＜正＞ The effect of halothane’ anaesthesia in the memory and in the rat brain 5 - HT1A and galanin （gAl） receptors were determined. Rats （n = 12. adult male Sprague- Dawley） were anaesthetized with halothane （HAl）（3-5 mmHg in 50% O2- 50 % O2N,30 min）. The memory capacity （8 - arm labyrinth） and brain 5 -HT1A and gAl receptors （ autoradiography techniques with 3H - 8OH - DPAT and 125I - human - porcine galanin） were determined 24 h after. HAl increased the time spent in: the first choice （ + 50 % ）,in the first 1 and 8 accuracy choices （ + 53%,+ 67% ）, and the error choices total number （ + 136% ）. HAl diminished the time spent eating （ - 26% ）. and the accuracy choices total number （ - 44 %） and the first 8 choices accuracy choices number （ -42%）（p＜0. 05）. HAl increased the affinity of gAl receptors in hippocampus and amygdala （Ki increment 82 % and 151 % ）（p ＜ 0.01）. HAl increased the 5 - HT1A receptors affinity of fronto - parietal cortex, hippocampus CA1 and amygdala （Kd reduction - 66% , - 88% and - 63% ） while reduced receptors affinity of dorsal raphe （Kd increment +224%）（p＜0.0l）. Amnesia induced by halothane in rats are linked to an increased neurotransmission of the galanin and the 5 - HT1A receptors in limbic areas.

Background: Darunavir (DRV) is a useful antiretroviral treatment in the salvage therapy of multiclass-resistant HIV-infected patients. This study’s aim was to determine the frequency and risk factors for DRV resistance-associated mutations (DRV-RAM) among DRV-naive Mexican patients with virologic failure after extensive antiretroviral treatment and exposure to at least one protease inhibitor (PI). Methods: HIV-infected patients with a history of at least 2 failed regimes were included and their clinical histories and genotype resistance tests were analyzed. Major PI resistance-associated mutations (PI-RAM), DRV-RAM and resistance to DRV were defined according to the IAS-USA criteria. Previous exposure to PI was compared between patients with DRV-resistant HIV and DRV-susceptible HIV-infected controls. Results: The median number of major PI-RAM was 2 (IQR = 0?- 3). In 54.7% (95% CI = 50.0% - 59.4%) of 631 subjects, no DRV-RAM were found on viral genotyping and 6.7% (95% CI = 4.8% - 8.6%) had 3 or more DRV-RAM. The two most frequently found DRV-RAM were in codons I84V (in 22.7% of cases) and l33F (in 20% of cases) in the viral protease gene. The number of major PI-RAM (as a surrogate marker of duration and number of PI used) and previous exposure to (fos) amprenavir or tipranavir were independently associated with DRV-resistant HIV infection. Conclusions: In this Mexican population, despite a high prior PI exposure, HIV-DRV resistance rate is relatively low and successful viral control with DRV-containing combined salvage therapy is expected in most patients.

Background: Subantimicrobial doses of doxycycline may improve outcomes in rosacea when combined with topical metronidazole and used as maintenance monotherapy. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of doxycycline hyclate 20 mg (subantimicrob- ial dose doxycycline) administered twice daily as an adjunct to metronidazole 0.75% topical lotion in the treatment of rosacea. Methods: Patients received subantimicrobial doses of doxycycline twice daily plus metronidazole (n=20) or placebo plus metronidazole (n=20) for 12 weeks. Subantimicrobial- dose doxycycline or placebo monotherapy continued for 4 weeks. The primary efficacy measure was change from baseline in total inflammatory lesions at weeks 2 and 16. Results: Total inflammatory lesions were reduced significantly (P =.048) by week 4 and by all subsequent visits in the subantimicrobial- dose doxycycline/metronidazole group compared with placebo/metronidazole. Changes from baseline increased over time and were maintained during subantimicrobial- dose doxycycline monotherapy. Conclusion: Adjunctive use of subantimicrobial dose doxycycline significantly reduced the clinical signs of rosacea compared with metronidazole alone and may be useful maintenance monotherapy.

Proteomic analysis for developing new biomarkers of hepatocellular carcinoma

AIM: To identify new markers of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using a proteomic analysis. METHODS: Patients with liver cirrhosis of the three most frequent etiologies: hepatitis C virus, hepatitis B virus and alcoholic liver disease, were included in the study. The samples were analysed by 2D-electrophoresis in order to determine the differential protein expression. The proteins were separated according to the charge in immobilized pH 3-10 gradient strips and then by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Proteins of interest were excised, digested with trypsin and the resulting peptides were separated and identified. RESUlTS: Three differentially expressed apolipoproteins (Apo) were identified based on the protein profile using proteomic techniques: Apo-A1, Apo-A4 and Apo-E. Apo-A4 levels were significantly lower in HCC than in non-HCC patients regardless of etiology (P ltivariate logistic regression showed that Apo-A4 and Apo-A1 were the only independent factors related to HCC diagnosis (P g characteristic (ROC) curve including both Apo-A4 and Apo-A1 showed an area under the ROC of 0.944 (P gnosis of HCC. CONClUSION: Apo-A4 and Apo-A1 may be used clinically as biomarkers of HCC with a high sensibility and specificity. These findings may provide additional insights into the mechanism of HCC development and progression.

In this paper,we provide a phylogenetic overview of Basidiomycota and related phyla in relation to ten years of DNA based phylogenetic studies since the AFTOl publications in *** selected 529 species to address phylogenetic relationships of higher-level taxa using a maximumlikelihood framework and sequence data from six genes traditionally used in fungal molecular systematics(nrlSU,nrSSU,5.8S,tef1-a,rpb1 and rpb2).These species represent 18 classes,62 orders,183 families,and 392 genera from the phyla Basidiomycota(including the newly recognized subphylum Wallemiomycotina)and Entorrhizomycota,and 13 species representing 13 classes of Ascomycota as outgroup *** also conducted a molecular dating analysis based on these six genes for 116 species representing 17 classes and 54 orders of Basidiomycota and *** we performed a phyloproteomics analysis from 109 Basidiomycota species and 6 outgroup taxa using amino-acid sequences retrieved from 396 orthologous *** of higher taxa follows the criteria in Zhao et al(Fungal Divers 78:239–292,2016):(i)taxa must be monophyletic and statistically well-supported in molecular dating analyses,(ii)their respective stem ages should be roughly equivalent,and(iii)stem ages of higher taxa must be older than those of lower level *** time-tree indicates that the mean of stem ages of Basidiomycota and Entorrhizomycota are ca.530 Ma;subphyla of Basidiomycota are 406–490 Ma;most classes are 358–393 Ma for those of Agaricomycotina and 245–356 Ma for those of Pucciniomycotina and Ustilaginomycotina;most orders of those subphyla split 120–290 *** of most higherlevel taxa of Basidiomycota are generally supported,especially those taxa introduced in the recent ten years:phylum Entorrhizomycota,classes Malasseziomycetes,Moniliellomycetes,Spiculogloeomycetes,Tritirachiomycetes and orders Amylocorticiales,golubeviales,Holtermanniales,Jaapiales,lepidostromatales,Robbauerales,Stereopsidales and Tricho

Economic Impact of a Dispensing Analog Insulin Strategy to Diabetic Patients

Objective： Assess the economic impact of the dispensing control strategy implementation on analogue insulin dosage indiabetic patients of the subsidized system of Antioquia. Methodology： A retrospective cohort study compares the units of analogueinsulin consumed with the expense per patient during the periods of December/l 4-May/15 versus December/15-May/16. Statisticaltreatment is applied to data obtained and the results are analyzed. Results： The expense per patient during the period ofDecember/15-May/16 was statistically less than the one during the same period on the year before （December/14-May/15）, having astate dispensing saving per patient of US$ 1.34 per month. And a saving per patient in the pharmaceutical care is approximatelyUS$ 2.82 per month. Conclusions： Cost savings in care of insulin-dependent diabetic population enrolled in the subsidized plan waspossible due to the development of cost/effective dispensing strategies that allowed access and safety of insulin therapy.
