Boosting overall water splitting by incorporating sulfur into NiFe(oxy)hydroxide

Developing highly active and cost-effective electrocatalysts for enhancing the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is a significant challenge for overall water ***-incorporated nickel iron(oxy)hydroxide(S-NiFeOOH)nanosheets were directly grown on commercial nickel foam using a galvanic corrosion method and a hydrothermal *** incorporation of sulfur into NiFeOOH enhanced the catalytic activity for the HER and OER in 1 M KOH *** enhanced catalytic activity is attributed to the change in the local structure and chemical states due to the incorporation of *** performance for overall water splitting was achieved with an alkaline water *** was realized by employing S-NiFeOOH as a bifunctional electrocatalyst,thereby outperforming a water electrolyzer that requires the usage of precious metal electrocatalysts(i.e.,Pt/C as the HER electrocatalyst and IrO_(2) as the OER electrocatalyst).Moreover,when driven by a commercial silicon solar cell,an alkaline water electrolyzer that uses S-NiFeOOH as a bifunctional electrocatalyst generated hydrogen under natural *** study shows that S-NiFeOOH is a promising candidate for a large-scale industrial implementation of hydrogen production for overall water splitting because of its low cost,high activity,and *** addition,the solar-driven water electrolyzer using S-NiFeOOH as a bifunctional electrocatalyst affords the opportunity for developing effective and feasible solar power systems in the future.

Chemical vapor deposition(CVD)is one of the most versatile techniques for the controlled synthesis of functional *** multiple precursors are induced,the CVD process often gives rise to the growth of doped or alloy *** this work,we demonstrate the self-assembly of a variety of‘phase-separated’functional nanostructures from a single CVD in the presence of various *** specific,with silicon substrate and powder of Mn and SnTe as precursors,we achieved self-organized nanostructures including Si/SiOx core-shell nanowire heterostructures both with and without embedded manganese silicide particles,Mn11Si19 nanowires,and SnTe *** Si/SiOx core-shell nanowires embedded with manganese silicide particles were grown along thedirection of the crystalline Si via an Au-catalyzed vapor-liquid-solid process,in which the Si and Mn vapors were supplied from the heated silicon substrates and Mn powder,*** contrast,direct vapor-solid deposition led to particle-free-oriented Si/SiOx core-shell nanowires and-oriented Mn11Si19 nanowires,a promising thermoelectric *** Sn or Te impurities were detected in these nanostructures down to the experimental *** crystalline insulator SnTe nanoplates with dominant{100}and{111}facets were found to be free of Mn(and Si)impurities,although nanoparticles and nanowires containing Mn were found in the vicinity of the *** multiple-channel transport was observed in the SnTe nanoplates,it may not be related to the topological surface states due to surface ***,we carried out thermodynamic analysis and density functional theory calculations to understand the‘phase-separation’phenomenon and further discuss general approaches to grow phase-pure samples when the precursors contain residual impurities.

Ti-Si-C-N nanocomposite coatings were synthesized using a filtered vacuum arc（FVA） technique with varying silicon（Si） content.A metal organic precursor,tetramethylsilane（TMS）,was used as the silicon and carbon *** Si content in the films was varied in a range of 2.1 to 16.2 at.% by changing the flow rates of TMS from 5 to 20 ***-deposited films were investigated for chemical and structural properties using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）,X-ray diffraction（XRD） and transmission electron microscopy（TEM）,*** and scratch studies were carried out for extracting mechanical properties of the Ti-Si-C-N *** and TEM results revealed that the formation of nanocrystalline TiCN phase and amorphous Si3N4 with different silicon contents on nanocomposite *** chemical state of for Ti-Si-C-N nanocomposite coating result indicates the Ti 2p3/2 for 457.06,N 1s for 396.9 eV,Si3N4 for 101.8 eV and SiC at both 100.4 eV and 100.7 eV the peak signals observed according to their binding *** the silicon content in the films was found to control the microstructure and crystallite size of TiCN phase.A maximum hardness of 42 GPa and a coefficient of friction of 0.17 were obtained for the film containing a silicon content of 3 at.%.

联合国将碳中和视为当今世界最为紧迫的任务,而农业是温室气体排放最多的产业之一,各国相继出台政策积极开展农业农村减排工作。韩国自2012年开始逐渐减少海洋粪污排泄量,并大力实行绿色种养循环农业,解决本国内畜禽粪污问题。韩国作为中国的重要海上邻国,不论是从研究借鉴角度抑或生态系统共享角度,了解其环境保护政策都是十分必要的。本文从韩国实施的主要政策、各地区农地养分收支现状、代表性运营模式案例、政策关注焦点等方面介绍韩国绿色种养循环农业的发展概况,结合中国绿色种养循环农业现状开展研究。提出三点政策建议:第一,进一步完善畜禽粪污资源化利用机具补贴辅助管理系统,提高系统在农户中的普及率;第二,提高全民环保意识的同时,政府的角色不应局限自上而下的引导型,应该积极促进种植户和养殖户间的自发组织,并大力提倡吸纳社会资本,集结社会各方力量;第三,促进绿色种养循环农业产品的商品化和品牌化,从而调动农户参与绿色种养循环农业的积极性。

Osteochondral tissue is a highly specialized and complex tissue composed of articular cartilage and subchondral bone that are separated by a calcified cartilage *** or gradient scaffolds,often in conjunction with stem cells and growth factors,have been developed to mimic the respective layers for osteochondral defect *** this study,we designed a hyaline cartilage-hypertrophic cartilage bilayer graft(RGD/RGDW)with ***,we demonstrated that RGD peptide-modified chondroitin sulfate cryogel(RGD group)is chondro-conductive and capable of hyaline cartilage ***,we incorporated whitlockite(WH),a Mg2+-containing calcium phosphate,into RGD cryogel(RGDW group)to induce chondrocyte hypertrophy and form collagen X-rich hypertrophic *** is the first study to use WH to produce hypertrophic ***-laden RGDW cryogel exhibited significantly upregulated expression of hypertrophy markers in vitro and formed ectopic hypertrophic cartilage in vivo,which mineralized into calcified cartilage in bone ***,RGD cryogel and RGDW cryogel were combined into bilayer(RGD/RGDW group)and implanted into rabbit osteochondral defect,where RGD layer supports hyaline cartilage regeneration and bioceramic-containing RGDW layer promotes calcified cartilage *** the RGD group(monolayer)formed hyaline-like neotissue that extends into the subchondral bone,the RGD/RGDW group(bilayer)regenerated hyaline cartilage tissue confined to its respective layer and promoted osseointegration for integrative defect repair.
