Synergy of phosphorus vacancies and build-in electric field into NiCo/NiCoP Mott-Schottky integrated electrode for enhanced water splitting performance

Vacancy engineering and Mott-Schottky heterostructure can accelerate charge transfer,regulate adsorption energy of reaction intermediates,and provide additional active sites,which are regarded as valid means for improving catalytic ***,the underlying mechanism of synergistic regulation of interfacial charge transfer and optimization of electrocatalytic activity by combining vacancy and Mott-Schottky junction remains ***,the growth of a bifunctional NiCo/NiCoP Mott-Schottky electrode with abundant phosphorus vacancies on foam nickel(NF)has been synthesized through continuous phosphating and reduction *** obtained NiCo/NiCoP heterojunctions show remarkable OER and HER activities,and the overpotentials for OER and HER are as low as 117 and 60 mV at 10 mA/cm^(2) in 1 mol/l KOH,***,as both the cathode and anode of overall water splitting,the voltage of the bifunctional NiCo/NiCoP electrocatalyst is 1.44 V at 10 mA/cm^(2),which are far exceeding the benchmark commercial *** theoretical calculation results confirm that the phosphorus vacancies and build-in electric field can effectively accelerate ion and electron transfer between NiCo alloy and NiCoP semiconductor,tailor the electronic structure of the metal centers and lower the Gibbs free energy of the ***,the unique self-supported integrated structure is beneficial to facilitate the exposure of the active site,avoid catalyst shedding,thus improving the activity and structural stability of NiCo/*** study provides an avenue for the controllable synthesis and performance optimization of Mott-Schottky electrocatalysts.

The influence of corneal ablation patterns on prediction error after cataract surgery in post-myopic-lASIK eyes

Purpose:To evaluate the influence of corneal ablation patterns on the prediction error after cataract surgery in postmyopic-lASIK ***:Eighty-three post-myopic-lASIK eyes of 83 patients that underwent uneventful cataract surgery were retrospectively *** postoperative spherical equivalence(SE)was calculated for the implanted lens using the Haigis-l and Barrett True-K *** error at one month postsurgery was calculated as actual SE minus predicted *** each eye,area and decentration of the ablation zone was measured using the tangential curvature *** associations between prediction errors and corneal ablation patterns were ***:The mean prediction error was-0.83±1.00 D with the Haigis-l formula and-1.00±0.99 D with the Barrett True-K *** error was positively correlated with keratometry(K)value and negatively correlated with ablation zone area using either formula,and negatively correlated with decentration of the ablation zone using the Barrett True-K formula(all Ply correlated with decentration of the ablation zone with both formulas(all Pltivariate analysis showed that with the Haigis-l formula,prediction error was associated with axial length(Al),K value and decentration,and with the Barrett True-K formula,prediction error was associated with Al and decentration(all Plusion:A flatter cornea,larger corneal ablation zone and greater decentration will lead to more myopic prediction error after cataract surgery in post-myopic-lASIK eyes.

A High-Performance Electrochemical Analysis Platform for Ultrasensitive Detection of HTlV-1 DNA: Integrating Cascade Signal Amplifi cation with λ-Exonuclease-Assisted Target Recycling and Enzyme Catalysis

Human T-cell lymphophilic virus type 1 (HTlV-1), the known retrovirus causing cancer in humans, is closely associated with adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma and HTlV-1 associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis. Due to its ability to evade the host's defense mechanisms, early tracking of HTlV-1 becomes crucial. In this study, we integrateλ-Exonuclease(λ-Exo)-assisted target recycling with a terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT)-mediated template-free DNA extension process to develop an electrochemical analysis platform for the specifi c and sensitive detection of HTlV-1 DNA. During theλ-Exo-assisted target recycling, HTlV-1 DNA is recognized by hairpin DNA (Hp-DNA), forming double-stranded DNA(dsDNA) through DNA hybridization. The dsDNA, featuring blunt 5'terminal phosphorylation, is cleaved byλ-Exo, generating abundant short output sequence (sDNA). HTlV-1 DNA is released, initiating a cyclic hybridization-cleavage ***, thiol-labelled capture DNA (CP-DNA) assembled on gold electrode surface captures a substantial amount of the generated sDNA, forming CP-DNA-sDNA nanostructures. When TdT and dNTPs are present on the electrode surface, the3'-OH terminal of sDNA extends to generate long single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) structure. Methylene blue (MB) is selected as the electrochemical signal molecule. MB not only binds with ssDNA but also interacts specifi cally with dsDNA, resulting in a signifi cantly enhanced electrochemical signal on modifi ed electrode surface. The detection limit of HTlV-1 DNA is as low as 19 amol/l (S/N=3) when the two signal amplifi cation strategies are combined. The analysis platform exhibits excellent analytical performance and holds promise as a novel tool for the early tracing and diagnosis of HTlV-1 DNA.

Monitoring and predicting highly localized weather events over a very short-term period,typically ranging from minutes to a few hours,are very important for decision makers and public *** these events usually relies on radar observations through monitoring and *** advanced high-resolution imaging and sounding observations from weather satellites,nowcasting can be enhanced by combining radar,satellite,and other data,while quantitative applications of those data for nowcasting are advanced through using machine learning *** applications include monitoring the location,impact area,intensity,water vapor,atmospheric instability,precipitation,physical properties,and optical properties of the severe storm at different stages(pre-convection,initiation,development,and decaying),identification of storm types(wind,snow,hail,etc.),and predicting the occurrence and evolution of the *** observations can provide information on the environmental characteristics in the preconvection stage and are very useful for situational awareness and storm *** paper provides an overview of recent progress on quantitative applications of satellite data in nowcasting and its challenges,and future perspectives are also addressed and discussed.

A genetic variant study of bortezomib-induced peripheral neuropathy in Chinese multiple myeloma patients

Background:Bortezomib results in peripheral neuropathy(PN)in approximately 50%of patients,during multiple myeloma(MM)treatment,a complication known as Bortezomib-induced peripheral neuropathy(BIPN).The drug response varies among *** factor may play an important role in ***:A nextgeneration sequencing(NGS)panel containing 1659 targets from 233 genes was used to identify risk variants for developing BIPN in 204 MM patients who received bortezomib *** expression of MTHFR and AlDH1A1 in 62 peripheral blood samples was detected by real-time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR).Serum homocysteine(Hcy)levels were detected in 40 samples by chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay(CMIA).Results:Compared with the non-BIPN group(n=89),a total of 8 significantly associated single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)were identified in the BIPN group(n=115):MTHFR(rs1801131,rs1801133,rs17421511),EPHX1(rs1051740),MME(rs2016848),AlDH1A1(rs6151031),HTR7(rs1935349)and CYP2A6(rs8192720).The mRNA expression level of MTHFR in newly diagnosed patients with peripheral neuritis after treatment(NP group)was lower than that of newly diagnosed patients without peripheral neuritis after treatment(NnP group)(1.70±0.77 vs.2.81±0.97,p=0.009).Serum Hcy levels were significantly higher in BIPN group than in non-BIPN group(11.66±1.79μmol/l vs.8.52±3.29μmol/l,p=0.016)and healthy controls(11.66±1.79μmol/l vs.8.55±2.13μmol/l,p≤0.001).Conclusion:CYP2A6,EPHX1,MTHFR,AlDH1A1,HTR7,MME and BIPN are linked in Chinese MM *** is more likely to occur in patients with lower MTHFR mRNA expression,which might result in higher serum Hcy levels.

In-situ defect passivation assisted three-step printing of efficient and stable formamidine-lead bromide solar cells

Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)emerge as the most promising photovoltaics(PV)for their high performance and potential convenient cost-effective production routes comparing to the sophomore PV *** printed PSCs with simplified device architecture and fabrication procedures could further enhance the competitive strength of PSC *** this work,we present an in-situ defect passivation(ISDP)assisted full-printing of high performance formamidine-lead bromide(FAPbBr_(3))*** three rapid printing steps are involved for electron transporting layer(ETl),perovskite and carbon to form a complete solar cell on the low-cost fluorine-doped tin oxide(FTO)***-chain polymer monomethyl ether polyethylene glycol is particularly utilized as the ISDP passivator,leading to conformal coating on the rough FTO and defect passivation for both ETl and perovskite during printing.A high efficiency of 10.85%(certified 10.14%)and a high V_(oc)up to 1.57 V are achieved for the printed *** unencapsulated PSCs maintain above 90%of the initial efficiency after continuously heating at 85℃for 1000 h and over 80%of the efficiency after the maximum power point tracking for 3500 *** fully printed semitransparent PSCs with carbon grids(CGs)show average visible light transmittance over 33%and an efficiency of 8.81%.

While a plethora of studies has been conducted to explore demotivation and its impact on mental health in second language(l2)education,scanty research focuses on demotivation in l2 speaking ***,little research explores the measures to quantify l2 speaking *** present two-phase study attempts to develop and validate an English Speaking Demotivation Scale(ESDS).To this end,an independent sample of 207 Chinese tertiary learners of English as a Foreign language(EFl)participated in the development phase,and another group of 188 Chinese EFl learners was recruited for the validation of the *** Factor Analysis(EFA)and Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA)were employed to determine the factor structure of the *** EFA results revealed a six-factor solution with Teacher-related Factors in learning Spoken English(TFlSE),Interest and Valence in learning Spoken English(IVlSE),Self-efficacy in learning Spoken English(SElSE),Negative Peer Influence in learning Spoken English(NPIlSE),Undesirable Environment for learning Spoken English(UElSE),and Negative Influence of Assessment and learning Materials in speaking class(NIAlM).In the validation phase,Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA)was performed to validate the internal structure of the *** CFA results showed that the model fits the data ***,the ESDS is a robust and trustworthy psychometric tool that could be utilized to examine l2 speaking *** for diminishing EFl learners’demotivation,lessening their aversive emotions and promoting their mental health are also discussed.
