Investigating the attributes of the dual oasis effect and oasis–desert interactions is crucial for understanding the climatic and ecological effects of *** this study,oasis effect intensity(OEI)was used as an indicator to investigate the factors that contribute to the dual oasis *** oasis effect has two attributes:the surface oasis heating effect(OHE)occurred in winter,while the oasis cooling effect(OCE)occurred in the other three seasons,especially in *** the day,the OEI of the whole oasis was−12.8℃,−5.2℃,and−4.5℃ in summer,spring,and autumn,respectively,which indicated a strong OCE;and OEI was 0.5℃ in winter,which indicated a weaker *** arid regions,the OCE dominated most of the time,but the OHE occurred in winter and cannot be *** addition,through statistical analysis and energy balance analysis,high evapotranspiration of the oasis was the main factor leading to the occurrence of OCE in the summer,while low albedo to the occurrence of OHE in winter.

Quantitative Evaluation of Aldo-keto Reductase Expression in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) Cell Lines

The involvement of aldo-keto reductases （AKRs） in tumorigenesis is widely reported, but their roles in the pathological process are not generally recognized due to inconsistent measure- ments of their expression. To overcome this problem, we simultaneously employed real-time PCR to examine gene expression and multiple reaction monitoring （MRM） of mass spectrometry （MS） to examine the protein expression of AKRs in five different hepatic cell lines. These include one rela- tively normal hepatic cell line, L-02, and four hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） cell lines, HepG2, HUH7, BEL7402 and SMMC7721. The results of real-time PCR showed that expression of genes encoding the AKR1C family members rather than AKR1A and AKR1B was associated with tumor, and most of genes encoding AKRs were highly expressed in HUH7. Similar observations were obtained through MRM. Different from HUH7, the protein abundance of AKR1A and AKR1B was relatively consistent among the other four hepatic cell lines, while protein expression of AKR1C varied significantly compared to L-02. Therefore, we conclude that the abundant distri- bution of AKR 1C proteins is likely to be associated with liver tumorigenesis, and the AKR expres- sion status in HuH7 is completely different from other liver cancer cell lines. This study, for the first time, provided both overall and quantitative information regarding the expression of AKRs at both mRNA and protein levels in hepatic cell lines. Our observations put the previous use of AKRs as a biomarker into question since it is only consistent with our data from HUH7. Furthermore, the data presented herein demonstrated that quantitative evaluation and comparisons within a protein fam- ily at both mRNA and protein levels were feasible using current techniques.

Electrochemically induced phase transition in a nanoflower vanadium tetrasulfide cathode for high-performance zinc-ion batteries

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) are promising contenders for large-scale energy storage with the merits of their low cost,high safety,environmental friendliness,and competitive gravimetric energy ***,suitable cathode materials with long cycle life and adequate capacity are still ***,we report a nanoflower vanadium tetrasulfide/carbon nanotubes (VS_(4)/CNTs) cathode with high Znstorage *** propose a phase transition reaction mechanism from VS_(4)to zinc pyrovanadate in the initial cycles and a reversible intercalation mechanism for Zn^(2+) in zinc pyrovanadate during subsequent *** a result,the cathode delivers a high discharge capacity of 265 mAh g^(-1)at 0.25 A g^(-1)and 182 m Ah g^(-1)at 7 A g^(-1).In addition,the cathode exhibits a long-term cyclability with 93%capacity retention over 1200 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).VS_(4)/CNTs with superior electrochemical performance is a hopeful cathode material in AZIBs.

Soil samples were collected from both bare and vegetated mine railings to study the changes in bacterial communities and soil chemical properties of copper mine tailings due to reed （Phragmites communis） colonization. The structures of bacterial communities were investigated using culture-independent 16S rRNA gene sequencing method. The bacterial diversity in the bare mine tailing was lower than that of the vegetated mine tailing. The former was dominated by sulfur metabolizing bacteria, whereas the latter was by nitrogen fixing bacteria. The bare mine tailing was acidic （pH = 3.78）, whereas the vegetated mine tailing was near neutral （pH ： 7.28）. The contents of organic matter, total nitrogen, and ammonium acetate-extractable potassium in vegetated mine tailings were significantly higher than those in the bare mine railings （P 〈 0.01）, whereas available phosphorus and electrical conductivity were significantly lower than those in the bare mine tailings （P 〈 0.01）. The results demonstrated that 16S rRNA gene sequencing could be successfully used to study the bacterial diversity in mine tailings. The colonization of the mine tailings by reed significantly changed the bacterial community and the chemical properties of tailings. The complex interactions between bacteria and plants deserve further investigation.

Three 1 D chain coordination polymers [Ln(pydc)2(H2 O)2]n·n Him(Ln = Dy(1), Gd(2), Sm(3), H2 pydc = pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid, Im = imidazole), were solvothermally synthesized by the reaction of pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid(H2 pydc), Ln(Ⅲ) salts and imidazole. They have been characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction, IR spectra, TGA analysis and elemental analysis. Structural analyses revealed that complexes 1~3 have similar 1 D chain structures and belong to P1 space group. It is noteworthy that complexes 1~3 exhibited excellent thermal stability and no weightlessness below 117 ℃. Meanwhile, 1 and 3 show characteristic fluorescence of corresponding lanthanide metal ions in solid state at room temperature.

Protein extraction is a critical step for two-dimensional electrophoresis （2-DE）. Different plant samples require different and adaptive protein extraction protocols. The leaves of medicinal plant, Baphicacanthus cusia （Nees） Bremek are notoriously recalcitrant to common protein extraction methods due to high levels of interfering compounds （especially the secondary metabolites and pigments）. This study was aimed to establish a routine procedure for the proteomic analysis ofB. cusia leaves, and a new protocol for the protein extraction was developed by optimizing trichloroacetic acid （TCA）/ acetone extraction method. The efficiency of this protocol was demonstrated by comparison with 3 published protein extraction methods （chloroform/acetone, Mg/NP-40, Tris-base/acetone）. The results showed that the optimized TCA/ acetone precipitation extraction method gave a relatively high protein yield （9.263 mg g^-1 fresh weight）, high-resolution separation, clear protein profiles, the highest proteins spots （1 31 t protein spots）, and displayed less contamination in 2- DE gels. Therefore, the results suggested that the optimized TCA/acetone method was the most effective among the 4 methods for B. cusia leaves.

A divalent ion doped LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 solid solution, LiNi0.79Co0.20Ca0.01O2, was synthesized in air at 720℃. The structure and electrochemical property as cathode material of lithium ion batteries were measured by XRD and charge-discharge system. The solid solution showed high capacity and good cycle-ability. The second discharged capacity reached 190 mAh穏-1 at the current density of 100 mA穏-1.
