Influence of manganese rate on structural, optical and electrochemical properties of CeO_(2) thin films deposited by spray pyrolysis:Supercapacitor applications

The present work aimed to investigate the electrochemical properties of ITO substrates in propylene carbonate(PC) with 0.5 mol/l lithium perchlorate(liClO_(4)) medium in the presence of elaborated thin films of cerium dioxide pure and doped with manganese at varying ***_(1-x)Mn_(x)O_(2)(x=0 wt%,2 wt%,4 wt% and 6 wt%) were successfully deposited by the spray pyrolysis(SP) technique on the glass substrate and ITO at 450℃.The effects of manganese(Mn) doped thin films Ce_(1-x)Mn_(x)O_(2) were studied and investigated by using different analyses namely X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis,Raman spectroscopy method,UV-Vis spectrophotometer technique,atomic force microscopy(AFM) analysis and electrochemical *** data obtained present a polycrystalline with a face-centred cubic structure of fluorite *** results of undoped and Mn doped thin films show two peaks at 465 and 600 cm^(-1),due to the formation of extrinsic oxygen vacancies by the incorporation of Mn into Ce1-xMnxO_(2) *** dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) data show the presence of Ce,O,and Mn elements in the elaborated *** AFM results reveal that the surface roughness decreases with increasing Mn ***,band gap energy of thin films decreases with increasing in Mn rate due to the formation of defect state between valence and conduction *** storage capacity of the elaborated Ce_(1-x)Mn_(x)O_(2)/ITO/PC+liClO_(4) electrode reaches a maximum of 1.997 mF in the presence of 6 wt% of Mn.

Spontaneous Spinal Epidural Hematoma Causing Paraplegia: A Case Report

A spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma without any identified etiology is a very rare entity. We report here a 44 years old woman admitted within our department for 04 days of severe back pain complicated rapidly of bilateral lower-limbs weakness and urinary retention. Neurological examination found a complete paraplegia (0/5 stergh), with incomplete sensory deficit below the T-10 level, bowel and bladder dysfunction, decreased deep and superficial reflex. MRI with different sequences showed a large epidural mass lesion with slightly high signal intensity on T1-weighted images and heterogeneous low signal intensity on T2-weighted images from T11 to l1 suggesting an epidural hematoma. She underwent an urgent total laminectomy from T11 to l1 following by a complete removal of a large dark and compact epidural hematoma compressing the spinal cord. Operatively, there’s no sign suggesting an AVM. Postoperative course was uneventful and she was discharged ten days after surgery with complete recovery.

High Efficiency SiC Terahertz Source in Mixed Tunnelling Avalanche Transit Time Mode

High frequency properties of 4H-SiC double drift region (DDR) Mixed Tunnelling Avalanche Transit Time (MITATT) diodes are studied through computer simulation method. It is interesting to observe that the efficiency of SiC (flat) DDR MITATT diode (16%) is more than 4 times that of Si (flat) DDR MITATT diode (3.59%). In addition, a power output of more than 15 times from the SiC MITATT diode compared to the Si MITATT diode is commendable. A reduced noise measure of 17.71 dB from a low-high-low (lo-hi-lo) structure compared to that of 21.5 dB from a flat structure of SiC is indicative of the favourable effect of tunnelling current on the MITATT diode performance.

Effect of High Temperature Treatment on Aqueous Corrosion of low-Carbon Steel by electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

The corrosion behavior of 1020C carbon steel samples that had been subjected to oxidizing heat treatment at 550°C and 675°C were studied in sodium chloride electrolytes using a 3-electrode electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Experimental data were used to evaluate the corrosion behavior of the samples while optical microscopy was employed to investigate the surface characteristics of the samples before and after aqueous corrosion. The results showed that while the sample treated at 550°C revealed an increasing corrosion rate with time, the sample treated at 675°C indicated a higher initial corrosion rate, but the rate declined gradually over the 4-day experimental period. Optical microscopy revealed significant formation of surface corrosion products on both heat treated samples, but the complex plane diagrams indicated significant capacitive behavior for the heat treated samples relative to the untreated samples.

Integrated Assessment of the Ecological Status of Bulgarian lowland and Semi-Mountain Natural lakes

This work focuses on an integrated approach for lake ecological status assessment, elaborated according to the requirements of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD). Data from five lowland and semi-mountain lakes in Bulgaria (Southeast Europe) collected from two years (2011-2012) form the basis for an integrated assessment and the definition of reference conditions. Several metrics were applied in combination, to classify lakes into five ecological status classes. Assemblages of aquatic organisms: phytoplankton, macrophytes and benthic macroinvertebrates, together with 11 supporting physico-chemical parameters were studied. The assessed unique conditions suggested that reference conditions of Bulgarian lakes have natural variability. This first baseline study illustrated specific cases within the lake types that should be assessed in details before providing standardized classification systems in compliance with the requirements of WFD.

laryngeal sarcoidosis while involvement of the vocal cords in the disease process is exceptionally rare. Involvement of the larynx is frequently limited to the supraglottis that is rich in lympho epithelial tissue and usually presents with difficulty in breathing of varying severity. We present a rare case of isolated sarcoidosis involving the vocal cord in a patient with the previous history of cutaneous sarcoidosis.

Primary Intramedullary Ewing’s Sarcoma: A Case Report and Review of the literature

Ewing’s sarcoma, a group of primary neuroectodermal tumor (PNET), is an uncommon rare highly malignant tumor mostly affecting the bones of male patients, and accounts for approximately 10% of the primary malignant bone tumors, and occupies the second place after osteosarcoma in children’s less than 20 years. Primary intramedullary Ewing’s sarcoma is an extremely rare condition. Here, we present a case of a 16-year-old girl with progressive weakness of lower extremities, inability to walk, progressive low back pain, bilateral leg pain, paresthesia and urinary retention. Spinal MRI showed intramedullary abnormal signal focus from T11 to l3 vertebrae with moderate heterogeneous enhancement on T1 weighted sequences. After surgery, histological examination found a lot of small round-cell tumors with a high nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio, frequent mitoses and apoptotic nuclei suggesting a diagnosis of Ewing’s sarcoma and confirmed by CD99 reactivity. She had undergone adjuvant chemotherapy and irradiation and was free of symptoms since 02 years. Within this single pure case of intramedullary Ewing’s sarcoma, perhaps the 1st in the English literature, the authors described this extremely rare uncommon localization with a brief review of the literature.

在正交频分复用(OFDM)系统中,对信道相关及信道独立的子载波和功率分配调度算法进行了研究,提出了一种新的基于信道参数统计相关性的子载波和功率分配算法.这种算法利用信道统计信息来减少信道反馈,由于最优解的高度非线性,转化成离散模型的求解可以降低算法的复杂度.仿真结果显示:相对于传统的信道相关调度算法,基于信道统计相关性的调度算法在系统总容量上有微小降低,但算法复杂度大大降低,信道反馈信息的减少节省了控制信令带宽;同时在性能上优于基于路径损耗等信道独立的调度算法.
