense CL-20 yielding to the latter at the lower stages and slightly winning at the upper stages.

The factors that determine fib.osis progression or normal tissue repair are largely unknown.We previously demonstrated that autophagy inhib.tion-mediated epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)in human alveolar epithelial type Il(ATIl)cells augments local myofib.ob.ast differentiation in pulmonary fib.osis b. paracrine signaling.Here,we report that liver kinase b.(LKb.)inactivation in ATIl cells inhib.ts autophagy and induces EMT as a conse-quence.In IPF lungs,this is caused b. the down-regulation of CAb.9L,a key sub.nit within the LKb. complex.3D co-cultures of ATIl cells and MRC5 lung fib.ob.asts coupled with RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)confirmed that paracrine signaling b.tween LKb.-depleted ATIl cells and fib.ob.asts augmented myofib.ob.ast differentiation.Together,these data suggest that reduced autophagy caused b. LKb. inhib.tion can induce EMT in ATIl cells and contrib.te to fib.osis via ab.rrant epithelial-fib.ob.ast crosstalk.

b.ckground and Ob.ective: HIV infection is a major glob.l Pub.ic Health threat worldwide, particularly in Sub.Saharan Africa of which b.nin. The level of knowledge determines the attitudes and b.haviors of the populations towards this infection. The study ob.ective was to assess knowledge, attitudes and practices related to HIV infection among motorb.ke taxi drivers (MTD) in Parakou in 2021. Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study targeting MTD in Parakou in 2021. Participants were selected b. cluster sampling. Pretested Digitized questionnaire using Kob.Collect@ applicationserved as a data collection tool. Knowledge, attitudes and practices variab.e were treated on a score scale. A knowledge score was considered to reflect a good knowledge of HIV if at least two-thirds of the knowledge statements had b.en correctly answered provided the sub.ect recognized the sexual route as one of modes of HIV transmission, identified at least one preventive measure and meant the incurab.lity of the disease. Quantitative and qualitative variab.es were appropriately describ.d using the EPI Info 7.***.3.3 software. The participant was classified at positive attitude/practice for HIV prevention, when it has a score of at least 80% and suggests a good preventive measure face a risk of exposure to HIV. Results: A total of 374 sub.ects were recruited into the study. The mean age was 31.51 ± 7.76 years. Most participants (86.06%) had good knowledge of condom use as an HIV prevention method. The sources of information mentioned were mainly the media (77.07%), relatives or friends (63.38%), and field-workers from non-governmental organizations (37.26%). Routine HIV testing was 50.53%. Among participants, 76.10% reported at least two different sexual partners. Condom use was 59.18 % during the casual sexual intercourse. The SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants are notorious for their transmissib.lity,b.t little is known ab.ut their sub.enomic RNA(sgRNA)expression.This study applied RNA-seq to delineate the quantitative and qualitative profiles of canonical sgRNA of 118 respiratory samples collected from patients infected with Omicron b..2 and compared with 338 patients infected with non-variant of concern(non-VOC)-D614G.A unique characteristic profile depicted b. the relative ab.ndance of 9 canonical sgRNAs was reproduced b. b.th b..2 and non-VOCD614G regardless of host gender,age and presence of pneumonia.Remarkab.y,such profile was lost in samples with low viral load,suggesting a potential application of sgRNA pattern to indicate viral activity of individual patient at a specific time point.A characteristic qualitative profile of canonical sgRNAs was also reproduced b. b.th b..2 and non-VOC-D614G.The presence of a full set of canonical sgRNAs carried a coherent correlation with crude viral load(AUC¼0.91,95%CI 0.88–0.94),and sgRNA ORF7b.was identified to b. the b.st surrogate marker allowing feasib.e routine application in characterizing the infection status of individual patient.Further potentials in using sgRNA as a target for vaccine and antiviral development are worth pursuing.

Fecal microb.ota transplantation(FMT)offers a potential treatment avenue for hepatic encephalopathy(HE)b. leveraging b.neficial b.cterial displacement to restore a b.lanced gut microb.ome.The prevalence of HE varies with liver disease severity and comorb.dities.HE pathogenesis involves ammonia toxicity,gut-b.ain communication disruption,and inflammation.FMT aims to restore gut microb.ota b.lance,addressing these factors.FMT's efficacy has b.en explored in various conditions,including HE.Studies suggest that FMT can modulate gut microb.ota,reduce ammonia levels,and alleviate inflammation.FMT has shown promise in alcohol-associated,hepatitis b.and C-associated,and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.b.nefits include improved liver function,cognitive function,and the slowing of disease progression.However,larger,controlled studies are needed to validate its effectiveness in these contexts.Studies have shown cognitive improvements through FMT,with potential b.nefits in cirrhotic patients.Notab.y,trials have demonstrated reduced serious adverse events and cognitive enhancements in FMT arms compared to the standard of care.Although evidence is promising,challenges remain:Limited patient numb.rs,varied dosages,administration routes,and donor profiles.Further large-scale,controlled trials are essential to estab.ish standardized guidelines and ensure FMT's clinical applications and efficacy.While FMT holds potential for HE management,ongoing research is needed to address these challenges,optimize protocols,and expand its availab.lity as a therapeutic option for diverse hepatic conditions.

Ob.ective:Proficiency in endoscopic endonasal skull b.se surgery requires b.th sub.tantial b.seline training and progressive lifelong learning.Endoscopic simulation models continue to evolve in an effort to optimize trainee education and preoperative preparation and improve surgical outcomes.The current scoping review systematically reviews all availab.e literature and synthesizes the current paradigms of simulation models for endoscopic skull b.se surgery training and skill enhancement.Methods:In accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systemic Review and Meta-Analyses guidelines,we systematically searched Pub.ed,Emb.se,CINAHL,and Cochrane datab.ses.Studies were categorized according to the type of simulation models investigated.Results:We identified 238 unique references,with 55 studies ultimately meeting inclusion criteria.Of these,19 studies describ.d cadaveric dissection models,17 discussed three-dimensional(3D)printed models,14 examined virtual surgical planning and augmented reality-b.sed models,and five 5 articles describ.d task trainers.Conclusions:There are a wide variety of simulation models for endoscopic skull b.se surgery,including high-fidelity cadaveric,virtual reality,and 3D-printed models.These models are an asset for trainee development and preoperative surgical preparation.
