Reducing the mode-mismatch noises in atom–light interactions via optimization of the temporal waveform

Atom–light interface is at the core of quantum metrology and quantum information *** noises during interaction processes are always inevitable and *** this paper,we perform the stimulated Raman scattering(SRS)in a hot Rb 87 vapor cell and demonstrate the reduction of related noises originated from mode mismatch via optimizing the temporal waveform of the input *** using the seed with the optimized mode,the intensity fluctuation of the signal field generated in atom–light interaction is decreased by 4.3 ***,the fluctuation of the intensity difference between the signal and atomic spin wave is reduced by 3.1 *** a temporal mode-cleaning method can be applied to improve the precision of atom interferometry using SRS and should be helpful for quantum information processing based on an atom–light correlated system.

The coarsening kinetics of a two-phase mixture with a large diffusional mobility disparity between the two phases is studied using a variable-mobility Cahn Hilliard *** semi-implicit spectral numerical technique was employed,and a number of interpolation functions are considered for describing the change in diffusion mobility across the interface boundary from one phase to *** coarsening rate of domain size was measured using both structure and pair correlation functions as well as the direct computation of particle sizes in real space for the case that the coarsening phase consists of dispersed *** discovered that the average size(R)versus time(t)follows the R^(10/3)∝t law,in contrast to the conventional lSW theory,R^(3)∝t,and the interface-diffusion dominated two-phase coarsening,R^(4)∝t.

In recent years,Fourier spectral methods have emerged as competitive numerical methods for large-scale phase field simulations of microstructures in computational materials *** further improve their effectiveness,we recently developed a new adaptive Fourier-spectral semi-implicit method(AFSIM)for solving the phase field equation by combining an adaptive moving mesh method and the semi-implicit Fourier spectral *** this paper,we present the application of AFSIM to the Cahn-Hilliard equation with inhomogeneous,anisotropic *** implementations and test examples in both two and three dimensions are considered with a particular illustration using the well-studied example of mis-fitting particles in a solid as they approach to their equilibrium *** is shown that significant savings in memory and computational time is achieved while accurate solutions are preserved.

＜正＞Some species of Velarifictorus are morphologically similar. The technique of random amplified polymorphic DNA （RAPD） was used to research the relationships of 5 familiar species of the genus Velarifictorus from China. Fifteen samples of Velarifictorus were examined in this study. In this study,a two-step method was used to synthesize highly luminescent AgGaS/ZnS/ZnS quantum dots(qDs).In the first step,an inner ZnS shell was formed via a one-pot method,which resulted in a smaller lattice mismatch between the AgGaS core and the outer ZnS shell,thereby facilitating the formation of a thick outer *** the two-step shelling process,the synthesized AgGaS/ZnS/ZnS qDs showed an excellent photoluminescence quantum yield(PlqY)of 96.4%with a peak wavelength of 508 nm,repre-senting the highest PlqY reported thus far for AgGaS ***,the effect of halogen ions in Zn precursors on the shelling process was *** was proposed that the capacity of halogen ions to coordinate with the qDs influenced the balance between Zn cation diffusion and ZnS shelling ***,the ZnS shelling reaction was dominant when ZnCl_(2)was employed,while Zn cation diffusion was the dominant process under the I^(−)-rich *** work provides insights into the interfacial restructuring during the ZnS shelling and offers a clear map for the tailored synthesis of core/shell qDs.

Estimating Critical Clearing Time of Grid Faults Using DA of State-Reduction Model of Power Systems

This paper proposes a critical clearing time (CCT) estimation method by the domain of attraction (DA) of a state-reduction model of power systems using sum of squares (SOS) programming. By exploiting the property of the Jacobian matrix and the structure of the boundary of the DA, it is found the DA of the state-reduction model and that of the full model of a power system are topological isomorphism. There are one-to-one correspondence relationships between the number of equilibrium points, the type of equilibrium points, and solutions of the two system models. Based on these findings, an expanding interior algorithm is proposed with SOS programming to estimate the DA of the state-reduction model. State trajectories of the full model can be transformed to those of the state-reduction model by orthogonal or equiradius projection. In this way, CCT of a grid fault is estimated with the DA of the state-reduction model. The calculational burden of SOS programming in the DA estimation using the state-reduction model is rather small compared with using the full model. Simulation results show the proposed expanding interior algorithm is able to provide a tight estimation of DA of power systems with higher accuracy and lower time costs.

The dynamic spalling characteristics of rock are important for stability analysis in rock *** paper presented an experimental investigation on the dynamic spalling characteristics of granite with different temperatures and strain rates.A series of dynamic spalling tests with different impact velocities were conducted on thermally treated granite at different *** dynamic spalling strengths of granite with different temperatures and strain rates were determined.A model was proposed to correlate the dynamic spalling strength of granite,high temperature and strain *** results show that the spalling strength of granite decreases with increasing ***,the spalling strength of granite with a higher strain rate is larger than that with a lower strain *** proposed model can describe the relationship among dynamic spalling strength of granite,high temperature and strain rate.

In power systems,failures of vulnerable lines can trigger large-scale cascading failures,and vulnerability assessment is dedicated to locating these lines and reducing the risks of such *** on a structure and attribute network embedding(SANE)algorithm,a novel quantitative vulnerability analysis method is proposed to identify vulnerable lines in this ***,a two-layered random walk network with topological and electrical properties of transmission lines is ***,based on the weighted degree of nodes in the two-layered network,the inter-layer and intra-layer walking transition probabilities are developed to obtain walk ***,a Word2Vec algorithm is applied to obtain lowdimension vectors representing transmission lines,according to obtained walk sequences for calculating the vulnerability index of transmissions ***,the proposed method is compared with three widely used methods in two test *** show the network embedding based method is superior to those comparison methods and can provide guidance for identifying vulnerable lines.

We examine electron kinetic effects in broadband-laser-driven back-stimulated Raman scattering(BSRS)bursts using particle-in-cell *** bursts occur during the nonlinear stage,causing reflectivity spikes and generating large numbers of hot ***-duration simulations are performed to observe burst events,and a simplified model is developed to eliminate the interference of the broadband laser’s random intensity *** the simplified model,we isolate and characterize the spectrum of electron plasma *** spectrum changes from a sideband structure to a turbulence-like structure during the burst.A significant asymmetry in the spectrum is *** asymmetry is amplified and transferred to electron phase space by high-intensity broadband laser pulses,leading to violent vortex-merging and generation of hot *** proportion of hot electrons increases from 6.76%to 14.7%during a single violent burst *** demonstrate that kinetic effects profoundly influence the BSRS evolution driven by broadband lasers.
