Enhanced Degradation of Methyl Parathion in the ligand Stabilized Soluble Mn(Ⅲ)-Sulfite System

The ligand-stabilized soluble Mn(Ⅲ) recognized as active intermediate can potentially mediate the attenuation of contaminants. In this study,the abiotic degradation behaviors of methyl parathion in the ligand stabilized Mn(Ⅲ)-sulfite system were investigated. The results showed that the yield of soluble Mn(Ⅲ) produced from the redox reaction of MnO2 and oxalic acid was dependent linearly on the dosage of Mn O2 and caused the decomposition of methyl parathion up to 50.1% in Mn(Ⅲ)-sulfite system after 30 minutes. The fitted pseudo-first-order reaction constants of methyl parathion degradation increased with the increasing of the amount of produced Mn(Ⅲ) but was not effected linearly by the addition of sulfite. Other ligands,including pyrophosphate and oxalic acid,acted as effective complexing agents to stabilize soluble Mn(Ⅲ),and exhibited competitive effect on methyl parathion degradation with sulfite. The formation of Mn(Ⅲ)-sulfite complexes is the critical step in the system to produce abundant reactive oxygen species identified as SO3·-to facilitate methyl parathion degradation. The hydrolysis and oxidation of methyl parathion were acknowledged as two primary transformation mechanisms in Mn(Ⅲ)-sulfite system. These findings indicate that naturally ligands-stabilized soluble Mn(Ⅲ) can be generated and could oxidatively decompose organophosphate pesticides such as methyl parathion.

The sea level variabilities, especially the atmosphere-driven sea level variabilities, which are diff erent in studies on diverse areas and timescales, need to be further documented in the Bohai Bay. Coastal sea level data and coincident meteorological data collected hourly at two observation stations (E1 and E2) in the Bohai Bay, which is a typical semi-enclosed coastal sea in China, are analyzed for the period from 19 August 2014 to 18 November 2014. The sub-sampled low-pass (levels (SlSls) at E1 and E2 are almost the same as each other, while the winds are not. On the whole, SlSls at E1 and E2 are dominantly influenced by the across-shore wind;in detail, the dominant wind orientation at E1 is 65° measured clockwise from north, and SlSl at E2 is significantly influenced by the sub-sampled wind (SW) at 55°. Regression of SlSl onto the corresponding SW in dominant orientation and the atmospheric pressure is used to predict SlSl, which make the frequency of occurrences when the predicted total sea level is within 0.15 m from the observed values increase to 66.03% and 58.08% at E1 and E2 from original 36.71% and 34.80% without using it, respectively. The results indicate that for the prediction of the total sea level variability in the coastal shallow waters, the SlSl influenced by the atmospheric forcing, including local wind and atmospheric pressure, can be predicted using the multivariable linear regression model.

low temperature heat adsorption pumps represent the innovative cooling systems, where cold is generated through adsorption/desorption cycle of water by a suitable adsorbent with good adsorption and high thermal conductive properties. In this work, the hydrothermal synthesis of zeolite SAPO-34 on thermal conductive grapbitic supports, aiming at the development of highly pertbrming adsorbent materials, is reported. The synthesis was carried out using as-received and oxidized commercial carbon papers, and graphite plate. Composites were characterized by XRD, SEM and also by a thermogravimetric method, using a Cahn microbalance. The water adsorbing capacity showed typical S-shape trend and the maximum water loading was around 25 wt%, a value close to water adsorption capability of pure SAPO-34. These results are very promising for their application in heat adsorption pumps.

Study of dolomite texture can contribute to understanding the process of *** research reports textures and homogenization temperatures of dolomites from the Permian-Triassic strata in the Sichuan Basin and the lower Paleozoic strata in the Tarim Basin,which provided insights into relationships between dolomite textures and their formation *** results are summarized as follows：1） dolomites with well-preserved texture indicate low dolomitization ***,in certain diagenetic environments,the hydrothermal dolomitization may completely or partially preserve the original texture of dolomites.2） The formation temperatures of non-planar dolomites are always higher than those of planar dolomites.3） The formation temperatures of dolomite cements are generally higher than those of replacive dolomites.4） Although the formation temperatures of saddle dolomite cements have a wide range,they show higher values than those of the planar subhedral to euhedral dolomite ***,saddle dolomites could generally be an indicator of high precipitation temperature.5） The fluid Mg/Ca ratio is another element controlling dolomite *** dolomites,which precipitate from hypersaline fluids with a high Mg/Ca ratio in a subaerial environment could also have features of non-planar anhedral crystal shape because of rapid nucleation and crystallization during dolomitization.

In this paper we present a comparative analysis of global frequency and local deformation data for a large concrete bridge. The asymptotic probability distributions of the central statistics are presented, and compared with empirical bootstrap estimates. Bootstrapped distributions are calculated from reference data obtained during 1999–2000 and used to develop change-point alarm criteria for the structure, using reasonable sensitivity measures developed from FEM simulations and structural analysis. The implications of the frequency data are discussed in conjunction with the strain and displacement measurements in order to discern if the load carrying capacity of the bridge has been affected. The critical need for more advanced temperature compensation models for large structures continually in thermal disequilibrium is discussed.

Ecosystem service is an emerging concept that grows to be a hot research area in *** explicit ecosystem service values are important for ecosystem service ***,it is difficult to quantify ecosystem *** sensing provides images covering Earth surface,which by nature are spatially ***,remote sensing can be useful for quantitative assessment of ecosystem *** paper reviews spatially explicit ecosystem service studies conducted in ecology and remote sensing in order to find out how remote sensing can be used for ecosystem service *** important areas considered include land cover,biodiversity,and carbon,water and soil related ecosystem *** found that remote sensing can be used for ecosystem service assessment in three different ways:direct monitoring,indirect monitoring,and combined use with ecosystem *** plant and water related ecosystem services can be directly monitored by remote *** commonly,remote sensing can provide surrogate information on plant and soil characteristics in an *** ecosystem process related ecosystem services,remote sensing can help measure spatially explicit *** conclude that acquiring good in-situ measurements and selecting appropriate remote sensor data in terms of resolution are critical for accurate assessment of ecosystem services.

Mixed mode Ⅰ/Ⅱ fracture erperiments of lC4-CS aluminum alloy were conductedby using tension--shear specimens with thicknesses of 2, 4, 8 and 14mm. Fracturemechanisms of thickness effect on mixed mode Ⅰ/Ⅱ fracture were first examined fromfracture surface morphology to correlate with the macroscopic fracture behavior andstress state. It is found that specimen thickness has a strong influence on mixed modefracture. As thickness varies from thin to thick the macroscopic fracture surfacesappear the characteristics of plane stress state (2mm, 4mm--thick specimen), three--dimensional stress state (8mm--thick specimens), and plane strain state (14mm--thickspecimens), respectively. The specimens of all kinds of thicknesses are typical of ten-sile type failure under mode Ⅰ loading condition and shear type failure under mode Ⅱloading condition. Two distinct features coexist on the fracture surfaces under mixedmode loading conditions, and the corresponding proportion varies with loading mix-ity. Void--growth processes are the failure mechanism in both predominately tensile-and shears--type fractures. The size and depth of dimples on the fracture surface varygreatly with thickness. Therefore, it is extraordinary necessary to take into accountthe thickness effect when a mixed mode fracture criterion is being established.
