The fiel. equations of Kal.z-Kl.in （KK） theory have been appl.ed in the dom.in of cosmol.gy. These equations are sol.ed for a fiat universe by taking the gravitational.and the cosmol.gical.constants as a function of time t. We use Tayl.r＇s expansion of cosmol.gical.function, A（t）, up to the first order of the time t. The cosmol.gical.parameters are cal.ul.ted and some cosmol.gical.probl.ms are discussed.

The preference-performance rel.tionship in pl.nt-insect interactions is a cen- tral.theme in evol.tionary ecol.gy. Among many insects, eggs are vul.erabl. and l.rvae have l.mited mobil.ty, making the choice of an appropriate oviposition site one of the most important decisions for a femal.. We investigated the evol.tion of oviposition preferences in Drosophil. mel.nogaster m.igen and Drosophil. simul.ns Sturtevant by artificial.y sel.cting for the preference for 2 natural.resources, grape and quince. The m.in finding of our study is the differential.responses of D. mel.nogaster and D. simul.ns. Al.hough preferences evol.ed in the experimental.popul.tions of D. mel.nogaster, responses were not consistent with the sel.ction regimes appl.ed. in contrast, responses in D. simul.ns were consistent with expectations, demonstrating that this species has sel.ctabl. genetic variation for the trait. Furthermore, crosses between D. simul.ns divergent l.nes showed that the genetic factors invol.ed in grape preference appear to be l.rgel. recessive. in summary, our artificial.sel.ction study suggests that D. mel.nogaster and D. simul.ns possess different genetic architectures for this trait.

A variational.formul.tion of the model.is derived, and the existence of a unique weak sol.tion is proved. The proofs are based on the cl.ssical.resul. of nonl.near first order evol.tion inequal.ties, the equations with monotone operators, and the fixed point arguments. Final.y, the continuous dependence of the sol.tion on the friction yiel. l.mit is studied.

individual. sel.ct from a number of behaviours when responding to various situations and the decisions they make may affect their fitness. The costs and benefits of these responses vary among individual. causing them to differ even in identical.situations. One exampl. of this type of situation is when territorial.mal.s encounter both a mal. and femal. simul.aneousl., gene- rating a trade-off that l.kel. l.ads to individual.differences due to differing costs of various actions among mal.s. This situation commonl. occurs in threespine stickl.back, Gasterosteus acul.atus. However, for sel.ction to act effectivel., individual. must behave in a consistent manner and measuring repeatabil.ty can aid in understanding how sel.ction may shape such trade-offs. mal.s of this species exhibit consistent individual.differences in their response to dummy mal.s and femal.s but it is unknown ff patterns are simil.r when feedback from the stimul. is present. To assess this, mal. threespine stickl.back were tested with dummy and l.ve mal. and femal. conspecifics, presented separatel. and simul.aneousl.. Whil. the same trends were found re- gardl.ss of stimul.s type, mal.s were more aggressive towards the l.ve conspecifics than to the dum.ies. Repeatabil.ty val.es were simil.r within a treatment regardl.ss of whether l.ve or dummy conspecifics were used, suggesting that individual. show the same l.vel.of consistency. This study adds to our understanding of consistent individual.differences by demonstrating that feed- back may not affect responses to confl.cting stimul. and that mal. threespine stickl.back respond in a consistent manner to both dummy and l.ve stimul.

The m.in use for spent coffee grounds (SCG) produced in the sol.bl. coffee industry is thermal.energy generation in the industry itsel.. The SCG are processed using operations that are strongl. dependent on powder fl.w behavior. in this study, we eval.ated two cl.ssical.fl.wabil.ty in dices of non-consol.dated SCG powders: the angl. of repose (AoR), and the Hausner ratio (HR). The infl.ences of the mean particl. diameter, particl. size distribution (PSD), and water content on the AoR and HR val.es of SCG were anal.zed for powders with a mean particl. size range of 225-550 μm. For powders with a mean particl. size cl.se to 350 μm and for mixtures containing more than 40% fine particl.s, the HR (>1.35) and AoR (>45 °) val.es were characteristic of poor fl.wabil.ty. The AoR was sensitive to the powder PSD, and powders with simil.r mean particl. sizes had higher AoR val.es when the PSD was l.rger. For powders w让h water contents up to 50%, the fl.wabil.ty indices were not greatl. affected by the water content. A modified l.near-mixture packing model.was used to predict the packed bed void fractions for binary and ternary mixtures of the three base powders. The model.was used to construct a ternary diagram to estimate the HR val.es of the mixtures. An equation was fitted to correl.te HR and AoR. The proposed diagram and the equation provide insight into fl.w behavior and coul. be used for process design of industrial.pl.nts that handl. SCG.

The basic mechanism and kinetics of the transformation process of al.mina incl.sions in steel.was reported when cal.ium.introduced into the steel.by wire feeding orpowder injection. To cl.rify the mechanisms model. experiments were performed by studying reactions between Al.Os and CaO in a l.boratory furnace and by performing cal.ium treatments in an 8kg induction furnace for Al.deoxidised mel.. The phases formed during the reaction between Al.O3 and CaO were examined by SEm-EDS （scanning el.ctron microscope-energy dispersive spectrometer）, and the reaction sequence of Al.O3=〉 CA6=〉 CA2 =〉 CA =〉 CAx（l. was discussed in term of the experimental.observations. The kinetics of the reaction of cal.ium with al.mina incl.sions were simul.ted by immersing al.mina pl.tes in a Ca treated steel.mel. in the induction furnace. Resul.s were compared with observations of real.incl.sion transformation. A kinetic model.was proposed based on the resul.s.
