Assessment of land use change and its effect on soil carbon stock using multitemporal satellite data in semiarid region of Rajasthan, India

Background:land use change plays a vital role in global carbon *** land use change impact on soil carbon stock is crucial for implementing land use management to increase carbon stock and reducing carbon ***,the objective of our study was to determine land use change and to assess its effect on soil carbon stock in semi-arid part of Rajasthan,*** temporal satellite data of Pushkar valley region of Rajasthan acquired on 1993,2003,and 2014 were analyzed to assess land use *** trading of land use was depicted *** organic carbon(SOC)stock was calculated for soil to a depth of 30 cm in each land use type in 2014 using field data *** SOC stock for previous years was estimated using stock change *** effect of land use change on SOC stock was determined by calculating change in SOC stock(t/ha)by deducting the base-year SOC stock from the final year stock of a particular land use ***:The total area under agricultural lands was increased by 32.14%while that under forest was decreased by 23.14%during the time period of 1993–*** land use change shows that in both the periods(1993–2003 and 2003–2014),7%of forest area was converted to agricultural land and about 15%changes occurred among agricultural *** 1993–2003,changes among agricultural land led to maximum loss of soil carbon,i.e.,4.88 Mt C and during 2003–2014,conversion of forest to agricultural land led to loss in 3.16 Mt ***:There was a continuous decrease in forest area and increase in cultivated area in each time *** use change led to alteration in carbon equity in soil due to change or loss in ***,we can conclude that the internal trading of land use area during the 10-year period(1993–2003)led to net loss of SOC stock by 8.29 Mt ***,land use change during 11-year period(2003–2014)caused net loss of SOC by 2.76 Mt *** should be made to implement proper land

Effect of organic component(tartrate) addition on cerium nitrate's ability to inhibit corrosion of mild steel in NaCl solution

Cerium tartrate（CeTar）,produced in this study by precipitating cerium nitrate with potassium sodium tartrate（kNaTar）,was examined as a corrosion *** loss tests show inhibition efficiency of 71.7% with Ce（NO3）3and 88.7% with CeTar inhibitor for one-month exposure to mild steel in 7 g/l NaCl *** inhibition efficiency drops to 28.6% with the fo rmer and remains around 8 7% with the latter inhibitor after six months of *** results from electrochemical testing indicate that the inhibition efficiency decreases by adding cerium ***,the cerium tartrate inhibitor demonstrates a nearly constant inhibition efficiency for up to 30 d,i.e.,≈90%.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy（EIS） performed in these cases shows the following results:（ⅰ） with cerium nitrate,a film of iron and cerium oxide,which on prolonged exposure diminishes,and（ⅱ） with cerium tartrate,the formation of a bimetallic film（Fe-tartrate-Ce） and a mixture of cerium hydroxide and iro n oxide that protects steel for a longer *** inferences are based on the analyses of scanning electron microscopy/energydispersive X-ray analysis（SEM/EDAX）,X-ray diffraction（XRD）,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIR）,X-ray photoelectron（XPS）,and Raman spectroscopy results.

Sustainability assessment of solar drying systems:a comparative life-cycle analysis of phase-change material-based *** solar dryers

Solar drying systems are becoming a popular alternative to traditional energy-based drying systems for agricultural products due to their effectiveness and reduced fuel *** the efficiency of solar drying systems has been thoroughly investigated,their sustainability has not been studied *** study aims to fill that gap by conducting a life-cycle assessment of two new solar drying systems built in Udaipur,Rajasthan,*** environmental implications of an innovative cylindrical solar-assisted drying system and a phase-change material-based solar drying system were evaluated using cradle-to-gate life-cycle *** study uses the ReCiPe 2016 endpoints(H)technique to calculate various aspects such as midpoint,endpoint,single score,normalization result,and network diagram for phase-change material-based solar drying and cylindrical solar-assisted *** show that phase-change material-based solar drying has an average of 40%more impact on the environment than cylindrical solar-assisted drying,with a high impact found in human non-carcinogenic toxicity,mainly due to the production of phase-change ma***,cylindrical solar-assisted drying system crossover phase-change material based solar drying in terms of its impact on human carcinogenic toxicity and fossil resource *** contribution to global warming of phase-change material-based solar drying is 13.7%more than that of cylindrical solar-assisted *** endpoint characterization indicates that phase-change material-based solar drying exceeds in terms of human health(40%)and ecosystem(37.04%),whereas cylindrical solar-assisted drying surpasses phase-change material-based solar drying in terms of impacts on resources,at 14%.The early drying in phase-change material-based solar drying makes up for its higher impact than that in cylindrical solar-assisted drying,which takes 3 hours longer to *** study offers guidance and methods for making the best choice of

Accelerated intermetallic phase amorphization in a Mg-based high-entropy alloy powder

We describe a novel mechanism for the synthesis of a stable high-entropy alloy powder from an otherwise immiscible Mg-Ti rich metallic mixture by employing high-energy mechanical *** presented methodology expedites the synthesis of amorphous alloy powder by strategically injecting entropic disorder through the inclusion of multi-principal elements in the alloy *** from first principles and materials theory corroborate the results from microscopic characterizations that reveal a transition of the amorphous phase from a precursor intermetallic *** transformation,characterized by the emergence of antisite disorder,lattice expansion,and the presence of nanograin boundaries,signifies a departure from the precursor intermetallic ***,this phase transformation is accelerated by the presence of multiple principal elements that induce severe lattice distortion and a higher configurational *** atomic size mismatch of the dissimilar elements present in the alloy produces a stable amorphous phase that resists reverting to an ordered lattice even on annealing.

Serum ferritin and the risk of early-onset colorectal cancer

Colorimetric Sensor for Detection of Tabun Mimic Diethyl Cyanophosphonate

Herein,a colorimetric chemosensor （probe 7） was designed and synthesized for sensing diethyl cyanophosphonate （DCNP）,a Tabun nerve agent *** sensitive,selective,fast response and photostable probe 7 in dimethylsulfoxide （DMSO）responded to DCNP at low concentrations with visual naked eye color change from pink to pale yellow and displayed unresponsive behaviour against various interferences except for copper ions,which can be di?erentiated by adding ethylene diamine where the yellow color persisted in the case of DCNP but turned to pink in the case of copper ***,the yellow aqueous solution of probe 7 at pH 10 and 12 turned colorless against the response of *** limit of detection（lOD） of probe 7 was found to be 50 nmol/l in an aqueous basic solution at pH 10 for the detection of *** formation of the cyclized product was elucidated by1H and31P NMR nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR,31P NMR),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）,and high-resolution mass spectrometry （HRMS） ***?lter paper and silica plate loaded with probe 7 were fabricated for real-time and on-site detection of DCNP.
