Increasing global demand for food presents a significant challenge to maintaining soil health and sustainable production of agricultural crops. As plant root-associated microbial fitness is greatly impacted by community growth, development, and nutrient acquisition, the cultivation of functional assembly of root-associated microbes may provide solutions for achieving food security while maintaining healthy soils. Here, we propose a four-part strategy to promote soil health and agricultural productivity by partnering crops with root-associated microbes.

The numerical manifold method(NMM)introduces the mathematical and physical cover to solve both continuum and discontinuum problems in a unified *** this study,the NMM for solving steady-state nonlinear heat conduction problems is presented,and heat conduction problems consider both convection and radiation boundary ***,the nonlinear governing equation of thermal conductivity,which is dependent on temperature,is transformed into the Laplace equation by introducing the Kirchhoff *** transformation reserves linearity of both the Dirichlet and the Neumann boundary conditions,but the robin and radiation boundary conditions remain ***,the NMM is employed to solve the Laplace equation using a simple iteration procedure because the nonlinearity focuses on parts of the problem domain ***,the temperature field is retrieved through the inverse Kirchhoff *** examples are analyzed,demonstrating the advantages of the Kirchhoff transformation over the direct solution of nonlinear equations using the NewtonRaphson *** study provides a new method for calculating nonlinear heat conduction.

Constructing a S-scheme heterojunction with tight interface contact and fast charge transfer is beneficial to improving the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution ***,a unique one-dimensional(1D)/two-dimensional(2D)S-scheme heterojunction containing 1D Sb_(2)S_(3) nanorods and 2D ZnIn_(2)S_(4) with affluent sulfur vacancies(denoted as Sv-ZnIn_(2)S_(4)@Sb_(2)S_(3)) was *** introduced sulfur vacancy can promote the effective adsorption of H+for the following interfacial hydrogen-evolution ***,the larger contact area and stronger electron interaction between Sb_(2)S_(3) and ZnIn_(2)S_(4) effectively inhibits the recombination of photo-generated electron–hole pairs and abridges the migration distance of *** a result,the optimal Sv-ZnIn_(2)S_(4)@Sb_(2)S_(3) sample achieves H_(2) evolution activity of 2741.3 mol·h^(−1)·g^(−1),which is 8.6 times that of pristine ZnIn_(2)S_(4) and 3.0 times that of the Sv-ZnIn_(2)S_(4) *** on the experimental result,the photo-reactivity S-scheme mechanism of hydrogen evolution from water splitting with Sv-ZnIn_(2)S_(4)@Sb_(2)S_(3) is *** work provides an effective method for developing S-scheme heterojunction composites of transition metal sulfide with high hydrogen evolution performance.

In this paper, we are concerned with the Riesz transform on the direct product manifold H^(n)× M,where H^(n) is the n-dimensional real hyperbolic space, and M is a connected complete non-compact Riemannian manifold satisfying the volume doubling property and generalized Gaussian or sub-Gaussian upper estimates for the heat kernel. We establish its weak type(1, 1) property. In addition, we obtain the weak type(1, 1) of the heat maximal operator in the same setting. Our arguments also work for a large class of direct product manifolds with exponential volume growth. Particularly, we provide a simpler proof of weak type(1, 1) boundedness of some operators considered in the work of Li et al.(2016).

A systematic experimental study was conducted on the similarities and differences in the reactions between commonly used rare earth elements(REEs)and frequently used refractories in the steelmaking *** results indicate that the reaction behaviors of La,Ce,and Y with MgO,Al_(2)O_(3),and MgO·Al_(2)O_(3) crucibles differed *** consumption rates of La,Ce,and Y in the molten steel were in descending order of La>Ce>Y for smelting with all three kinds of *** the REEs reacted with the crucible,the contents of Mg and Al showed a trend of first increasing and then *** laboratory-scale smelting conditions,the reactions related to REEs were dominated by steel-crucible reactions,and the contact area between the unit mass of molten steel and refractory materials mainly determined the consumption rates of ***-and Ce-crucible reactions generated loose and porous reaction interfaces;however,Y-crucible reactions generated a dense Y_(2)O_(3) layer,dramatically suppressing the consumption rate of *** calculation indicated that the reactions between rare earth and different refractory materials were first-order *** crucible materials significantly affected the product type and morphology of the steel-crucible reaction interfaces,thereby influencing the consumption rate of *** reactions between REEs and refractories must be seriously considered,especially for small-scale smelting.

This work uses refined first-order shear theory to analyze the free vibration and transient responses of double-curved sandwich two-layer shells made of auxetic honeycomb core and laminated three-phase polymer/GNP/fiber surface subjected to the blast *** of the two layers that make up the double-curved shell structure is made up of an auxetic honeycomb core and two laminated sheets of three-phase polymer/GNP/*** exterior is supported by a Kerr elastic foundation with three *** key innovation of the proposed theory is that the transverse shear stresses are zero at two free surfaces of each *** contrast to previous first-order shear deformation theories,no shear correction factor is ***'s exact solution was used to treat the double-curved shell problem with a single title boundary,while the finite element technique and an eight-node quadrilateral were used to address the other boundary *** ensure the accuracy of these results,a thorough comparison technique is employed in conjunction with credible *** problem model's edge cases allow for this kind of *** study's findings may be used in the post-construction evaluation of military and civil works structures for their ability to sustain explosive *** addition,this is also an important basis for the calculation and design of shell structures made of smart materials when subjected to shock waves or explosive loads.

Strong anisotropic corrosion and mechanical properties caused by specimen orientations greatly limit the applications of wrought magnesium *** investigate the influences of specimen orientation,the corrosion tests and(corrosion)fatigue crack growth tests were *** rolled and transverse surfaces of the materials show distinct corrosion rate differences in the stable corrosion stage,but the truth is the opposite for the initial stage of *** air,specimen orientations have a significant influence on the plastic deformation mechanisms near the crack tip,which results in different fatigue fracture surfaces and cracking *** with R-T specimens,N-T specimens show a slower fatigue crack growth(FCG)rate in air,which can be attributed to crack closure effects and deformation twinning near the crack *** corrosion environment will not significantly change the main plastic deformation mechanisms for the same type of ***,the FCG rate in phosphate buffer saline(PBS)is one order of magnitude higher than that in air,which is caused by the combined effects of hydrogen-induced cracking and anodic *** to the similar corrosion rates at crack tips,the specimens with different orientations display close FCG rates in PBS.

Cavitation is a common issue in pumps,causing a decrease in pump head,a fall in volumetric efficiency,and an intensification of outlet flow *** is one of the main hazards that affect the regular operation of the *** on pump cavitation mainly focuses on mixed flow pumps,jet pumps,external spur gear pumps,***,there are few cavitation studies on external herringbone gear *** addition,pumps with different working principles significantly differ in the flow and complexity of the internal flow ***,it is urgent to study the cavitation characteristics of external herringbone gear *** with experimentalmethods,visual research and cavitation area identification are achieved through computation fluid dynamic(CFD),and changing the boundary conditions and shape of the gear rotor is *** simulation yields a head error of only 0.003%under different grid numbers,and the deviation between experimental and simulation results is less than 5%.The study revealed that cavitation causes flow pulsation at the outlet,and the cavitation serious area is mainly distributed in the meshing gap and meshing *** can be inhibited by reducing the speed,increasing the inlet pressure,and changing the helix angle can be *** example,when the inlet pressure is 5 bar,the maximumgas volume fraction in themeshing area is less than 50%.These results provide a reference for optimizing the design and finding the optimal design parameters to reduce or eliminate cavitation.

Metal ions participate in many metabolic processes in the human body,and their homeostasis is crucial for *** cardiovascular diseases(CVDs),the equilibriums of metal ions are frequently interrupted,which are related to a variety of disturbances of physiological processes leading to abnormal cardiac *** supplement of metal ions has the potential to work as therapeutic strategies for the treatment of *** with other therapeutic drugs,metal ions possess broad availability,good stability and safety and diverse drug delivery *** delivery strategies of metal ions are important to exert their ther-apeutic effects and reduce the potential toxic side effects for cardiovascular applications,which are also receiving increasing *** local delivery strategies for metal ions based on various biomaterials are constantly being *** this review,we comprehensively summarized the positive roles of metal ions in the treatment of cVDs from three aspects:protecting cells from oxidative stress,inducing angiogenesis,and adjusting the functions of ion *** addition,we introduced the transferability of metal ions in vascular reconstruction and cardiac tissue repair,as well as the currently available engineered strategies for the precise delivery of metal ions,such as integrated with nanoparticles,hydrogels and scaffolds.
