The paper includes discussions on the important role of neutron and alpha configurations in proton-rich nuclei in nuclear astrophysics in terms of nucleosynthesis under extremely high-temperature hydrogenburning conditions. The νp-process, which is supposed to take place at the very early epoch of type II supernovae, has considerable neutrons and alphas together with protons. The alpha-induced reactions on proton-rich unstable nuclei in the light mass regions is expected to play a crucial role, but very few of them were investigated well yet because of the experimental difficulties. Specifically, I report our recent experimental effort for the breakout process from the pp-chain region,~7Be(α, γ)^(11)C(α,p)^(14)N under the νp-process. The neutron-induced reactions on proton-rich nuclei, which is even more a challenging subject, were investigated previously for very few nuclei. One possible experimental method is the Trojan horse Method(ThM). We successfully have applied ThM to the ^(18)F(n,α)^(14)N reaction study with an unstable beam of ^(18)F.

In this paper,we present analytical results for one-loop contributions to the decay processes h-Zvivi(for I=e,μ,T).The calculations are performed within the Standard Model framework in the't hooft-Veltman ***-loop form factors are then written in terms of scalar one-loop functions in the standard notations of *** a result,one-loop decay rates for the decay channels can be evaluated numerically by using the ***,we analyze the signals of h→Zvivi via the production processes e-e+→Zh*-Z(h*→Zν_(ι)ν_(ι)),including the initial beam polarizations at future lepton *** Standard Model backgrounds,such as the processes e-e+→ν_(ι)ν_(ι)ZZ,are also examined in this *** results indicate that one-loop corrections make contributions of approximately 10%to the decay *** are sizeable contributions and should be taken into account at future *** show that the signals h-Zν_(ι)ν_(ι)are clearly visible at the center-of-mass energy√s=250 GeV and are difficult to probe in higher-energy regions owing to the dominant backgrounds.

Peripheral nerve injuries induce a severe motor and sensory deficit. Since the availability of autologous nerve transplants for nerve repair is very limited, alternative treatment strategies are sought, including the use of tubular nerve guidance conduits(tNGCs). however, the use of tNGCs results in poor functional recovery and central necrosis of the regenerating tissue, which limits their application to short nerve lesion defects(typically shorter than 3 cm). Given the importance of vascularization in nerve regeneration, we hypothesized that enabling the growth of blood vessels from the surrounding tissue into the regenerating nerve within the tNGC would help eliminate necrotic processes and lead to improved regeneration. In this study, we reported the application of macroscopic holes into the tubular walls of silk-based tNGCs and compared the various features of these improved silk^(+) tNGCs with the tubes without holes(silk^(–) tNGCs) and autologous nerve transplants in an 8-mm sciatic nerve defect in rats. Using a combination of micro-computed tomography and histological analyses, we were able to prove that the use of silk^(+) tNGCs induced the growth of blood vessels from the adjacent tissue to the intraluminal neovascular formation. A significantly higher number of blood vessels in the silk^(+) group was found compared with autologous nerve transplants and silk^(–), accompanied by improved axon regeneration at the distal coaptation point compared with the silk^(–) tNGCs at 7 weeks postoperatively. In the 15-mm(critical size) sciatic nerve defect model, we again observed a distinct ingrowth of blood vessels through the tubular walls of silk^(+) tNGCs, but without improved functional recovery at 12 weeks postoperatively. Our data proves that macroporous tNGCs increase the vascular supply of regenerating nerves and facilitate improved axonal regeneration in a short-defect model but not in a critical-size defect model. We present one-loop contributions for h→ℓℓγ with ℓ=νe,μ,τ,e,μ and e−e+→hγ in the U(1)_(B−l) extension of the standard model. In the phenomenological results, the signal strengths for h→ℓℓγ at the large hadron Collider and for e−e+→hγ at future lepton colliders are analyzed in the physical parameter space for both the vector and chiral B−l models. We found that the contributions from the neutral gauge boson Z′ to the signal strengths are rather small. Consequently, the effects will be difficult to probe at future colliders. however, the impacts of charged higgs and CP-odd higgs in the chiral B−l model on the signal strengths are significant and can be measured with the help of the initial polarization beams at future lepton colliders.

Effect of Fe concentration on the nonlinear refraction and reverse saturable absorption in ferroelectric X-cut liNbO_3 crystal

In this letter, the effects of the iron （Fe） dopant concentration on the nonlinear optical properties of iron-doped ferroelectric X-cut liNbO3 crystals plates are studied by using the Z-scan technique with a cw laser at the wave- length of 532 nm. The amount of iron in the compound is varied from 0 to 0.15 mol%. Measurements of nonlinear refractive index n2 and the nonlinear absorption coefficient β are determined. The sign of the nonlinear refractive index is found to be negative and the magnitude is on the order of 10-s cm2/W. This nonlinear effect increases as the concentration increases from 0 to 0.15 mol%. A good linear relationship is obtained between nonlinear refractive index, nonlinear absorption coefficient, and concentration.

Three-dimensional dynamics of supported pipes conveying fluid

This paper deals with the three-dimensional dynamics and postbuckling behavior of flexible supported pipes conveying fluid, considering flow velocities lower and higher than the critical value at which the buckling instability occurs. In the case of low flow velocity, the pipe is stable with a straight equilibrium position and the dynamics of the system can be examined using linear theory. When the flow velocity is beyond the critical value, any motions of the pipe could be around the postbuckling configuration(non-zero equilibrium position) rather than the straight equilibrium position, so nonlinear theory is required. The nonlinear equations of perturbed motions around the postbuckling configuration are derived and solved with the aid of Galerkin discretization. It is found, for a given flow velocity,that the first-mode frequency for in-plane motions is quite different from that for out-of-plane motions. however, the second-or third-mode frequencies for in-plane motions are approximately equal to their counterparts for out-of-plane motions, keeping almost constant values with increasing flow velocity. Moreover, the orientation angle of the postbuckling configuration plane for a buckled pipe can be significantly affected by initial conditions, displaying new features which have not been observed in the same pipe system factitiously supposed to deform in a single plane.

Special attentions have been paid to the evaporation-induced mass transfer and oxidation-inducedevaporation as well as variable non-continuum phenomena.

Influence of intrinsic parameters on the particle size of magnetic spinel nanoparticles synthesized by wet chemical methods

The synthesis of magnetic spinel ferrites at the nanoscale is a field of intense study, because the meso- scopic properties enable their novel applications. Spinel nanoparticles have a promising role because of their extraordinary properties compared with those of micro and macro scale particles. Several colloidal chemical synthetic procedures have been developed to produce monodisperse nanoparticles of spinel let- rites and other materials using sol-gel, co-precipitation, hydrothermal, and microemulsion techniques. To improve the synthesis method and conditions, quality and productivity of these nanoparticles, understanding the effect of extrinsic （ph, temperature, and molecular concentration） and intrinsic parameters （site preferences, latent heat, lattice parameters, electronic configuration, and bonding energy） on the particle size during synthesis is crucial. In this review, we discuss the effect of the intrinsic parameters on particle size of spinel ferrites to provide an insight to control their particle size more precisely.

Guidance on Design of Internet-based Process Control Systems

Internet-based process control is becoming new generations of control systems, in which the Internet is used as a platform for global remote monitoring and control. The obvious benefit is to enable global collaboration between operators from geographically dispersed locations, data sharing and data provision for remote monitoring and control. however, connection to an open network and the use of universal technology present new problems that did not exist with the conventional design and construction of control systems, such as time delay and data loss in Internet transmission and security. This paper reviews the latest research results and presents design guidance of Internet based monitoring and control systems.
