Background:Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients experience symptoms that may affect their quality of life,treatment outcomes,and *** and managing breast cancer-related symptoms soon after diagnosis is *** purpose of this study was to investigate the associations between health-related fitness(HRF)and patient-reported symptoms in newly diagnosed breast cancer ***:This study utilized baseline data from the Alberta Moving Beyond Breast Cancer Cohort Study that were collected within 90 days of *** measures included peak cardiopulmonary fitness(peak volume of oxygen consumption(VO_(2peak))),maximal muscular strength and endurance,flexibility,and body *** measures included depression,sleep quality,and *** multivariable logistic regression was performed for ***:Of 1458 participants,51.5%reported poor sleep quality,26.5%reported significant fatigue,and 10.4%reported moderate *** multivariable-adjusted models,lower relative VO_(2peak)was independently associated with a greater likelihood of all symptom measures,including moderate depression(pleep quality(p=0.009),significant fatigue(p=0.008),any symptom(pnd multiple symptoms(preshold associations with all symptom measures such that all 3 lower quartiles exhibited similar elevated risk compared to the highest *** strength of the threshold associations varied by the symptom measure with odds ratios ranging from-1.5 for poor sleep quality to-3.0 for moderate depression and multiple ***,lower relative upper body muscular endurance was also independently associated with fatigue in a dose-response manner(p=0.001),and higher body weight was independently associated with poor sleep quality in an inverted U pattern(p=0.021).Conclusion:Relative VO_(2peak)appears to be a critical HRF component associated with multiple patient-reported symptoms in newly diag

Ray tracing Particle Image Velocimetry(RT-PIV)is an optical technique for high resolution velocity measurements in challenging optical systems,such as transparent packed beds,that uses ray tracing to correct for distortions introduced by transparent geometries in the light *** ray tracing based correction is a post processing step applied to the raw PIV particle images before classical PIV *** this study,RT-PIV is performed in the top layer of a body centred cubic(bcc)sphere packing with gaseous flow,where optical access is obtained by the use of transparent N-BK7 glass balls with a diameter of d=40 ***-PIV introduces new experimental and numerical challenges,for example a limited field of view,illumination difficulties,a very large required depth of field and high sensitivity to geometric parameters used in the ray tracing *** challenges and their implications are the main scope and discussed in the present ***,the validation of the ray tracing reconstruction step is presented and examples for the obtained corrected vector fields in a packed bed are *** results show the strength of the method in reconstructing velocity fields behind transparent spheres that would not have been accessible by optical measurement techniques without the ray tracing correction.

Overweight/Obesity in University Students from Mexico: Comparison Using Different Indices

The goal was to compare body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), waist to height ratio (WHtR), and relative fat mas (RFM), to identify the best predictor of overweight and obesity in university students from Mexico. This is a cross-sectional survey with 697 university students from northern and central Mexico (448 women, and 249 men aged 18 - 19 years). Data was collected during 2018. Overweight and obesity were calculated from those indices and for both, female and male students, the order of correlation between a pair of indices were WHtR vs. RFM > WHtR vs. WC > RFM vs. WC > WHtR vs. BMI > BMI vs. WC > RFM vs. BMI. It is concluded to use the WHtR and the RFM to better predict overweight and obesity in young Mexican university students.

Demographic features and histopathological diagnosis in primary eyelid tumors: results over 19 years from a tertiary center in Ankara, Turkey

AIM:To evaluate the demographic features,location,and histopathologic results in primary eyelid ***:We retrospectively reviewed the records of patients with primary eyelid tumor diagnosed and treated between November 1997 and June 2016 on our ***:Nine hundred and eleven lesions from 874 patients were included in this *** hundred and fortysix(51.0%)of the patients were females and 428(49.0%)were *** mean age was 51.0y(range:3 mo-94 y).The lesions were located in the upper eyelid(418 cases,45.9%),lower eyelid(378 cases,41.5%),medial canthus(89 cases,9.8%),and lateral canthus(26 cases,2.8%).Four hundred and seventy(51.6%)lesions were located on the right side and 441(48.4%)on the *** the eyelid lesions,666(73.1%)were benign,230(25.2%)malignant,and 15(1.6%)*** the eyelid tumors were classified according to their tissue or cell of origin,527(57.8%)of the lesions were found to be epidermal,171(18.8%)adnexal,131(14.4%)inflammatory and infectious,and 65(7.1%)*** most common benign lesions were squamous cell papilloma(139 lesions,15.2%),intradermal nevus(97 lesions,10.6%),epidermoid inclusion cysts(78 lesions,8.6%),seborrheic keratosis(60 lesions,6.6%),and inflammatory masses(59 lesions,6.5%).Basal cell carcinoma was the most common malignant tumor(191 lesions,21.0%)followed by squamous cell carcinoma(16 lesions,1.8%),sebaceous carcinoma(14 lesions,1.5%),and malignant melanoma(5 lesions,0.5%).CONClUSION:In this study,73.1%of eyelid lesions are benign and the remaining 26.9%are premalignant and *** cell carcinoma is the most common tumor among all histopathological diagnosis followed by squamous papilloma.

leptin Modulates the Differentiation of Keratinocytes via Autophagy in Psoriasis Patients with Metabolic Syndrome

Objective: Psoriasis is associated with a high prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS), and patients with concomitant psoriasis and MS are more severely affected and less responsive to treatment. However, the molecular mechanisms behind these effects are unknown. Recent studies have shown that leptin may serve as a molecular link between psoriasis and MS, suggesting that high leptin concentrations may exacerbate psoriasis. However, the molecular mechanism of this effect is still unclear. We aimed to investigate the effect of leptin on autophagy in patients with psoriasis. Methods: From January 2021 to June 2022 in PlA General Hospital, we enrolled 51 patients with psoriasis, including 21 patients with MS and 30 without MS, and 30 healthy controls who had undergone nevus surgery. We measured the epidermal leptin, P62, and lC3B concentrations of patients by immunohistochemistry, and measured the serum leptin concentration by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. We then performed correlation analyses to compare these proteins' concentrations between patients with concomitant psoriasis and MS, patients with psoriasis alone, and healthy control groups. Additionally, we performed western blotting after in vitro culture of HaCaT cells with different concentrations of leptin and measured the expression levels of the autophagy markers Beclin1, lC3B, and P62; the differentiation markers K10, K16, and K17; and PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway-related proteins of HaCat cells. Next, we transfected ATG5 into HaCaT cells to revert autophagy and used the specific PI3K inhibitor lY294002 to block PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling. The expression levels of K10, K16, and K17 of HaCat cells were again measured. One-way analysis of variance was used for the comparison of means of multiple samples, and lSD-t post hoc test was used for comparison between the 2 groups.
