Background:Psycho social factors predict recurrent inj ury and return to preinjury level of performance following orthopedic injury but are poorly understood following *** management protocols prioritize physical measures of ***,the objective of this study was to describe the psychosocial factors associated with return to sport(RTS) and how they are measured in athletes who sustained a ***:MEDlINE,Embase,APA PsycINFO,CINAHl.and SPORTDiscus were searched through February 2,*** studies included original peer-reviewed publications describing psychosocial factors associated with RTS following a diagnosed *** primary outcome was scales or measures employed and/or key thematic ***:Of the 3615 studies identified,10 quantitative cohort studies(Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine level-3) representing 2032 athletes(85% male;high-school.and collegiate collision/contact athletes) and 4 qualitative studies representing 66 athletes(74% male;70% American football.aged 9-28 years) were *** identified 3 overarching themes and 10 outcome measures related to psychosocial factors associated with RTS following concussion:(a) fear(e.g,of recurrent concussion,of RTS,of losing playing status);(b) emotional factors(e.g,depression,anxiety,perceived stress,mental health,disturbance mood);and(c) contextual factors(e.g,social support,pressure,sense of identity).Conclusion:Although current medical cl.arance decisions prioritize physical measures of recovery,evidence suggests diverse psychosocial factors influence RTS following *** remains uncl.ar which psychosocial factors contribute to a successful RTS,including the influence of sex/gender and *** studies should eval.ate the association of psychological readiness with physical measures of recovery at medical cl.arance,preinjury level of performance,and risk of recurrent concussion to support RTS clinical decision-making.

Objective:Depression and anxiety are frequently observed in heart failure(HF)patients;however,the effect of such factors on hospitalization costs of HF patients,and whether such costs vary by race and gender remain poorly *** analysis delineated the preva-lence of depression/anxiety among HF patients and estimated the effect of race and gender on hospitalization ***:We examined the 2008 files of the Tennessee Hospital Discharge Data System(HDDS)on patients(≥20 years of age)with a primary diagnosis of HF(ICD-9 codes 402,404,and 428)along with demographic data,depression/anxiety diagnoses,hospital costs,and *** the HF sample(n=16,889)53%were female and 23%were *** and gender differences in hospital costs were eval.ated for the following three groups:(1)HF patients with depression/anxiety(HF+D);(2)HF-only patients without depression/anxiety(HFO);and(3)HF patients with other mental diagnoses(HF+M).Results:HF was significantly(placks compared to whites,and higher among males than *** 25%of HF patients had depression/anxiety(more whites and females were depressed).HF patients averaged more than 3 comorbidities(blacks had a greater number of comorbidities and hospitalization cost for the year).Costs were higher among HF+D patients compared to HFO *** HF+D patients,costs were higher for black males compared with white *** cost patterns prevailed largely because of higher comorbidities that required more re-admissions and longer hospital ***:Race and depression/anxiety are associated with increased hospitalization costs of HF *** higher costs among blacks reflect the higher burden of comorbidities,such as hypertension and diabetes,which calls for widespread dissemination,adoption,and implementation of proven interventions for the control of these comorbidities.

OBJECTIVE： Anti-asthma herbal medicine intervention （ASHMITM）, a combination of three tradi- tional Chinese medicinal herbs developed in our laboratory, has demonstrated efficacy in both mouse models of allergic asthma, and a double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial in patients with asthma. This study was designed to determine if the anti-inflammatory effects of individual herbal constituents of ASHMITM exhibited synergy. METHODS： Effects of ASHMI and its components aqueous extracts of lingzhi （Ganoderma lucidum）, Kushen （Sophora flavescens） and Gancao （Glycyrrhiza uralensis）, on Th2 cytokine secretion by murine memory Th2 cells （D10.G4.1） and eotaxin-1 secretion by human lung fibroblast （HlF-1） cells were determined by measuring levels in culture supernatants by enzyme- linked immunosorbent assay. Potential synergistic effects were determined by computing interaction indices from concentration-effect curve parameters. RESUlTS： Individual lingzhi, Kushen and Gancao extracts and ASHMI （the combination of individual extracts） inhibited production of interleukin （Il）-4 and Il-5 by murine memory Th2 cells and eotaxin-1 production by HlF-1 cells. The mean 25%-inhibitory-concentration （IC2s） values （mg/ml） forASHMI, lingzhi, Kushen and Gancao for Il-4 production were 30.9, 79.4, 123, and 64.6, respectively; for Il-5 production were 30.2, 263, 123.2 and 100, respectively; for eotaxin-1 were 13.2, 16.2, 30.2, and 25.1, respectively. The IC50values （mg/ml） for ASHMI, lingzhi, Kushen and Gancao for Il-4 production were 158.5, 239.9, 446.7, and 281.8, respectively; for eotaxin-1 were 38.1, 33.1, 100, and 158.5, respectively. The interaction indices of ASHMI constituents at IC25 were 0.35 for Il-4, 0.21 for Il-5 and 0.59 for eotaxin-l. The interaction indices at IC^0 values were 0.50 for Il-4 and 0.62 for eotaxin-1 inhibition. Inhibition of Il-5 did not reach IC^0 values. The cultivation of many crops in Africa is negatively affected by a number of constraints, the most important of which is the incidence of pests and diseases. In many areas of the world, the most preferred option in the management of pests is the application of synthetic chemical pesticides. Due to the negative effects of pesticides on humans and the environment as a whole, efforts are being made to find alternatives for pest management. Ethanolic extracts of the l.aves and roots of lantana camara were tested against the major pests of okra, Abelmoschus esculentus. The plant extracts were compared with a standard chemical insecticide, Mektin (a.i 18 g/l.abamectin) in a randomly complete block design with four treatments and three replications. Parameters studied included the major pests of the plant and the damage caused, l.af area, plant height as well.as yield of okra. Cotton aphids, Aphis gossypii, the tobacco whitefly Bemisia tabaci and the cotton fl.a beetle, Podagrica puncticollis were the major pests encountered on okra plants. Aphis gossypii and B. tabaci populations were significantly lower on the l. camara-sprayed plots compared with the control plots. Similarly, P. puncticollis numbers were significantly smaller on the l. camara-sprayed plots than the control plots. There were no significant differences between the treatments and the control for plant height, l.af area and yield. The significant reduction in pests numbers on the l. camara-sprayed plots indicates its potential.as an alternative to chemical insecticides, thereby reducing the rel.ance on chemical insecticides in the management of insect pests.

Formamidinium l.ad iodide(FAPbI3)is a newly developed hybrid perovskite that potentially can be used in high-efficiency solution-processed solar ***,the temperature-dependent dynamic optical properties of three types of FAPbI3 perovskite films(fabricated using three different precursor systems)are comparatively *** time-resolved photoluminescence(Pl)spectra reveal that FAPbI3 films made from the new precursor(a mixture of formamidinium iodide and hydrogen l.ad triiodide)exhibit the longest lifetime of 439 ns at room temperature,suggesting a lower number of defects and lower non-radiative recombination losses compared with FAPbI3 obtained from the other two *** the temperature-dependent Pl spectra,a phase transition in the films is cl.arly ***,exciton-binding energies of 8.1 and 18 meV for the high-and lowtemperature phases are extracted,***,the Pl spectra for all of the samples show a single peak at room temperature,whereas at liquid-helium temperature the emission features two peaks:one in higher energy displaying a fast decay(0.5 ns)and a second red-shifted peak with a decay of up to several *** two emissions,separated by~18 meV,are attributed to free excitons and bound excitons with singlet and triplet characters,respectively.

This review prepared for the fourth International Workshop on Tropical Cyclone landfall Processes(IWTClP-4) summarizes the most recent(2015-2017) theoretical.and practical knowledge in the field of tropical cyclone(TC) track, intensity, and structure rapid changes at or near landfall. Although the focus of IWTClPIV was on landfall, this summary necessarily embraces the characteristics of storms during their course over the ocean prior to and l.ading up to landfall. In the past few years, extremely val.able observational datasets have been collected for TC forecasting guidance and research studies using both aircraft reconnaissance and new geostationary or low-earth orbiting satellites at high temporal.and spatial resolution. Track deflections for systems near complex topography such as that of Taiwan and la Réunion have been further investigated, and advanced numerical models with high spatial resolution necessary to predict the interaction of the TC circulation with steep island topography have been developed. An analog technique has been designed to meet the need for longer range landfall intensity forecast guidance that will provide more time for emergency preparedness. Probabilistic track and intensity forecasts have also been developed to better communicate on forecast uncertainty. Operational practices of several TC forecast centers are described herein and some challenges regarding forecasts and warnings for TCs making landfall.are identified. This review concludes with insights from both researchers and forecasters regarding future directions to improve predictions of TC track, intensity, and structure at landfall.

Estimating tropical cyclone surface winds: Current status, emerging technologies, historical evolution, and a look to the future

We investigated the biogas production potential of dairy cattle manure obtained from the Fort Hare Dairy Farm,Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. A balloon type digester was charged with slurry of manure and operated under anaerobic digestion mode for six months. Fifty milliliters of slurry was withdrawn at different time intervals to analyze the microbial counts and physicochemical parameters by viable plate count method and standard methods,respectively. Data demonstrated that the p H and temperature ranged from 5.68-7.63 and 17.0-25.04 oC,respectively. The total.aerobic and anaerobic bacteria counts ranged from1.0 ×104-7.5×106 and 4 ×102-1.8×106 cfu/g,respectively,as well.as the total yeast counts ranged from 2x102-1.0×106cfu/g. A linear regression model was developed that predicted the relationship between log total bacteria count and average slurry temperature,p H and days of digestion. The 11.2% TS,61.5% VS and 32.5 % ash content of the manure indicated that the dairy manure constituted of biodegradable portion. Biogas(4600cm3) was produced during digestion and was combustible after 120 days. Thus,we concluded that dairy manure harbors a considerable level of anaerobic bacteria and methanogens that participated effectively to degrade the organic portion of manure generating renewable energy.

This article provides a review of tropical cyclone(TC)surface wind estimation from an operational forecasting ***,we provide a summary of operational forecast center practices and historical ***,we discuss current and emerging objective estimates of TC surface winds,including algorithms,archive datasets,and individual.algorithm strengths and weaknesses as applied to operational TC surface wind forecast *** review l.ads to recommendations about required surface coverage—an area covering at l.ast 1100 km from center of TC at a 2-km resolution in the inner-core,and at a frequency of at l.ast once every 6 *** is enough coverage to support a complete analysis of the TC surface wind field from center to the extent of the 34-kt(17 m s^(-1))winds at 6-h *** also suggest future designs of TC surface wind capabilities include funding to ensure near real-time data delivery to operators so that operational eval.ation and use are feasible within proposed ***,we suggest that users of archived operational wind radii datasets contact operational organizations to ensure these datasets are appropriate for their needs as the datasets vary in quality through time and space,even from a single organisation.
